I'm a long term customer of the salon and had the worst experience imaginable here last week! The staff were extremely rude and unhelpful and when I spoke to the owner, she was even more dismissive and rude!! I've been thinking about finding a new salon for some time because a good hair cut and color here are hit and miss. Way too expensive to walk out anything but thrilled. I strongly recommend that you find a different salon!!! read more

I've been going to Aveda Salons for over 10 years in each of the three cities I have lived in. I was excited that one was right around the corner from our home in our new town. While the counter staff seems a little standoffish (reason for only 4stars), my new randomly assigned stylist, Christina, was awesome. I tried to see he again on my 2nd trip but she was booked so I tried my luck with someone else... Not so lucky. Her cut wasn't great and neither was her attitude. I went back to Christina, and was again, not disappointed. She's awesome! read more

My regular stylist was away and I needed to get ready for a meeting today. I figured I would try Adolf Biecker. I just needed a touch up, so it wasn't anything major or a huge risk or anything. I'm happy I got Brittany. She was amazing. She took the time to find what I was looking for and worked her magic. I ssked her some tough questions and I don't think she knew all the answers. But I thought she was very professional and caring. She made sure that I was completely satisfied before letting me go. It look great by the time I was done. I know I will try her again for more work. Maybe I will try and test out a new coloring or so. read more

Lackluster experience with a scam at the end! I haven't been to Adolf Biecker for a couple years. I decided to book a haircut b/c they had Sunday hours and availabilities within a couple days. I booked a haircut, conditioning treatment, and glaze. When I made the appointment over the phone I was told the glaze would be $30. Overall it was a lackluster experience. My stylist was just ok and didn't use any styling products for my blowout which I found odd. But I was still just happy to get my haircut on a Sunday afternoon. Fast forward to check out and my receipt shows $45 for the glaze. When I questioned the manager Laura she claimed it's only $30 with other color services. I told her I was quoted $30. She made a couple of calls and claimed she would have to get back to me Monday or Tuesday after they could review the call recording of my appointment. First off I don't like being accused of lying. I was quoted $30 and that's what I should pay. I've been to much more expensive salons than Adolf Biecker and I'm not looking to scam $15. Second given she's a manager I can't believe this is the process for properly dealing with a customer situation. I definitely will not being going back ever again. read more

Looking up their hours and just had to write a review. Love this salon- Ashlee is the best ever! Everyone is extremely nice and accommodating. Always a supreme haircut! Never have anything bad to say about them. They even send you a text reminding you of your appointment, extremely helpful. Its the little stuff that matters. read more

I only left the salon 10 minutes ago and I'm already hopping on here to shout it's praises. I went to Ulta hair salon last night (don't do it. just don't do it) and they completely screwed up my hair coloring. Not the first time either! I truly looked like a clown. Bright orange roots. It was horrific and I was genuinely the most upset I've ever been over a bad hair appointment. So I made appt here after hearing my aunt talk highly of it and LET ME TELL YOU JESSE WAS AMAZING. I am so so SO happy to have gone there. Originally it was just for a consultation but after seeing my hair and how upset I was with it, Jesse brought me right back and completely fixed everything. I will continue going there for all future colorings and cuts. Incredibly happy THANK YOU! read more

I moved back to the area a couple if years ago and I went to the salon for color. Everyone that works there is a chain smoker and when I had my hair washed, colored, blown dry, anything...I smelled it everywhere. It's not only on the staff but you half to walk through a cloud if smoke to get in to the reception area. For anyone allergic to cigarette smoke or just hates the smell, I would try another spot. My hair looked fantastic, but not worth it. read more

Brit is the best esthetician that I have ever gone to for bikini waxes. She is quick and the experience is as pain-free as humanly possible.

I had a haircut with Britany.. she did not give me good hair wash, not a massage and did not do the haircut I asked for.. I think she was double booked so she had to run to next customer so she didn't even style my hair. I feel like I paid money for nothing.. hated it read more

