I am…read morewriting this review because of your response to Allison C's review, which was written on my behalf. I typically try not to ruffle any feathers, but now, I can't let this go because there are many things that need to be said & corrected about my poor experience at Hair 2 Sole:
1) I called & booked an appointment for a blowout. If it was, indeed, you that I spoke to, you were nice on the phone. But why do I need to tell you that I'm having engagement photos done, in order to get the service I requested?
2) There were 2 stylists working when I entered the salon, & the one closest to the door was chatting with her friend & the friend's young daughter. They made comments about the pouring rain to each other. No one welcomed me to the salon, asked if I had an appointment, or asked what they could help me with. I felt self-conscious because the stylists & stylist's friend looked at me every once in awhile, but didn't say anything to me, & it made me feel very out of place, as if I didn't belong there. I kept waiting for someone to say SOMETHING, ANYTHING, so that I could explain that I actually had an appointment & that I wasn't some random person who just walked in to get out of the rain.
3) If the stylist was running behind, why didn't she say a single word to me while I sat in that chair up front for 20 minutes, debating whether or not I should just leave? No one asked why I was even there, let alone explained that the stylist was running behind.
4) When the stylist finally approached me, I told her that I had an appointment for a blowout & followed her back to the shampoo stations. It is an absolute lie that I showed her any kind of photo of what I wanted done. I explained that I wanted my hair to be washed & blow dried, so that it would be smooth & voluminous for my engagement photos in a few hours. I've had blowouts before from other salons, which is why I asked what blowouts consist of at your salon when I made the appointment, to verify that it would be what I wanted. The stylist was very pushy about NOT washing my hair & just styling it, insisting that I forget about the blowout & go sit in her styling chair. It felt extremely awkward because I kept repeating that I wanted my hair to be washed & blown out. She would not do it & said it would make my hair flat. Do you not see the problem with that? If a customer makes an appointment for a specific service & states they still want it after talking to the stylist (and I said it a few times), it is inappropriate for them to keep trying to talk them out of it or to straight-out refuse to do it (unless, of course, there are safety issues or something). Maybe it's different for you because of your occupation, but when you're the customer at a hair salon, you're put in a position of vulnerability, & I felt very pressured to just go along with what the stylist told me to do after she kept saying she wasn't going to wash my hair. So I finally let it go & sat in her chair to get my hair curled at her insistence (SHE is the one who pulled out HER phone, SHE is the one who showed me a picture of curly hair, & SHE is the one who said it was the "soft look" I was going for).
5) I never gave permission for the stylist to post photos of me on the Internet, so please remove them ASAP. She asked if she could take pictures, & I said yes, but again, did NOT give my consent for them to be posted online.
6) Charging me for a blowout did not save me any money. You said the stylist "did everything to the hair that she would do during a blowout PLUS styled it according to my picture." This is wrong in so many ways. Again, I did not have any picture to show her, so that part is false. In addition, she did not do a SINGLE thing that is included in a blowout - According to your Service page (screenshot attached), a blowout consists of hair being "washed" (not done), "conditioned" (not done), and "blown out with phenomenal volume" (not done). I paid $30 for a blowout & did not get any of these services. A "ladies cut & style" is also $30, according to your Service page (screenshot attached), but I didn't get a "cut," only "style," so why did I pay that same price for less work done?
7) I've attached some of my engagement photos, so you can see how my hair turned out. It looks flat, greasy at the roots (a wash would have prevented this!), & tangled, & you can see in the one picture bits of white pieces of dried hair product. It was in a huge clump at the back of my head, which is obviously not visible in the photo you posted without my consent, & I didn't see it myself until I had already left the salon.
8) The stylist didn't tell me she could rerun my card, so I could leave a tip. She only said, "You should've told me before I swiped it." So I gave her a larger cash tip because that's all I had on me.
You seem nice, & I didn't even want to write this review, but now I need to set the record straight. Thanks.
