The cost of testing has risen approximately 25% like everything else from 12$ & change to 16$ & change they accept checks , cards & I don't know about cash? I recommend you go online to see if & when open & also gives estimated wait times. I do believe the tag renewal is staggered at beginning to mid month & mid month to end of month .Wait times might be longer before the deadlines? Also phoenix & Tucson biggest Arizona cities are required for emission testing ? A friend with several cars and vacation home on mount Lemmon had his mail go to mt Lemmon P.O. Box to avoid emissions testing & maybe to visit more often? My last experience the best during weekday late am no wait so I'll give 5 stars for the staffs service , although with recent federal slashing of public agencies we still have emission testing requirements in Arizona's two largest cities . Been to this emissions testing site before and I've always had a great experience. Today I went right at noon and was expecting it to be busy as it was lunch time but there were only 2 cars in front of me. They are super fast, efficient and friendly. My gas cap needed replacing, they do that for you at no charge, so I was out of there in 20 mins with a new gas cap and a smog certificate for just over $16. read more

Needed my car run through emissions to get new tags. My car is a 2004 Toyota Rav, and her name is Ella. I keep her in good condition, so emissions is not a big deal as far as worry. I think I waited 10 minutes until my car was up. The staff were so professional and nice. No one likes going to emissions, but this emissions site has been my go to place since I moved back to Tucson in 2018. Shout out to the staff there. People notice the positive attitude. Is this the one on frontage road near Prince Road? I was just there. Hell. That's what these workers have to deal with...Hell on Earth. They breathe in the fumes all day, and the HEAT...ALL DAY!! There should be something that can be done for them. The overhead misters can't do very much. What about special cooling vests? Call NASA, maybe they've got something.... call MIT, have them invent something? Do they rotate every two hours? Maybe two hours outside and one hour in a comfort room? Just a thought. I honestly feel bad for them. Plus, they were very nice and professional, and I heard no complaining from them. WOW. I wouldn't last a day. read more