I love my hair stylist, Paula and colorist, Kristin who work at the Wayne salon as well as the Rittenhouse salon. I prefer the Rittenhouse salon to the Wayne salon. I have only been to the Wayne salon a few times and I will not go back. The front desk is rude and unaccomodating. I have spent thousands of dollars over 7 years at Adolf Biecker as well as their sister company Jean Madeline. I purchased a $40 brush (crazy I know!) and when I got it home, I realized I already had the same brush. The next time I went back to the salon, 3 months later, I explained the situation and they wouldn't take the UNUSED brush back saying that is their policy. They don't take brushes back and definitely not one that was purchased 3 months ago. R U KIDDING ME. Also, I had appointments that day with my colorist, my hairstylist and an appointment with a new service provider that had been recommended, Melanie, their eyebrow "specialist". When I paid for the service, I was surprised at the price. I asked for a breakdown. Color - $65 (normal); Cut & blow dry with Paula - $85 (normal); eyebrows with Melanie - $50!!!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me! When I expressed dismay at the price to have my eyebrows plucked, they said "we're sorry that no one told you ahead of time but she IS our eyebrow SPECIALIST. Normally, if you are a first time customer of Melanie's you are given the price ahead of time. We're sorry that you weren't told". Don't get me wrong, my eyebrows look great but $50?!? So, in summary, I give Paula & Kristin 5 stars but the salon I'd give 1 star. Since I can go to Paula & Kristin at the Rittenhouse, I'm going to rate the Wayne-Stratford salon, on Yelp, at 1 star. read more

When making my appointment I was reassured that the person cutting my hair had plenty of experience and was good. I went in for a simple haircut (cut 1 inch off and layered). Super simple directions - apparently not! The hairdresser cut 3-4 inches off and didn't even layer it. The haircut took less than 10 minutes. When I called to speak with the manager she was gone for the day, so I left a message with the receptionist- I've yet to get a call back from someone. I paid $50 for a haircut that took less then 10 mins and she didn't even do what I asked - I left absolutely hating the haircut. read more

Kristen is absolutely fantastic. She is professional and extremely courteous with excellent coloring skills. I would not let anyone else color my hair. I highly recommend her. read more

Julia was great! My haircut is simple but Julia always gives it a nice style. I have recently moved from Wayne to Charlotte, NC and have not been able to find a decent hair stylist! Def missing getting my hair cut with Julia! read more

I am not sure why they say they're not good for kids. I bring my 4 year old and 6 year old daughters and they get great cuts. It's on the pricey side as far as kids cuts go ($25) but they do a great job and the cuts are SO much better than the budget chain places. read more

I should sue this salon for what they did to my teenage daughters long, gorgeous blonde hair. They stripped it two times and killed her hair. This was a year ago and we are still dealing with her hair falling out and breaking as a result. She still can't use blow dryers or irons and has been undergoing expensive treatments to try and offset the damage. Finally, she had to cut off most of her hair because it is so damaged. She is so distressed and unhappy because her long gorgeous hair is gone. It's been a nightmare. read more

I honestly can't say enough about Jenna at Adolf Biecker's Wayne location, so I'll start with she rocks! Some background about me: I have very thick curly and unruly hair. It takes a lot to get it to a good place. I've actually had hair stylists ask me to straighten my hair before I go see them. NOT JENNA! She takes her time, is super sweet, and most importantly knows what she's doing. After each appointment with Jenna I have people actually stop me on the street to tell me I have beautiful hair. In the past I would switch stylists about every two years, and I've been with Jenna for five. And I have no intentions of changing. So that should definitely tell you something :-) read more

I have been a customer at the Adolf Biecker Salon for several years now and for the most part have been more or less satisfied with their work. However there have been circumstances where they have shown a total lack of professionalism. Most recently I had scheduled a 10:30 am Saturday appointment to get my hair dyed for which I was on time. Upon my arrival the very courteous receptionist told me to have a seat, and get changed, some one was to be with me in 5 minutes. Fifteen minutes later, I was finally taken back, and I was seated next to the client that my regular stylist was busy with. I waited on my chair another 30 minutes or so, while the stylist was taken care of the other client. During this time, i was yet again courteously told that it wouldn't be much longer, every 10 minutes or so.... I waited in total about 50 minutes, a little less than it would have taken to get my hair done, before leaving because I am a busy woman and have many errands to run on a Saturday morning. All in all this is not the worst salon on the main line, just give yourself much more time than needed. read more

I have been going to the same person for 10 years and it was a time for a change. I looked on Yelp to help me decide where to go. The reviews of this place were all pretty good so I tried it out for myself. I really couldn't be happier. Ashlee was very nice and was interested in knowing what I wanted to do with my hair and then she actually did it. The head massage in the wash "bed" before the hair wash was the best part. I recommend you give this place a try. read more

I have been seeing Tiffany as my hair colorist for the past several years and she does a terrific job!! Just recently I referred my sister and her needs were more intensive-Tiffany was tremendous in accommodating the packed schedule to take the time and care to get the color perfect even though a lot of dark root was present and she sought ashen blond color!! I was so impressed with the salons team work and gracious coordinating skills in pursuit of a perfectly pleased customer. Tiffany and other salon members went above and beyond and the end result was superb!! Never going anywhere else-for what?!? read more

