Well it's pretty basic all around the board...Anyone can get hired & yes that's a great thing bc everyone needs a job! But shouldn't it be a given that employees become familiar with store products? Just about any AAP store I have been to, employees tend to be dumbfounded when asked Q's on the Merchandise! Sometimes it's frustrating & other times funny when u hear them making up an answer when in reality it should be said "idk"! I have to do my research online then proceed inside & stick to that!! read more

Needed my car battery replaced, they did it free of charge in under 10 minutes. Highly recommend.

They were not helpful at all. When I had to buy a battery I asked him to help me install it. He the. Informed they didn't do that if it was raining. I told him it was not raining it's barely misting. He refused. I then had to go to advanced auto parts in pawling where they were nice enough to install it for me. Even if I didn't buy it with them. read more

Quite possibly the rudest encounter from a sales person I've ever experienced ... My wife and I went into this auto parts store to purchase a battery for my daughter's car I gave him the make and model of the car and he wanted to know if it was 4 or 6 cylinder and seemed aggravated. Since I wasn't sure I called my daughter and found out it was four cylinder. He went into the back got the battery and we went through the entire transaction with my daughter's debit card and after being approved the computer froze up before it printed my receipt. We were then told it did not go through and had to do it over on another register... after telling him that the charge was approved and that it probably went through he said that it didn't because he checked so we did the transaction again. After leaving the auto parts store about halfway home my wife checked my daughter's bank statement and it showed she was double-charged. We then went back to the auto parts store and told them and they refunded the difference but offered no apology or remorse for their obvious mistake so we returned the battery as well and went next door to another auto parts store where the employees were pleasant! I will never shop at this place again read more

Hey car wouldn't start this morning, jumped it and took it over to Advance Auto Parts in Carmel. Both Dave and Rob were unbelievably helpful. Rob assured me I didn't need a knew battery and proceeded to clean the corrosion off my old one and replace the terminals all for the purchase of $3 worth of parts. What a great place - so glad I found it and would highly recommend. read more

Went to advanced auto parts today to repair a damaged trans oil cooler. Luciano assisted us and he was knowledgeable, honest and most helpful. He brainstormed with us on the best method to repair the part and even offered solutions as to where we might go to do it. Although we did not purchase anything at the time, the information he provided was priceless. We will definitely go back for all our auto needs. read more

My initial contact was with a middle aged gentleman was polite and outgoing. He asked if he could help and directed me to where I needed to go in the store. He went in the back somewhere and a young man, perhaps in his mid to late 20's was hanging out at the register. I was looking for a fuse. I kept researching on my phone, was there for at least a half hour or more looking and researching. One male walked in asked the young man behind the counter something about oil and he was very eager to help. I really wasn't comfortable to ask him for help, but time was passing and I needed to pick up my multiply handicapped daughter nearby and I needed the fuse so I would no longer need a screwdriver to get my car in gear. Not another person was in the store for probably 45 or 55 minutes now. I approached the young man and said there are a couple of sizes of fuses is there any way you could tell me what type of fuse I need. Well, I guess he was so very preoccupied with not having anything to do and I was such an inconvenience asking him such a question. He rudely said I would have to see it with his snarky, Mr Know it all attitude. Well, I politely said okay. Googled it myself for another couple of minutes and purchased what I thought was the correct fuse. I was in service for many years, he is no asset to your company. He does bare minimum, no extra, not polite, treats customers perhaps for his own personal dislikes inappropriately. He needs to grow up and be responsible and learn courtesy. In service you must treat the customer with respect. I am an over respectful customer due to being treated poorly by the public so he has no excuse except that he is not serious about his employment opportunity. The young lady that checked me out was very polite and mannerly with a pleasant smile, The middle aged man at the beginning and the young lady at the end are positive employees for your business.
