The place is about 5 minutes from downtown Paso. They had a good selection of donuts with pretty creative flavors. The woman that helped us was the owner I think. Whole beans, lots of lettuce, felt like a nice healthy lunch. At the salsa bar there was a salsa de habanero which was pink. I've lived my whole life in SoCal and never come across this salsa before. Hot, but so refreshing, lots of lime. Could not stop eating it! Clean, super friendly, quick, and really delicious.

Just on the edge of crunchy, and wasn't greasy or soggy at all despite being fried. Chips and salsa were great as well. Place was clean, I believe the owner was working the front, she was very hard working, active and kind. Only downer is I'm just passing through, and probably won't be around here until next year. Highly recommended spot.

This hotel is absolutely charming, with a gloriously comfortable bed and cute little patios that…read moreyou can enjoy their delicious croissants and coffee on in the morning, and a glass of wine in the evening. It's walking distance to the main part of downtown and there is a pizza and a Mexican restaurant across the street. My only real gripe is how hard they're pushing guests to buy their snacks and wine-- the room has not one but two pieces of furniture loaded with premixed cocktails, a bottle of wine, snacks, and bottled mineral water. They don't allow "outside food" in common areas, whose definition was never clear to me- does it include the patios in front of the rooms? So I felt like a criminal bringing in takeout for dinner, but there is no food onnthe premises other than various kinds of overpriced chips and cookies. They don't let you bring outside wine in common areas, either, which might have something to do with licensing or might just be trying to make you buy their wine. So we waited until it was dark and no one was around to enjoy our outside wine on the patio. But we didn't get in trouble so maybe it was ok. They're also really promoting their bath products, for sale in their little gift shop, along with membership in their hotel chain for "rewards." The website says pet friendly and indeed, dogs are allowed in all rooms-- $50 each is a little steep for pet charge though. The website says there's something for pets in the room but there was none in our room, even though we booked in advance. I don't really care that much but if they say it, they should do it. There were also some rich women guests who looked at me like I was a homeless person or space alien, but other guests I met in the breakfast room were normal and friendly. But basically, it's a hotel oriented toward well-off "classy" wine tourists, and if you're not one of those, you might feel a little awkward here. (I did.) But it's a lovely, comfortable little room with charming grounds, probably nice for a romantic getaway without your dogs.

The property was easy to find and close to downtown Paso. Our Room was clean and the bed comfy. Sure the bathroom was the size of one on a cruise ship, but they made the most of the space and the bath products were nice. Prob locally made, which we support. Decor was bright and eclectic- also possibly representing local artists. Wine tasting happens from 3-5p (bummer I didn't know and got the text at 615p). Next time. Heads up. The front desk closes at 10p but the desk reminds you every evening. One of the best things? Continental breakfast in the lobby...don't miss the locally baked croissants- they rival ones we had in France. Will I return? Absolutely!! I'd forgo the hotel giants for this slice of heaven.

I got two tacos, one asada and one panela (cheese). The tacos were large and delicious. The panela taco is served with pinto beans and pico de gallo. The asada taco is served with onions and cilantro.

Everything was cooked from scratch even the tortillas! We started with guacamole and chips and you could tell she had just made it right then! Perfectly flavored. Then we moved onto breaded fish taco, shrimp taco, which were all perfectly cooked and seasoned and the tortillas were outstanding. I had the Governator, which was crisp corn tortilla, smothered in melted cheese, and then sautéed shrimp, cabbage, pico de gallo, and a green sauce. I don't think I've ever inhaled anything so fast. I had an Al Pastor Sopes, a thick, round corn dough (masa) topped with cabbage, sour cream, cotija cheese, red salsa and green salsa. The beans complimented the pork and charred pineapple perfectly. I highly recommend Taco Doña Mari - The sweet ladies cooking for you is like going home to Abuelitas kitchen.
