Phenomenal doctor- atrociously rude staff. I wish I could legally record the phone conversations I have had with the front office. The last one I had I was straight up harassed by the admin lady. I called a few months ago for an urgent matter and got told there weren't appointment slots open for months so I should just go to the ER. I called a week later during normal business hours (not lunch)- and they didn't pick up. I left a voicemail and never got a call back. So I called again two weeks ago and the lady on the phone gave me the complete run-around and did everything in her power to not book me an appointment. I haven't had a call that bad in about 10 years. First she told me there weren't appointments for months-I said that's ok, I still want to book. Then she told me I cancelled an appointment at the last minute [false btw] back in 2018 so they didn't want to "give me an appointment if I was just going to cancel it". She cut me off as I was explaining my integrity and how I would never and have never cancelled outside of the office's policy. Then she told me it's been so long they need my updated insurance card so I should email it and then they'll call me back for an appointment. It's been two weeks and still no call. I wish I could express what a patient and easy going person I am but oh boy.... This office tests my limits. They're just plain rude. It's such a shame for a great doctor to have a staff that makes life impossible. Overall do not recommend. Look elsewhere for care. read more

So frustrated and upset!!! I was a new patient for dr ahsan last june. I triple verified that she took my insurance. I went into my appointment and payed my $70.00 co-pay. A couple weeks later i get a bill for over $200.00. When i investigated the charge her office people told me that they do accept healthnet but not my particular group insurance!!! Now like I said i triple verified that they took my insurance!!! I handed them my card with my particular insurance group information clearly on my card and was never told they didn't accept my insurance!!! They of course are not taking responsibility for this misinformation and i am being charge over $200.00.. The sad thing about this is Dr Ahsan was fabulous!! but this lack of responsibility on their part is so upsetting and really puts me in financial distress. So again i cannot afford health insurance!!!! read more

I waited 4-6 weeks to see Dr. Ahsan who was not taking new patients. I arrive today and am required to complete a waiver of rights form, that would eliminate my rights to seek a malpractice case in a court of law, and would only allow an arbitrator to review a malpractice case and decide on the outcome. The arbitrator is from the medical field, and is usually on the side of the doctor that caused harm when these cases arise. I refused to sign this document and was told it was mandatory if I wanted to seek care at their office. If there was more focus on a higher standard of care towards patients, rather than the dollars earned, or how to avoid a lawsuit from poor care, then we all might benefit and reap the rewards of a medical system that is patient focused. Be careful what you sign. You might end up a victim of poor care, and then have no rights or claims thereafter. I have never been to a doctor that requires me to sign this waiver of rights, and hope that no one signs this type of document. Go find a doctor that cares for their patients more than whether you are going to sue them for there poor level of care. I hope there still some these doctor's out there! read more

My disappointment is the wait. If you can't make the appointment time, don't allow it to be scheduled. When you do get to see her she is nice and thorough but with it being a worked day and almost waiting close to an hour after my appointment is unacceptable. Also, their office walls are so thin. Early on in my relationship with her and her staff I would get annoyed and impatient if the wait time was 20 to 30 minutes but she heard me and she would schedule me at times where she had more time and in the last 2 years a staff member would call to let me know if she was running late. She denied me desperately needed care. This is so sad that ANOTHER female doctor from Blue Shield has lied to me and restricted my access to basic services. I cannot express enough how important it was for me to see someone. She is booked up until 2020 and won't follow the contract in place with Blue Shield. Dr Adeela Ahsan Is A Wonderful Dr. I am so happy I have her back as my primary Physician, I was not seeing her for a year due to insurance, I am so happy to have her back, now that my insurance is accepted in her office. She is one caring Dr, she takes her time, one time I wanted for 45 min in my room for her and she apologised for taking time with her elderly patients, how sweet was that! She is well worth any wait, she is very sweet caring and wonderful to all her patients, she takes time to listen very closely to your needs. Her staff in the office is exceptional, as soon as test results come back they give you call right away, if you need a referral to a specialist it is done quickly. The do their very best to assist you in any way. Waited 2 months to get in to see her for a follow up appointment. Took off work to be there. Was called 1 hour before before my appointment to be told that my appointment was canceled and that I could come in later that day. I, of course, couldn't come later that day because I don't sit around with nothing to do. They then told me the next available appointment would be in May. Another month to wait. I asked if the doctor could just call me with my test results and was told that it would cost a fee for her to call me. Let me get this straight, you cancel on me, then want to charge me just to call me with my test results? Unethical. But that is because so many people have discovered what an excellent doctor she is that too many people want an appointment with her. I have been a patient of Dr. Adeela for 5 years. Excellent doctor, she is hands down the best in town. She is great at what she does. She is so kind and sweet, and at the same time very professional. She gives you her full attention and time. I trust her with my life. She has helped me keep track of my health and found out some important issues which i hadnt known before due to how thorough and careful she is. I have gone in for minor illnesses, some injuries, and prolonged disease management. She is amazing at what she does, and always remembers all the details in each visit. That being said, however, it comes with price. i have had to wait for an hour quite often by the time i got to see her. And they have the nerve to tell me its my third time im 5 mins late to the appt. You get three chances whether you've been with them for one year or five. Appointment scheduling normally took a week but she still saw me the same day at times, which was very sweet. The caveat is that it is almost impossible to get in touch with her via phone or email without an appointment even if you mention that it is an urgent matter! Also between two doctors that i visited in the hospital, with over 50 visits in my time as being their patient, the receptionist Edith still doesnt recogniz me. I have seen their employees come and go but in general their response at reception should have been more courteous and personalized. Staff service and hospitality has room for improvement (not the nurses though, they are darlings.) Dr. Adeelas follow up used to be amazing, and no doubt she is still the best so i still do highly recommend her. But i dont know if she has too many patients now, but i feel the follow up isn't the same anymore. She has her own practice in an office room in the Hoag building on the second floor. The place is always clean and the nurses are very sweet, especially Mary. They also have their own drawsite in the office with a very sweet elderly man who is so gentle at taking your blood. Or if you go down the corridoor there is a quest so you can immediatley get your blood work done. This is very convenient. All in all, if you dont mind the waits, i strongly recommend her as a doctor. She is worth it. read more

When I first met Dr. Ahsan I was truly amazed by her demeanor. She actually sat down and had a conversation with me. Those of you who have been dealing with corporate medicine know how rare that is in this day and age. Before I went to her office I had been to half a dozen Doctors whose only goal appeared to be to sell me a variety of overpriced Vitamins and supplements. With that in mind I told Dr. Ahsan that I had certain prerequisites for a Doctor. First she must be a competent Doctor who could talk to me in English rather than Medicalese. Secondly she must be able to diagnose a problem rather than just throw some drugs around and hope that the symptoms subsided. Lastly she must have a sense of humor. I am happy to say that Dr. Ahsan exceeded my expectations one hundred times over. So if you are as sick and tired as I was of Corporate Assembly Line Medicine then Give Dr. Ahsan a call and you will find yourself with a Doctor that will take the time to discuss your health issues with you and be able to diagnose what the problem may be.
