They had a small pool which I wanted to note first because it's what my kids were exciting about! We stayed here during our overnight stay in Carmel. It's a cute place with parking available underground. There is a small elevator from the parking area to the other floors but it is super tiny so can only fit so many people. I felt like having just four of us in there with our baggage was pushing it already in the elevator. It is run down and breakfast was not served because of Covid-19, which is understandable. The location of the place is central to a lot of restaurants and shopping so we would love to stay here again.

check-in was smooth and easy...free parking...great central location to restaurants, shops and carmel beach...great front desk staff...even preheated the small pool warmer on request...some positives, but more negatives...roughly $300 a night on weekdays...room doors use actual keys...the building has a old worn motel feel....outdoor stairs and walkways to room...no room service and everything must be requested (covid restrictions)...the interiors are quite aged and worn badly....bathroom was equally poor with barely functioning toilet...needing a plunger handy just to flush toilet paper...room is equally sad...entire room in need of a full remodel...

We enjoyed our stay! The room was large and clean. We enjoyed the fireplace- even in June! The location was very good and underground parking was free! I'd book again!

My wife, son and I stayed at Adobe Inn the weekend of 7/24-7/26, and unfortunately I have to report that we were not satisfied with our stay for a number of reasons. I booked through Hotels.com and, as per the listing on the site, breakfast for two people was included in the price of the room. When we arrived and checked in, we were told that not only would breakfast not be served, but that our room would not be cleaned daily, either. We were not expecting this. Strikes one and two. I understand that due to Covid-19 that certain concessions and limitations must be implemented, which would have been easier to accept had these concessions extended to the price of the room. We paid a total of $632.59 for two nights, an average of $316.30 per day, and to not have the aforementioned basic services was disappointing to say the least. There were cheaper alternatives where we could have stayed if we were looking for bare amenities. Next, we were also informed that a coffee maker and associated supplies would be provided upon request only. We asked to have a coffee maker etc. brought to the room, and it was promptly delivered shortly after we got to the room. It wasn't until Sunday morning that we realized that the 'Best By' date on the coffee packaging had expired! The decaf packages were dated September 2019 and the regular packages were dated May 2020. (I have attached pictures with this review). We called the front desk and reported the issue, and were told that non-expired coffee packages would be brought up to the room (though, no apology was given). Ten minutes or so later, we received a call from the front desk and were informed that they were only able to find non-expired coffee packages for decaf; they did not have any for regular. We declined as we do not drink decaf. We were told that there were many great coffee places in the area (really?). Again, no apology was given. Strike three. Suffice to say, I will avoid this hotel upon subsequent visits.

My fiancé and I are currently in California for business and decided to visit Carmel by the sea for the weekend. We ended up booking a second floor ocean view room at the Adobe Inn at the urging of my fiancés boss. To be honest, I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did, but I enjoyed my stay. For one, I had the best nights rest I've had all week at this place lol. The beds weren't super soft, but they weren't hard either. The staff at the front desk were extremely polite and made recommendations regarding food and things to do. The hotel is also right in the heart of town and extremely close to all the shops. Everything is a walkable distance and very convenient. Also the place provides parking so you don't have to worry about your car. The only criticisms are when reservations were made, we were told we would get a complementary breakfast. However, upon our arrival we were told there wasn't breakfast due to covid. Also the elevator located in the garage is scary and extremely small! Lol...never seen an elevator that small. Besides this two things, I would definitely visit this inn again.

We booked one of the double rooms with a fireplace. While the room itself was fine, the walls and ceilings are extremely thin. From around 9pm to 1:00 AM, we could clearly hear footsteps from the room above us, along with conversations. It didn't seem like the guests upstairs were being intentionally disruptive -- it felt more like an issue with how the property is built and the lack of sound insulation. We did call the front desk and asked if they could notify the guests upstairs. After that, they were more mindful of their steps, which we appreciated, but we could still hear them trying to whispering. We chose this property because we were looking for a peaceful place to rest, reset, and enjoy quiet evenings. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. For the amount we paid for a weekend stay, we expected much better soundproofing and overall comfort. Sadly, we won't be returning or recommending this property to our family or friends.

Putting aside the price itself, the far bigger issue was how incredibly rude and dismissive she was toward my wife during the conversation. After we expressed concerns, we were referred to the General Manager. I emailed the GM and heard absolutely nothing for over a week despite leaving multiple voicemails. After trying a third time, I finally received a return phone call. I was told my email was never received. We explained how poorly the event coordinator treated us and that we had specifically been directed to management. Initially, the GM seemed understanding. She spoke about how small the kitchen is and how larger parties can impact other guests' experiences. She said she'd try to help, recommend alternative venues if needed, and asked me to email details again. I thought we were finally making progress. Then things somehow got worse. After sending the email, I received what was obviously an accidental phone call. During the call, the GM appeared to be speaking with a colleague and was talking negatively about me for absolutely no reason. I heard comments about how she receives lots of emails and assumes many are spam until someone sends a second email, and that she handles voicemails similarly. Hearing that level of disregard for guests regardless of how serious or beneficial the inquiry might be for the business was honestly shocking. At that point, any chance of earning our business disappeared. Even if I receive an apology, I will never spend a dollar at this establishment. The ownership seriously needs to evaluate the management team because I've never felt so disrespected by a restaurant in my life. Extremely disappointing experience from start to finish. Unfortunately can't say anything about the food and never will.
