Mediterranean salad with salmon
Ian M.

This was my first time in the Pittsburgh AC and I'm happy to report I enjoyed every minute of it. The PIT Admiral's Club is now open 7 days a week. Several others have noted their hours as a complaint, worry no more! The space is great and not crowded at all, despite being in at a busy time. Plenty of seating was available throughout. As always, snacks and drinks were readily available. This time around, I ordered the Mediterranean salad with salmon. At a price point of $20 total, it's a great deal for a healthy meal before your next flight. The greens were very fresh. The bartender was very pleasant and fast with service. I hope she's working again next time I'm in town!

I travel to PIT occasionally for business and on a recent trip got to enjoy the AA lounge while waiting for my plane to board.... I have to say that THIS is the preferred way to spend time waiting for your flight! I don't want to increase the amount of people that come here (unless you're going to be QUIET, COURTEOUS and RESPECTFUL), but it's worth knowing that there are better ways to wait for your flight than with all the amateur travelers with their families and annoyances. (I have a family and taught my child how to travel at an early age, something he's now quite well-adapted at and he's never run amuck in the terminal, crawled on the dirty floor nor bugged others.) This lounge was very laid back, quiet and allowed me to be effective in getting a lot of work done in the nearly 2 hours I waited there before heading to my terminal. The staff was very attentive and active in ensuring all the guests had a good experience. In fact, I saw a few guests who knew the staff because they come here often and the staff treated them just as great as they did a first timer, like me. I just wish the AA lounges would do a better job with their food (gratis) offerings, like the Centurion Lounges do. I'm a member at both and prefer the Centurion 10X over the AA lounges... I'm glad I don't pay for this lounge, it's not worth the fee. But for free, it's great!

Best sunset views

One of the cleanest clubs I've ever been to and has the best food out of any other club and I've been to many and excellent service as well. Always greeted with a smile and make you feel welcome. if I could give it 10 stars, I would.

Pittsburgh admiral's club is CLOSED on the weekends. Is my membership fee reduced by 2/7ths? What a piece of cr#p! Another reason to fly United.

Definitely not worth the 450 dollars a year price tag. Some coffee, pop, few chips , humus, guacamole. Really?

Very disappointing. Recently joined and the club is basically free coffee. Not exactly worth the cost to join.

Walking in the girl who greeted us was so sweet, she scanned us all in and was truly pleasant and seemed to enjoy her job, wonderful first impression! The lounge was quite big with multiple rooms, a full bar, bathrooms/ showers, the food offers were not a ton but what they did offer was good, great salad bar, which i really appreciated after eating out for the last few days I needed something green! A few soups, spinach Artichokes dip with chips, and perogies! Yum! With all the fixings too, onions, bacon, sauerkraut and sour cream. So good! Lots of space to sit and enjoy, plenty of plugs to charge up too. Great way to spend you layover.

Ample seating was available initially didn't see the large open area where the bar is Food options for the morning were decent. Got a bagel, muffin, yogurt, and they had sausage, egg, hot oats, cereal and drinks available and a soda fountain for other drinks. They had a full bathroom too which was neat. Overall a decent place to hang out before a flight.

Our server was excellent and the auxiliary staff were courteous and efficient. We started with a calamari appetizer which was a little spicy but delicious. Beware of the two Thai chilies in the mix! Next my husband had the lobster bisque. It was quite rich with a large chunk of lobster as a garnish. Our main courses were a 10 ounce filet, wild caught shrimp stuffed with crabmeat and Chilean sea bass. Everyone loved their entrees. Our son especially loved the filet, it was so tender. We ordered two side dishes for the table and they were plenty for the three of us. Decadent lobster mashed potatoes and crabmeat fried rice. We shared a dessert, creme brûlée which was topped with fresh berries and served with chewy cocoa snowflake cookies. Overall the food was excellent. Service started out a little rocky. I had made a reservation online and it would only let me choose a high top. We don't like high tops so I called the restaurant a few days before and they assured me they could accommodate us with a regular table, not to worry. Upon entering and giving my name for the reservation, the Maitre D'être said it's for a high top. I explained that I'd called and we didn't want a high top. He said he could only offer us a booth in the lounge, so we took it. The lounge had a jazz trio playing and the music was a bit too loud for comfortable conversation. The server had to talk above the music to be heard by us. Luckily they took a break and when they came back the volume was lower. As we were leaving I noticed there was a whole dining room with empty tables which were NOT high tops. So why did they seat us in the lounge? Our drink orders were pretty simple, however because they serve the cocktails from the shaker, the server mixed up the dinks and poured my husband's margarita into my 'dirty' martini glass. So I had a three blue cheese olive margarita! A margarita-tini! He realized what he did, apologized and ran off to get another margarita for my husband. I had eaten the olives and tasted the margarita, which was very good. When he returned, he asked if I still wanted the martini and I laughed and said, yes, that what I ordered. So my husband got the benefit of two Margaritas for the price of one and I got three extra blue cheese olives! That was the only goof up. The rest of the meal was flawlessly served. I felt that even though the prices are high, the portion size and the quality of the food provide a good value. You expect to pay more in a place like this. It was well worth it in my opinion. And if you are there during Happy Hour you can choose cocktails and appetizers from the Happy Hour menu which is quite reasonable.

The Wheelhouse restaurant is located in the Rivers Casino where the adjoining Landing Hotel gets…read moretheir room service meals from. The hotel provides a QR code to make an online order for meals. We ordered a steak which included a salad and a Philly cheesesteak sandwich and fries for both meals to be delivered to our room for dinner. In the additional instructions I requested ketchup to go with our fries. I placed our order online about 6:50 and the app said to expect our food by 7:15. There was a service charge, a gratuity and a delivery fee all added to the bill and then the tax was charged. Anyway, for starters, our food showed up late about 7:35. Okay, it was dinner time and I'm sure they were busy but don't specify a time if you can't make it work. Now the worst part was that there were no utensils or napkins included with our food so I guess we were expected to eat with our hands?!? I'm referring to the steak and salad. Oh, there was no ketchup either. I tried to run after the delivery guy but he was long gone. Because I ran out after the delivery guy, I forgot to grab my room key & when returning from the lobby, I couldn't return to my floor because you need a room key to activate the floor buttons in the elevator. I did manage to get some utensils, napkins and ketchup from the bar in the hotel so I wouldn't have to go all the way to the Casino and look for the restaurant and I got lucky in the elevator as another couple who got in were going to the same floor as me. By the time I got back, my girlfriend was so annoyed even though I had gotten utensils so she called the restaurant to make a complaint. The girl who answered the phone apparently has zero customer service training as when she was told our meals were delivered with no utensils, she had no response. When told we had to go get utensils from the bar in our hotel, she replied in a sarcastic tone "So what do you want?" My girlfriend said how about an apology. Dead silence on the other end of the phone. Now my girlfriend was pissed so she just hung up the phone. Customer service rating: zero stars! So, how was the food you might wonder? Well, it's hard to enjoy your meal after receiving such horrible service. My girlfriend's steak was cooked properly but she didn't enjoy it at all. I don't think we're ever going to try and dine in the actual restaurant because of this.
