Advance ER is a walk in Emergency Room that is a very good alternative to a hospital ER or if your primary care physician is unavailable. Due to circumstances, I ended up at Advance ER and came away extremely impressed with the staff and facility. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Facility, Return) Atmosphere - I was immediately greeted upon walking in and directed to sit in a very nice waiting area. While this is a full emergency room, I felt like I was in a nicely decorated doctor's office. It made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. 1 Star. Service - The staff went above and beyond. I explained my situation, provided my ID and info, and the helped me throughout the process including assisting with paperwork. Each of the nurses on staff were also helpful, treated me with respect, and the whole time I felt very at ease. 1 Star. Facility - This is the most impressive part of Advance ER. It's like a hospital floor, with a nursing station and examination rooms. Also, they can do everything on site, like imaging, blood and urine work, and more. This makes it very convenient because I didn't have to go to different offices. Everything I needed was done at Advance ER. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes (actually No, because it means something happened to me ). Went into Advanced ER near the galleria because I had some cleaner pop up into my eye that said it was toxic. Didn't want to risk it after rinsing my eye with water as directed and still seeing some of the cleaner in there, so went in to see what they could do to clean it out further. Was in the "emergency room" for less than 5 minutes and was told there was "nothing they could do for me." They then proceeded to charge me and my insurance over $1,000 for the visit. I unfortunately had to visit Advance ER 6 times in 8 days because of the intense pain and nausea from cyclic vomiting syndrome (weed smokers, watch out for this!! Dr. Chiang and Nurse Diana went above and beyond the entire time I was at Advanced ER. I was there to receive ketamine treatments for my migraine and Dr. Chiang is one of the only doctors who does it at this practice. Diana is the most caring nurse I've ever had. She made sure to check on me frequently to make sure I was doing okay with the treatment. I wish every nurse I've ever had was the same as her. I have no complaints about my treatment and only the best things to say. They are both extremely attentive and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. Diana even let me borrow her own personal fan because I was so hot. They are both the most kind medical professionals I've ever had the pleasure of working with. This is my first time visiting Advance ER for myself, but the third time overall for my family. Low waiting time, immaculate waiting area as we've come to expect. Minimal paperwork. They are an actual ER so they do take 3rd party insurance which was needed for my case of whiplash with the other driver at fault. Dr. Larry Pettit and nurse Deborah were the absolute best. They were very thorough and had their tech radiologist perform a CT scan based on my symptoms and their observations. Dr.Pettit sent me home with just the right amount of meds to get my body healed up, a clear set of post visit instructions, plus a script for PT and a list of specialist referrals to help me continue my journey to wellness. Every single person on shift that day was a joy to interact with. It is very obvious they each love what they do and truly care about their patients. Dr. Pettit and Deborah made a great team. Excellent bedside manners! The following day, the actual Doctor on duty called to check up on me. Asked how I was feeling and wondered if I had any additional questions since my visit. How amazing is that?!? Then I got a thank you card in the mail from Dr. Pettit and nurse Debbie. Very sweet. Polished professional caring staff. If you need an Emergency Room, this is the place. If you need a flu shot, Covid vaccine, or think you might have the flu, streptococcus, or upper respiratory infection, find an Urgent Care clinic. These people give you the wrong medication with somebody else and somebody else's name and put it in an envelope and say here you go just take this to the pharmacy. Got to the pharmacy and waited for it to be filled. Assuming it was my information, but ended up being someone else's I came back and said you gave me the wrong prescription. It took all my paperwork and then just gave me the prescription, but didn't give me my other paperwork. If you value your sanity and health do not come here. I came here for an elbow fracture. Very unorganized because of them. I had to stay in pain for additional two hours because I had to go to a different pharmacy because that will close when I left. Complete ridiculousness. Took my 4 year old daughter there to be treated for her cut on her forehead and KidzKutz had Advance ER at park cities as one of the options to go to. Their staff staff and service were excellent. Their fasciitis was also great. The nurse who took care of my daughter sang to my daughter and out her at ease. Their in houses physician also took care of my daughter before the plastic surgeon from KidzKutz came to suture her cut. Overall it was an excellent experience. This ER is by far one of the best places I have ever received care from. They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and the pain I was experiencing was subsiding. This was the only place that I could find where I could get a COVID test with same day results. Everywhere else that had free testing