I'm not a gearhead or anything, but I really enjoy maintaining my car the best I can. I really…read moreenjoy taking care of it, especially on the weekends when I can devote some time to it. AutoZone typically has everything I need to do that, and this one has a decent inventory comparatively speaking with other branches I've visited recently. The only trouble I encountered during my visit occurred upon check-out. One should note that credit card transactions occur at one cash register, but cash transactions happen at another. There's no signage for that, but customers should be aware that if they plan to pay by cash but end up at a credit only register, you're going to have to re-do the transaction at an alternative register.

After all this, I tossed my items into the wire stand by the register and left. Sitting in the parking lot to write this review, 10 minutes later, none of the people behind me have made it out of the store yet. I'll driving up out of my way to go to PepBoys from now on.

It is unfortunate that I am having to write this…read more On June 25, 2025, I had service done at this Brakemasters location on my Land Rover. They replaced the harmonic balancer, idler pulley, serpentine belt, and performed an oil change. On August 27, 2025, my car stalled out with no power and had to be towed back. That Friday morning, the shop told me they could not figure it out and asked me to tow it elsewhere. I did. The new mechanic immediately discovered that when Brakemasters replaced the harmonic balancer, the repair had not been done correctly--the bolt could literally be removed by hand. This caused the part to slip, leading to catastrophic engine damage. I attempted to resolve this directly with the store. I spoke with Curtis, who was dismissive, rude, and adamant that no mistake had been made. On September 2, 2025, I reached out to corporate and spoke with Christian Smith, who returned my call on September 3. He apologized, explained in detail what had happened, and admitted liability. He assured me Brakemasters would "make this right" and that my engine would be replaced either through their corporate account or insurance. Unfortunately, Brakemasters opted to turn this over to Nationwide Insurance, which now wants to total my car. That option does not make me whole--it leaves me without a vehicle and does not even cover the payoff balance. On September 9, I again contacted Christian, making it clear that a payout would not resolve this issue and that I simply needed the repair done. Since then, corporate has completely ghosted me. On September 11, Nationwide informed me that Brakemasters would no longer respond or engage with me and that they would only "settle" through insurance. To this day, Brakemasters has not refunded the money I paid for the faulty repair, nor have they taken responsibility for correcting the damage their negligence caused. My car has now been sitting at another mechanic's shop for over three weeks. This is not how you fix a mistake. This is not ethical business practice. I did not want to post negatively, but I've been forced to. This matter is being reported to the Better Business Bureau, the Arizona Attorney General, and the Texas Attorney General. It is astounding to me that a company can cause this kind of damage, openly admit fault, then abandon the customer entirely. Brakemasters has done nothing to make this right.
