Ok, so I went to this Advanced Auto Parts store this morning after having to push my vehicle in the…read morerain, get a battery jump, and take it to this store. Turns out, my car battery had corrosion all over it. The guy there got out some battery cleaner and went out in the cold and the rain with the corrosion spray to get it off so that he could test my battery. His words were "I don't want to charge you for something you don't need, so I'll do my best to make sure that we get this tested!" (WOW). Needless to say, the battery was fine, and after some extensive cleaning, my car is just fine. These guys saved me about $150. I can't thank them enough!

The Assistant Store Manager Dylan came across the street to check my battery, then helped me replace my dead battery so we could check the starter and alternator. When we discovered the alternator was failing he helped me find a replacement and gave me a recommendation for a place to help fix it. ...All this on 90+° day when I had my children with me. Yeah, system checks maybe part of the job but Dylan went above and beyond with the amount of help he gave us. The kind of kindness Dylan showed is what we need more of in the world today. Thank you!

I asked him for an electric hookup and hitch to be added to my purchase. He had his son's Greenwood Tillman's Van & Truck business make changes prior to my purchase and added only a few hundred dollars to the price. Duane Tillman gave me a very fair deal and was a pleasure to deal with. I traded the small van for a full size Ford Transit van and had just moved to Greenwood. I asked Tillman's Van & Truck to add the same features which they did at a very reasonable price and scheduled. Since then I had an Indy audio business install an inverter and upgraded audio unknowing that they were not qualified to make changes. After 2 months of repeated efforts to fix what they'd messed up, they ghosted me ... haven't heard from them since but have left reviews on their web & Facebook pages... Even though Tillman's Van & Truck doesn't claim to install audio equipment, they were able to replace and fix the inverter breakdown. Aaron, a salesperson was very knowledgable in what was involved electronically in making the improvements. Sam, the tech who did the work was very much on top of what was needed and knew when to draw the line on getting involved in the audio part. It was very tough to figure out and undo the incorrect changes involving new switches and audio handling box that were now a part of the my 2020 Ford electronics. After getting the inverter straightened out and with their recommendation, I took my van to Audio Source on S.. 31 to make the final audio tweeks and the inverter/audio system now does a champion job. It had been since late Feb/early March that I've struggled with the poor installation done by the Indy mobil install business. In all my trips to Tillman's Van & Truck, I had a chance to talk with and do some ordering with most of the sales staff. I'm sure Duane would be very proud of the way my needs were met.

Ultimately, the process of buying a car is just not fun. It takes a long time, there's a lot of waiting, and heavy decisions to be made. But they make it as smooth and painless as possible. I've seen Hebert and Cody, both a handful of times--and they're awesome! While they could easily take advantage of a girl who doesn't know what she wants, I feel like they look out for me and genuinely try to get the best deal. Last time, one of the salespeople gave me advice that saved me probably $100/month on my car payment. When I'm ready to buy a new car, this will undoubtedly be the only stop I make. The service department treats my car like a baby. They always keep me informed, prices are reasonable, and they are knowledgeable and efficient. I've had particularly great service from Brandon. Like I said--getting your car serviced is not fun, but they keep the waiting area clean and well stocked with complimentary coffee, water, and snacks. The waiting area is also quiet and reasonably comfortable. I honestly wouldn't even consider taking my car somewhere else unless it was an emergency.

Andrew assisted me once I pulled into the bay. He was friendly and professional. He had assistance from another team member since I opted to have both headlights replaced. My service from Penske is always great, but this time it was quick and efficient... so quick I didn't even have to get out of the car this time. After we brought the car in, we were told it was $180 PER warning light. The advisor called to discuss more than $500 in additional diagnostic charges--before any repairs. That is a substantial difference from what we were originally told. Had the pricing been clearly explained upfront, we would not have brought the car here. The warning lights appeared at the same time, so we wanted someone to determine whether they shared a common cause. Instead, the explanation we received focused on charging for each light. When I questioned that, I was told they were legally required to charge this way and that every other shop does the same. That response made me feel dismissed rather than helped. We were also told the diagnostic fees would not go toward repairs, which made the potential total even more disappointing. I appreciate that the advisor called before proceeding with additional charges, but that doesn't resolve the lack of clarity in the initial quote. I'm willing to pay for a technician's time and expertise. What I'm unhappy with is arriving expecting a $180 diagnosis, then learning it could cost hundreds more and receiving an explanation that left me questioning my trust in the dealership. We chose to take the car elsewhere. Based on this experience, I would not return.