weren't taking any additional people for today or required an appointment multiple days in advance. Same day results are useless if you just call me over the phone with my results. They said I'm positive and to quarantine for 10 days...I wonder if these people could just call their boss and say "hey I have to miss work for 10 days" without any official documentation. I didn't look at the reviews for this place before I went but I'm sure the predatory billing will be an issue for me in the future. I asked the receptionist how much it would cost for the test and she was rude and dismissive. She sighed, looked at me like I was crazy, and then said "we just bill your insurance". They do not want you to be informed. Take your business elsewhere, these people are not compassionate about helping you. If you're desperate for a COVID test, don't come here. I have a upper respiratory infection and swollen sore throat, and the Nurse Practitionerrefused to give me an anti-biotic. After conducting a strep throat exam, which was negative, she told me to go home and gurgle with warm salt water. This is the second time I've come to this clinic. The last year I came and they, again, refused to give me an antibiotic. I'm rarely sick, maybe once a year from sinusitis, but I wouldn't come here for help. Hello Yelp! Please read my original review first to get the background, bust essentially my wife had a really bad case of pink eye and was looking for urgent care that was open... She saw on Yelp that Advance ER was listed as a walk-in clinic (unfortunate verbiage), and went there as it was the only comparable urgent care type facility open at that time on that particular day. We were billed at an extremely high rate (and we didn't have a fabulous experience; the prescriptions they gave didn't really work well enough) so that we were charged $1000 for what amounted to some eye drops that didn't really work. We tried several times to contact their billing department, and at last, we got a call back! We asked for some help to see if the bill could be adjusted given our financial situation, and they took $200 off. I made a $75 payment that day... THEN about a month later, someone from Advance ER themselves (and not the billing company they contract with) said that they were sorry we had a negative experience and that unfortunately we were not the first folks who needed urgent care that went there thinking it would be more urgent care and less emergency room (I know, I know... but in the moment if you want medical help for your family those nuances aren't always immediately apparent), and that whenever that happens they do their best to reach out and GIVE us the urgent care price. They said it took them longer than usual to reach out but that they would honor the fact that urgent care would have cost about $100, so they knocked our bill down to $100, and since I had already paid $75, we only needed to pay $25 to be settled. I paid right then and we were done! Tl;dr I know that in the haze you're in when your family is looking for immediate medical attention, the difference between urgent care and emergency room doesn't come to the forefront of your mind, but if you have an "urgent care" level medical need, please do your best to go to a designated urgent care facility and not to Advance ER as they will bill and treat you as if you are having an "emergency room" level medical need, which is fine for emergencies... you will get very good quality care, and will pay for it :) But if you want urgent care, try to go somewhere else as the service you will get at an urgent care facility will suffice and will be literally 10x cheaper. As a courtesy, Advance ER ultimately adjusted everything so that we were charged the urgent care price, but it was ultimately a courtesy and not an obligation. I and my family are very grateful that Advance ER made a point of checking their Yelp reviews and assisting us in this situation; hopefully you can read up on my experience and save everybody some time and hassle in the future by only going here if you really, really need an actual emergency room and would like to do so in STYLE. So a while ago I called to see if I could get an oral abscess drained at like 4 in the morning, but the surgeon on duty was busy with another patient, so he couldn't answer if the ER was equipped to do the necessary surgery and I was asked to wait 15 minutes or so and the woman who answered the phone was very polite and said she would call me back with an answer. I was never called back. I texted the place a few times and tried reaching them through whatever chat applications they had on the website since I really wanted a yes/no answer so I could hurry up and call another place or if I needed to wait for an emergency oral surgeon to open their office 5 hours later, but I was told to call the office again... still no answer and I was asked to wait... I was dumb and waited 3 hours and gave up so I passed out and went to an actual oral surgeon. TL;DR: They were polite and seemed very concerned, but it's dangerous to not have a follow-up call. What I had ended up not being too serious (thankfully), but it's still dangerous to keep someone waiting for that long when I just needed a quick "yes, we can help you, come on in" or "no, our office isn't equipped with what we need to perform the surgery". read more

DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU ARE DYING. This place would have been great knowing what I was walking into and being aware of how it truly works. BUT, the billing information I was told by the receptionist was very misleading. The receptionist said the only difference in this visit would be my copay. My usual copay is $30 for a doctors visit and I understood the increase to $75 due to the Specialist charge. I was reassured I would only pay my $75 copay. I asked multiple times how the billing works and again I was reassured only $75 for my whole visit. I was told I would receive 2 bills one being the copay and the other being the amount my insurance would pay. The receptionist clearly said "You will get 2 bills the first one will be $75 that you pay and the second bill with the 'crazy number of money' is not for you to pay." I received my $75 bill and gladly paid it off, I was honestly very satisfied with this place! However, I was misinformed and finally after ignoring the "second bill with the crazy number" I called and was informed that is NOT how the billing works... I was very upset of course. I literally sat there and asked the nurse again about me only paying $75 and there not being funny business going on or any other charges.. The staff was amazing but I don't like being mislead either. If I kept ignoring the bill like I was told to, my balance would be in collections with a dent on my amazing credit score. This is unjust.. Call the Billing number on your bill and make sure! Talk to a manager, let them know what is being said at their facilities! TOTAL INCOMPETENCE - But great customer service, followed by INSANE billing!!! I went to the Inwood location on a Friday morning with an abscess the size of a grape. Their service was so quick, I had to complete my paperwork after the doctor finished with me. The "Board Certified Doctor" looked at the abscess, asked if I had been traveling (which I said yes - to the British Virgin Islands) and then proceeded to prescribe two antibiotics and gave me instructions that if the abscess was larger by Monday, to contact a recommended surgeon to have it drained. By Monday, the abscess was HUGE. The recommended surgeon first asked why the ER doctor didn't drain it on Friday (I didn't know). Then proceeded to drain 5 tablespoons of puss from the abscess. Immediately after the drainage, I started to develop lumps all over my body but mostly my arm pits. Now fast forward 5 weeks.....after not getting any better, I went to see my dermatologist, who took a culture of the puss. Turns out I had MRSA and had lived with it for 5 weeks. Had the Doctor done his job and performed a complete examination or drawn blood, the MRSA would have been discovered earlier and dealt with before it migrated to my entire body. Then, I get a $4,200 bill from the ER. FOR 20 MINUTES (5 minutes with the doctor) AND 2 PRESCRIPTIONS. If you are dying and have no other option, this ER is better than nothing. If you are sick and need a correct diagnosis, find another facility!!!!! read more

I was going through anaphylactic shock and the receptionist had no idea what that was or what I was needing! All she cares cares about is the MONEY!!!!$$$$$ I could barely stay conscious and hardly able to speak. Absolutely the BEST care I've ever received from an ER. I went in with severe stomach pains. I was greeted warmly the moment I walked in the doors. I was called back by the nurse almost immediately. Once I was in my room I was immediately greeted by my RN Laurie who took very good care of me. Shortly after getting settled in I was seen by Dr. Pettit who was extremely kind and generous with his time. Immediately the team began running tests to find out what was wrong with my stomach. While waiting for results I was constantly checked on to see if I needed anything . Not once did I feel neglected or overlooked. They even asked my fiancé if she wanted anything. Finding the words to express how SAFE & COMFORTABLE I felt is difficult because this facility and their staff exceeded any expectation I had. I pray that I don't ever need to come back to the ER, but if I do, Advance ER will be my ONLY choice. Thank you Dr. Pettit, Laurie & Irina. I've been here 3 times, twice for myself and once for my wife. Every time we are here, instead of waiting hours on end, within an hour they got me back, got the doctor in and was able to help me with my issue. Customer service is always very honest and full of integrity at this clinic. The front desk woman (I believe her name is Ginny, hope that is correct) was very relatable and sweet. Just know what you're getting into before you go here as there are tons of other places you can get into in the area for much cheaper. Advance ER exceeded my expectations! Upon arrival, I was immediately checked in and placed in a patient room. Within several minutes, my vital signs were obtained, I had been given ice for my injury, and I was taken to another room for x-rays. The doctor came in shortly after, made my diagnosis, gave me my prescriptions, and discharged me after taking the time to answer my questions. Additionally, the nurse and rad tech were extremely kind and caring! They helped transport me and my belongings to my car. As a nurse myself, I can greatly appreciate all that was done--and in a prompt manner too! If I need an ER again, I would definitely return here! Avoid this place like the plague..... if you need to go to an ER, go to a real hospital as it will be cheaper. I got a flu, strep and general flu panel test done here (from inside my car) back in April. My insurance was billed almost $23,000. When I called to ask if there was fraudulent activity going on I was told that that is the correct amount for Physician and Facility fees. I can't share enough positives about Dr. Rao and his team. From the second