The most recent project he did for me was to install a drainage system in my yard and build a retaining wall. They did the work well, even rebuilding the retaining wall without asking when it fell over mid-project. I noticed they installed a drain pipe fitting against the manufacturer's recommendations. While they assured me it was standard practice for them, it made me uncomfortable and they had no problems replacing it. This project unfortunately was way over budget, 50% over the original bid. They failed to consider that several trucks of dirt and foliage would need to be removed to complete the project. When he bid the project, Ed assured me they could just spread the dirt around my yard. However once excavation was complete, they decided they needed to haul away many truckloads. They never considered what to do with the foliage in the way of the retaining wall, so charged me for that also. Didn't run costs by me, just surprised me with a $4k extra charge at the end. I am disappointed that the original estimate was not even close to the actual cost due to their inadequate assessment of the scope of work.
