I wanted an extension added to my aggregate patio to accommodate an upcoming hot tub. Amazing, probably the best contractor experience of my life. They did our fencing - removed old and added new. Shaq, one of the owners, came by to discuss the plan and provided a quote that was lower than the lowest so far. He walked us through options, helped design the fence (as much as one can for a fence!) and scheduled 2-3 weeks out... a week later he texted and was ready to get started. Him and Jose came by same day, removed old fence, added all the posts. Jose came by the next day and added the boards and gates. The gate is so smooth and best reflects the high quality of work. We'll definitely hire Shaq and team for future work, potentially exterior painting, a bedroom addition, etc. Very pleased with their professionalism and work quality. We needed our old, badly cracked driveway replaced. The job was complicated by the necessary removal of the stump of the tree that caused the cracking. We talked to several contractors about removing the stump, and its roots under the driveway. We also talked to some concrete/driveway contractors. It was a mess, because no one contractor had overall responsibility for seeing that the whole job was done satisfactorily. A friend recommended Shakeel, and right away we were impressed by his communication. He gave us an estimate within a day. It included his subcontractor to do the stump grinding and root removal, and the driveway itself. The price was fair, and he was good at answering all our questions and explaining the steps and timeline of the whole job. He gave us a start date for about a week later, and everything went according to schedule. About a day after the driveway pour, he did a thorough cleanup and talked about when we could start using the driveway. All through the process he kept us in the loop about what was going on, updates on the schedule and any possible delays due to weather (it was the raining season in Seattle, after all). had a backyard patio completed. Poor finished product. I had very high hopes for a successful business relationship with this company. I had many more jobs I was hoping to hire them for. Instead we are left extremely disappointed and saddened by the results. It seriously sucks to have to write this and it was the last thing I wanted to do. I really appreciated their professional conduct and everything about our interactions until the problems became apparent and the blatant lack of ownership for mistakes happened. When asked their thoughts on the finished product the reply was they were happy with it and it was normal, most people are happy with their work. I will let the pictures speak for them selves. Problems shown in pictures: - horribly Inconsistent color -boot prints -South side is not straight and has a 5 inch difference (I Specifically pointed this out when the forms were built and asked it be straightened) -failed stamping of the pattern in some areas - A ton of left over powder material that probably isn't safe for kids or animals After the issues were discussed he was willing to come down $300 on the total. Half the patio looks good and correct. I should have paid for half or they fix the other half. Now I understand fixing this would take removing half of it at least and starting over. This patio is pretty much a permanent focal point in our backyard and its bad, to the point where I will have to buy specific furniture to cover up all the blemishes. Unfortunately the only thing I can do about the south side not being straight is lie and say its by design. I am willing to change my review and give the rating I feel they deserve if the situation is remedied. I am willing to working something out. We use A Living Art Landscaping service to redo all of our lawn. The previous yard had so many different types of grass seed, weeds, and just was frankly never healthy. They did a great job removing it, bringing in some clean top soil to level and installed some of the most awesome new turf! It was fresh cut not only a few hours before they were able to put it down.