Erika Tuttle is the WORST colorist I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. I have been a loyal client to the Adolf Biecker Salon (in Wayne) and Erika for 3 years, and I vow, I will never set foot in this low-class salon ever again. While they can over-charge you for as many services as they can think of, all the money in the world will fail to buy them the class that they are so desperately lacking. Erika has the ego and arrogance to believe that she can change the plans for your hair that you both agreed on, completely independent of either your knowledge or your permission. The end result? Instead of red hair, I ended up with a shade of comic-book colored black hair, with a hint of maroon that drips off in the shower. This is my favorite part, what I like to call "placebo highlights": instead of putting in the red highlights that I have gotten for 3 years, she merely takes strands of hair that have faded color on them, wraps them in foil, and leaves them on my head to magically highlight themselves. When I expressed my dissatisfaction at the outcome and the rude way she was speaking to me, she became belligerent and started attacking my character, while other salon-goers and stylists backed away in horror. I ended up running out of the salon sobbing, and I am never looking back. While I have always treated everyone at Adolf Biecker with kindness, courtesy, and respect, in the end, NONE of these things were afforded to me. After 3 years of many costly treatments, the manager Debbie lacked the class or even the simplest grace to return my phone call to apologize for Erika's unprofessional and undignified behavior. The bottom line is that as an individual, you have a right to chose how you look and what you want for yourself, and a colorist with control-issues has no right to take that away from you. But, if you enjoy throwing your money away, being berated, and looking like you are ready to attend a Sci-Fi convention, then Adolf Biecker is the salon for you. read more

I have been going to Adolf Biecker in Strafford for a few years. I have done a lot of traveling for my job so have been very lucky to have experienced some very nice spa/salons around the country. Adolf Biecker does a very nice job of providing a sophisticated, relaxing and comfortable setting. My typical services are haircut/style, hair color and customized (full) facial. Haircut/style -- Rachel is AMAZING, really listens to what you want, will offer suggestions based on my hair, and what a sweetie! Not long ago I made the big decision to have several inches of length cut off and she did a fabulous job -- love my new cut! Hair color -- I've had color done by Kristen at both the Strafford and Rittenhouse locations. I'll follow her anywhere. She's a very skilled colorist, very professional and also a sweet girl. Facials -- you haven't really had a facial until you've had Stacey give you one. It's a relaxing, zen-like experience given by an extremely knowledgeable skincare professional who REALLY knows her stuff. Gabby is also really, really good. If you're lucky enough to get in with either of them, you and your skin are in very good hands and in for a treat! The staff at the front counter have always been very helpful to me, but I am most familiar with Dawn and she's great. read more

I booked Adolf Biecker three weeks before my wedding, as I had a major disaster with the original salon. They were INCREDIBLE! Dawn, the bridal consultant, was SO organized and wonderful. She flawlessly put together six hair appointments and five make-up appointments three weeks before the big day, oversaw every step, even the morning of the wedding, and she checked in on us throughout the morning to ensure all was going as planned. The one stylist who did my bridesmaids hair was wonderful; all of them looked stunning! The two women who did the make-up were incredible as well - no one looked overdone but all looked stunning. We were all so pleased. Above all, Christy was perfect - she gave me advice about my hair, was dead on with it, and my hair was perfect and stayed together ALL DAY, even though I had it done at 10am and finished up the night around 11pm. It still had all stayed, nothing was taken out, and everyone complimented me on it. I had purchased hair extensions a week before the appointment, and she clipped them in so no one knew my hair wasn't all real. Every guest was stunned when I told them. I couldn't have been happier. HIGHLY recommend them!! read more

I got the worst haircut of my life here. As a new client I asked for a specific stylist recommended by a friend. I was informed that he/she was booked up for the forseeable future. I was assured that (name) was equally talented and experienced and could take me within two weeks, so I booked the appointment. Bad move. The stylist RAZORED my super-fine hair without even asking first... I didn't realize he/she was even using a razor (it looked like a thin comb) until half my head had been razored. The resulting haircut was so awful,. Not only had he/she cut too much of my hair and very poorly, but the razor had removed any volume I had, replacing it with jagged split ends. After wearing a hat for a week whenever possible, I ended up going back to another stylist at the salon who did her best to fix the mess. Props to that stylist who did what she could, and to the manager who had the stylist do it at no charge. Wasn't thrilled with the "fix" but they made an effort. There are probably good stylists here, but beware if you are a new client--you are at the mercy of whoever answers the phone and he/she may assign you to the least experienced stylist. read more