I walked in until the second I left, I was given the star treatment. Gone are the days where you spend an entire evening at the ER. The staff checks you in quicker than you can complete the paperwork and you are shown to your room. From there, the nursing staff and/or the physicians offer niceties (organic ice pops/paletas, beverages, savory and sweet snacks) to help you relax. Less than 5 minutes later, a nurse stops by to check your vitals and start the evaluation. After briefly consulting with the physician, he or she comes in and gets to work. I had some diagnostic work done after a car accident and it was completed and burned to a disc in less than 45 minutes. If you want a professional, expedient, and comfortable emergency room visit and are tired of languishing in a major hospital's (read: Baylor) emergency department, go see Dr. Rao and his team at Advance ER. However I called the center prior to going to confirm that they can take care of my medical need and they took the time over the phone to explain how they can. There was no waitng and I immediately was evaluated. Dr. King was very patient and understanding. The nurses also were as expected professional caring and compassionate. I went to get a covid test. They charge as an ER visit, which I knew going into it. They can bill me however needed. I answered all of the questions about my history, had temp, blood pressure, and oxygen levels tested. The covid test was administered. I got up to leave and was told that I couldn't and that that NP needed to give me an exam. I politely declined. I have a doctor. I explained that I just came for the test and did not need/want a full exam. I asked them to please call me with the results. They called about 5 minutes later and said they would not run my covid test because I did not want a full exam for no reason. They clearly don't have stopping the spread of covid as one of their priorities. read more

I am so grateful for Advance ER!! Exceptional doctors and nurses and beautiful accommodations. I waited about 10 minutes to see the nurse and Doctor, I was tested and treated and out in under 3 hours for a somewhat serious condition. Last time I went to a major hospital Er I waited 6 hours just to see a nurse, I was there all day, they even admitted me to the hospital and still didn't figure out the problem or make me any better. Advance Er made a quick diagnosis and actually solved the problem. Also unlike at a major hospital I was actually treated like a person, and for that I am very grateful. My second visit to Advanced ER literally saved my life. The doctors caught and treated something that the major hospital ER missed. Wonderful experience!!! The place is beautiful inside and the staff is awesome! The process of being seen is quick and simple. It is really a full 180 from going to a regular ER. I would recommend this any day over the old way. In addition to my visit being extremely pleasant, I also received a follow up phone call from the doctor and a note card signed by the staff to make sure everything was going well since my visit. The ER was empty, they took me straight back for services. The team was very pleasant. I had taken a bad fall on stairs. They took X-rays, saw a broken fibula and sent me home. They failed to do an MRI and failed to notice I blew a hole in my ankle, both cartilage and bone broken out. I've now had extensive surgery and delayed recovery, and have a tightrope with metal holding my leg bones together. I called back to speak to The director of nursing and was given the run around, hung up on, placed on hold for too long, so I've taken to Yelp instead. Less than thorough care. read more

Rushed here on a Friday evening around 1030 pm and the overall experience was amazing! My friend was terribly ill and highly uncomfortable. From the moment we walked in, we were floored by this facility. It was clean, beautifully decorated, very welcoming, and intimate. There are so many things to rave about from our experience. The staff was super friendly and attentive, we were taken back immediately with NO wait, and the doctor was bedside just a few short minutes after our arrival. Compared to a regular hospital ER, this place was truly in a class of its own. I've spent a considerable amount of time in hospital ERs over the past years due to being a caregiver of one of my family members, so I definitely have enough experience to be able to compare accurately and honestly. I wish I had a place like this to turn to with some of those past hospital ER visits because the one-on-one care a patient receives in this facility along with the quiet and relaxing atmosphere is truly high quality and worth the difference in charges you might incur. *Be aware-this facility may not be the best option for everyone depending on the insurance plan you have, so you might want to do your research a little ahead of time. However, for us, the facility was a lifesaver and truly exceptional. They made sure both of us were comfortable (from warm blankets, to snacks and drinks, to a larger room to accommodate both patient and visitor comfortably overnight). We were provided with the utmost attention and care for the entire visit and that truly meant a lot. I highly recommend coming here if you are able!! read more

