10 March 2024 The purpose of this letter is to outline the fantastic service provided by the employees of this business. I refer to the Advance Auto Parts store on 600 Barnes Blvd. On the evening of 8 March 2024, I discovered that one of my tires had been punctured. The manager and his assistant, Kevon (unsure of spelling) assisted me in examining the problem, suggested a tow service, and a tire service. They allowed me to park my car in the handicap space overnight (I have a handicap tag), this way I would not damage the wheel by driving on a flat tire. Later, Kevon informed me he was off the clock and gave me a lift so that I would not be stranded overnight. This was not a service provided by Advance Auto Parts and was purely the judgment call of the employee. This generosity should be rewarded. The next morning I had the car towed to Discount Tire and had the tire replaced. I greatly appreciate the assistance these employees provided on this night. Sincerely, Nathan Shaw read more

I shop at this store for most of my auto repair needs. The folks here sometimes can be of help since a couple of them seem to know auto repair a bit. Other times, they know about as much as someone who has never put oil in a car, so it is hit and miss. Still, maybe better than the O'Reilly's or Autozone nearby. The parts have begun to concern me over the past year or so. I have had a lot of problems with major name brands like Monroe and BWD along with others. Normally, I would think that this was not because of Advance, but rather, the manufacturer, but it seems that some manufacturers are under pressure to cut costs so much that they make a cheaper model to keep a major customer happy. Recently, after 7 attempts to get an oil pressure sensor which would work more than 2 weeks (most of them failing withing 2 days), I finally bought one from Autozone to see if it will work better than the BWD from Advance. Only 1 week into it right now, but I can't keep swapping this part out. It is covered under warranty, but a good thing that I don't have to pay a mechanic to do it over and over again. Best deal for Advance is usually to go online, get whatever the special deal of the day is and then pickup in store. You can still return in store if you need. Better deals online than in the sales flyer. read more

My car just would not start after going to a gas station and had to get battery jumped and went straight to the autozone store on Barnes to have it checked. My car registered it to be 104 degrees outside and the sun was beating down. I have a Hyundai Genesis and the battery is located in the trunk. Unfortunately the testing cables would not clamp on the battery to get a reading. He showed me and my sister under the hood where an additional set of clamps were located but still could not clips to work. The car was dead again and he tried to use the stores battery jumper, but was not strong enough to jump the battery, we had to have my sister jump with her car and he tested the alternator that was not reading the voltage. This young man Tyler went above and beyond to help me out on a very hot day and it was much appreciated. I know he spent more time than he probably should have, and was very kind. It was so nice to see this type of customer service these days and I would highly recommend this place. read more

I know most of these folks don't know a lot... after all... they aren't mechanics, but Advance sometimes comes thru and these guys haven't. Sometimes they are even a bit cheaper than buying in store elsewhere. Worth a shot, but not my number 1 choice.

They move the lines fast. They always have knowledgeable people working there. It's not like one of the big box stores that have clerks or cashiers that just happen to be stocking or ringing your orders in the auto department. These employees consistently know their stuff. I really liked this car at the time, so I researched online for nearly two months and took notes for comparison. Ultimately, Lexus dealer offered the best value for money, so I bought this car. Later, I noticed that there was some paint chipping on one side mirror. Since it was within the warranty period, I had it repaired at a Lexus dealer in Melbourne, and this was entirely free of charge. During this time, they also provided me with a replacement vehicle. Later on, there were cracks in the car's interior, and I went to the Melbourne Lexus dealer. They told me the cost would be very high and suggested I go to a smaller auto repair shop. Later, I discovered that Lexus had issued a recall for this issue, meaning many cars from this batch had similar problems. We contacted the Melbourne Lexus Dealer again, but they said the recall period had ended. When we asked why we weren't notified, they said it was because we didn't have maintenance done at their dealership. My questions are: 1. When I purchased the vehicle, I didn't sign any contract requiring maintenance at a Lexus dealer. 2. Lexus covers all the costs for recalls, so why didn't the Melbourne Lexus dealer or JM Lexus notify me? Lexus is a high-end brand under Toyota, but the behavior of Lexus dealerships in this matter is very disappointing and, some might say, unacceptable. At the time, my English proficiency and understanding of the law were not very good, but I have since gained a better understanding through online research, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, and learned about my legal rights. The following four pictures include one from 2011 and the other three show the current severe condition of the interior cracks. This car has been through two major accidents, but the engine and major components are still functioning properly. What I love most about this car is its built-in CD changer that can hold six CDs at once, which was a standout feature at the time. Additionally, the car's exterior design is very sleek, and the streamlined headlights are beautifully designed. If this were to happen in Japan, the person in charge at Lexus would personally apologize and ensure the car is repaired. This is because I am very familiar with the Japanese work ethic. Thought this business was on the up and up as I like to support local family owned businesses,…read morehowever my third visit there this past weekend ended in me being told to get off the property and threatened with the police because I ask them to replace a directional tire that they installed improperly last August. Back in August of 2025, I purchased a tire and had it mounted there. Not long after the tire was put on my car started making up minor thumping noise which sounded like I had a bubble in my tire, best way I could explain it, so I knew I needed two new tires but also knew there had to be something wrong with one of them for it to sound that way and the noise had gotten scary loud and I didn't want to drive over 55. As the tech was putting on the two tires Saturday, he informed me that the last tire they put on was a directional tire and they put it on backwards. I did not even know about directional tires and relied on this business to do the proper work that I have paid them to do. Through my research I found that the tread would have worn down much faster and there could've possibly been suspension damage to my car and I felt that they should replace the tire. Some guy I had never seen there before came out to inspect the tire and he rubbed his hand over the top of my tire with it still on my car and said nothing was wrong with it and that they did the right thing by turning the tire the right way, but I had been driving it the wrong way since August and I requested that they replace the tire and I was told to get off of the property and that they were gonna call the sheriff and have me trespassed. I in no way said or did anything that would merit this reaction. I simply ask in a nice way that they should replace the tire, especially after the owner admitted on the phone that one of her "dumb technicians" put it on the wrong way! They are good until you call them out on their negligence and then you are threatened with the police! WILL NEVER RETURN BUT WILL BE INFORMING EVERYONE AND ANYONE TO BE AWARE OF THIS BUSINESS PATHETIC AND DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE. Replacing the $80 tire would have been the cheapest solution for this dump!!!

According to the tech that changed it out, they have an average life expectancy of 3 to 6-years. To overcome the issue, we put a12-Volt charger on the battery and that kept us up and running. Nevertheless, if you are in Florida (Orlando is where we were camped at) this tech was 1st Class! Frank of Frank's Mobile came out to us the next day, was extremely thorough, and most reasonable with what he charged. He educated us on our systems, and most important, he quoted us before coming out and honored the price. Cannot say enough great things about this gentleman and on a scale of 1 to 10 we will give him an 11. His quote for my ski boat came in $1200 lower than the next competitor. The wait time was about 2 months but worth the wait. I had an engine cover, captain's chair and 3 piece observer seat re-upholstered. I selected the colors, scheme and embroidery that i needed, he told me the amount of time needed and met the deadline. His service exceeded my expectations and i will return in future for the rear seat. Excellent service and truly recommended.
