(Dined 12/13/24 FR @ 9:30am): Adria... you had a very charming bar and restaurant at the Cockle Bay Wharf https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=S4Y09LqfxgcCr9A2N-ResQ and marina area!
My travel companion and I were out and about on an exploratory morning walk when we came across Adria Bar Restaurant, looked at the menu, and decided to take a load off our feet and settled in for breakfast/brunch https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=_fL0R4-EZaHu8lYyxXTk3A as our first meal of the day. We'd actually walked the full length of the marina and more as we eyeballed other possible places to eat, but this place ultimately pulled us in. Did we make the right decision to go with Adria's bar and restaurant!?
PURCHASE
Stone & Wood Pacific Ale Pale Ale Beer 16floz Draft ($15.00AUD): Hazy amber color, light fruity hoppy aroma, light body, light fruity hoppy sweet flavor, smooth finish, and light fruity hoppy aftertaste. This surprisingly went well with my breakfast! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=mUBMQj9tpg4RTqg9nmzQ8g
Vegetarian Three Egg Omelette w/Sourdough Bread ($25.00AUD): A sizable omelette simply constructed with avocado, tomato, spinach, and cheddar cheese, the egg wasn't as fluffy as I liked and was a bit dry. The vegetables were all fresh, but I wished there was more of a variety (I didn't bother to ask if I could add anything else). Otherwise, I still enjoyed it, and it held me over for a good portion of the day especially since we were walking everywhere. The sourdough bread was medium-toasted with a crunch I loved; but, no marmalade to spread on them. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=xiIUmugTez0MHxPPmxD_Cg
Credit Card Fee 1.50% ($0.60AUD): I was completely fine with this!
SERVICE
We were greeted by a lovely young hostess/server from Brazil who immediately sat us wherever we wanted (there were only a handful of patrons at this time but was much busier by the time we left). She handed us menus and glasses of water while we viewed the menus. Once we were ready, she easily took our orders, our drinks came out quickly, and about ten minutes later our food arrived. We were checked on regularly and the water glasses filled. There was no rush to get us out as we enjoyed our relaxing meal before we ultimately left - ta!
PARKING (FREE)
I honestly had no idea nor took notice of their parking situation or that of the surrounding Cockle Bay Wharf business area where the restaurant was located. We simply walked or took an Uber here - 'nuff said.
ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE
Located along the marina https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=XqvCGK4crAcZMpef9Dp5Og with a nice view, this place was extremely spacious with a ton of front pathway seating, front patio https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=3XXZh4ju6z7ct1oOQWn0vw seating, and then the interior dining area https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=af6SrzHNwAzfelW2iL7ipg with two bars - wow! The place was open to the elements for a nice breeze off the water. Plenty of natural lighting entered from everywhere while an assortment of electric lights depending on the area you were sitting filled in the rest. There were several TVs throughout while music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=yOouBpiaLxvKsD6H7osM5Q
ATTIRE
Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops.
OVERALL
A relaxing time was had at Adria Bar Restaurant and would definitely consider another visit. The breakfast https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=_fL0R4-EZaHu8lYyxXTk3A and bar food https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=3wivRgiHmg0OAJzhr9l_8g menus were varied enough while the beer/wine https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=MuqM0mnjYxzdxyNNLHfqRg menu was decent but lacked in local draft beers. They also had happy hour https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=c4bIGNmSn_uopv8xhlGF5w which I didn't have a chance to try. The food was fine, the location was awesome, and the service was awesome. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $41.00AUD / $25.00USD BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS read more