Beware predatory billing! I agree with other reviews that the actual medical facilities are nice end modern, and the treatment was ok. BUT you will regret going there for the next 12 months (at least) - I have been receiving bills about every 3 months - I'm on bill #5; they scare you with "treatment cost $12.000" but they knock it down to a couple of hundreds - so after the first shock you pay, because hey what's $500 when you thought for a moment it will be in the thousands. But then the bills just keep on coming - at no point have they actually provided a statement about "services rendered" - I'm now up to over $1000 (for treatment not involving any type of surgery or over-night stay)! It has been a year ago now - I know I should probably fight them on the charges, but all I can think of is "please let this stop". read more

SHE WAS RUDE AND HAD AN ATTITUDE FOR NO REASON. my sister was a patient there and she got super nauseous and felt like she would throw up if she talked so she texted me and told me to call to let them know she's in pain and nauseous, the nurse went and told my sister "don't be calling anyone on the outside. You call us" my sister is nauseous and felt like she was going to throw up if she talked! There was 0 reason for the lady to have an attitude towards my sister about me calling. My sister was crying and upset because she felt like they were going to blow her off since I called. (Which they did) total bullshit. I'm embarrassed to say that me and my family are on a first name basis with the fine folks at AdvanceER because we're there so frequently! I will ALWAYS come here first for everything we need because I've never seen a more efficient and effective ER program- from the serene and clean appearance to the friendly and professional staff to the quick and attentive resolutions, most of the time me and my kids are in and out within an hour or two, compared to other ERs which would have an 8 hour wait time just to be seen. The doctors, nurses and staff here clearly LOVE their jobs because they have the best attitudes and bedside manners! I cannot sing their praises enough- I would never go anywhere else and refer absolutely everyone to AdvanceER Park Cities for absolutely anything from a sore throat to a broken bone! I'm eternally grateful for this unique medical facility not just for respecting my time and resources but for being the absolute experts in their field and conscientious and caring in an industry that usually just sees patients as numbers. I came here after seeing it was the nearest "clinic" in my area. My first impression was of how nice the waiting area was. It didn't feel like I was at clinic, the lady at the from desk was also very kind and told me I could help myself to any drinks or snacks. I waited about 10min to be helped which wasn't a wait at all!!! After being called in I was helped by two very sweet nurses. Overall my experience here was by far the best I've had! Not to mention they called me the next day to make sure I was doing okay and about 2 days later I received a letter in the mail from then wishing me to get better and thanking me for letting them help me not to mention every person who came in contact with me signed the letter. I guess this review has two parts: The experience was very nice, even if I was there to fighting some painful GI issues. They ran blood test, urine tests, and gave me an ultrasound to make sure there wasn't anything seriously wrong. It was as pleasant as it could be and we were seen right away. Unfortunately, the post-visit experience is pretty bad. The ER files with insurance and advertises in network, but I didn't receive those rates. I have a high deductible plan and basically had to pay it all out of pocket. Some example of the non-negotiated rates were: $1400 Facility Fee $620 for Bloodwork $153 for two blood tubes and a speciminecontainer (cost about $3) $60 Saline Bag $150 for IV Tubing ($150 cost) $463 to Inject medication, does not include the line item charge for the drug itself. It took them almost four months to get the bill to me, so I had to debate if I was going to argue it and risk having something sent to collections so I went ahead and paid. The Dr. also bills separately for $600 or so, which is probably the most reasonable of all the charges. They advertise "discounts for cash payment" as well, but I didn't get that either. I can understand paying a premium for the facility fee and being seen right away, but the mark-ups above and beyond that are absurd. Oh yeah, still no $5 starbucks card for the Yelp review. I had the flu for the first time in ages, and being new to the area, I didn't know where to go. So I hopped on Yelp and researched places. I am so glad I came to Advance ER! I was greeted by a smiling receptionist who handed me paperwork and then was called back to get my vitals started within three minutes of walking in. The nurse was smiling and friendly along with a very funny PA Jim! Jim had me laughing the whole time and the nurse with her infectious smile kept me in good spirits. Dr Peters came in and he was wonderful as well. He has a calm and comforting personality. If I could I would come here for primary care needs. They have snacks, TVs, coffee, tea, water, Gatorade, and state of the art technology. The tests came back within ten minutes or less. A few days later. I received a card in the mail from Dr. Peters, Jim, Stephanie, and Chasity. If I'm ever sick again like this I'm going to go back here. OMG, this place is the shit! I have never been so well cared for. Immediately ushered into a room, given a bed, and offered beverages. State of the art equipment, top-notch staff from reception to nurses to tech to Doctor. I assumed this was an urgent care facility, but it is actually a full-on emergency facility--may have been overkill for what I needed. But I honestly can't wait to get sick or injured again, just to come here. read more
