How does a place this neat exist in Largo of all places? I mean really, what gives? I had this spot bookmarked for a while, and made it my midpoint for meeting up with friends in Clearwater. The girl who rang me up was super nice, the ambiance here is wonderful, and the seating is ridiculously comfortable (at least the one I had!). I could definitely see myself hanging out here on a regular basis working on... Something. They serve Buddy Brew, which I've found I'm not a huge fan of, but since it was an inferno outside, I ordered an iced coffee and actually liked it. I'm not sure if that means I have to limit my BB intake to iced or what, but frankly I don't care. I just wish this place was a little closer to me! A couple of us needed to meet, & we had heard great things about this coffee house. It was pretty good, but not excellent. We each ordered a flavored latte. After ordering, the barista came back & said they were out of the flavor we wanted. So we picked s second flavor & learned moments later they didn't have any of that flavor. A 3rd flavor, coconut, was chosen & that they had. When the lattes arrived we noticed the flavoring was exceptionally weak. But then as we got near the end of the drink, suddenly the flavoring of coconut was intense. We realized our drinks had never been stirred after they put the flavoring syrup on the bottom of the cups. We got there at 6 pm, & at 7 pm we got booted out. This is a very chill spot, calling in to question what is happening in Largo. What do I mean? I mean I never really associated Largo with a place like this but I am happy to change my mind! We were warmly greeted as we entered this large and cozy spot. They have plenty of seating both inside and out, a comfy couch, board games, a cool "fireplace", plenty of reading material, free wifi, and best of all... awesome Buddy Brew coffee!!! The barista was very friendly and enthusiastic to ensure our beverages were made to our liking. Also, they have tasty hand made cookies, muffins, and sandwiches with Boar's Head meats. While talking to the proprietor, she said they were planning to have a "coffee tap" in the spring with cold brew coffee, in a keg, with nitrogen gas. First time visiting the The Haus Coffee Shop. Honestly outside it doesn't look like much and they are on the far right side of the plaza so it can be easy to miss them. BUT if you venture inside you will not be disappointed ! Once you enter you are going to be surprised. It's much larger on the inside then it looks. They have comfortable couches, tables and a small bar to sit at. Also the decor is easy on the eyes, darker rich tones with accent lights. Sets for a comfy cozy have a coffee while you work environment. Loved it! They also support local artists which is amazing! On the far wall they have multiple pieces that you can enjoy to look at or purchase if you please. Now getting down to business. I ordered a regular hot medium size coffee. The coffee was flavorful and decently priced. I much rather come here than some of the major chains. They have earned my business! read more

A quaint coffee shop for Largo natives who didn't even know that it existed. **check into Yelp for 15% off** When I arrived, I was welcomed with an array of empty tables, which is any college student's dream. I ordered the turkey and gouda sandwich on wheat rye, which was actually pretty good especially for the price. The cashier raved about the matcha latte, which I got iced. However, I'm thinking that I should've gotten it hot and with sweeteners to have given it the same praise that she did. This place is really popping off. Definitely one of the best cafe in this area. It is hidden behind a bunch of trees so you can't see it as you're driving down East Bay, but it's definitely worth looking for it. When I first walked it, I was already impressed with the decoration. It's hipster-y, but that's definitely not a bad thing. It kept clean and feels really cozy without feeling crowded. When I went, there were people chatting, study, doing work, and just browsing the internet so this place is really perfect for everything. They've got tables as well as couches so you'll be comfortable. If you're just here to hang out, they have board games as well. The service was good. The barista who took my order was friendly and sociable. They don't roast their own beans, which is regrettable, but they serve Buddy Brew, which is one of the best roaster in the Tampa Bay area. Since there's already a great roaster in the area, it makes sense for them to focus on on brewing, and hot diggity, did the barista make a great cup of latte! (Tip: you can buy coffee beans here and make your own coffee at home) Though I didn't have any, they serve food (sandwiches, pastries, etc.) as well. I'll definitely have to try some the next time I come. In addition, they have craft beer so they serve two of my favorite things in one place. It's nestled in a typical Plaza, but offers delicious coffee Brews, homemade desserts, and a great atmosphere for pulling out your laptop, listening to some good soft music, and people watching. Why 5 stars? Because this is cold drink of water in the middle of the desert. --- --- --- I try to see the good in all places, especially parts of the Tampa Bay area. But I don't think it's untrue to say that Largo is not exactly the trendy epicenter of TB. Don't get me wrong, there are definitely some gems in Largo (shoutout to Barley Mow) but overall, there's a lot of Old Florida here. However, the Haus could fit in to any part of the Bay Area and not look out of place - Seminole Heights, DTSP, etc. Maybe in ten years, when Largo has become a hot spot for cool local businesses, we'll say it all started with the Haus aka the pioneer of the Largo movement. And what's crazy about that, is that it's in the middle of a strip center, but is still super cool! As for details on the place itself? The drink menu is very extensive, so it's hard to imagine coming here and not finding the drink for you, whether it's coffee or tea. We did not eat during our visit, but we did hang out here and work for a few hours. My favorite thing about a coffee shop that I need to work in, is when they have comfortable seating. The Haus definitely checks that box, as there are more traditional tables to sit at, or couches/padded chairs if you're looking to alleviate that pressure on your back. They even have outside seating, which we were tempted to take advantage of on a lovely March afternoon. Next time I'm in the area and need a boost of caffeine, this will be my destination for sure! read more

Service was not good. Ordered a large Iced Mocha they gave me a medium. Tasted like pure syrup. The place is cool otherwise. Lots of parking and games inside to play. Tucked away in the corner of East Bay Plaza in Largo is The Haus Coffee Shop, a gem of a local business. With a bit of hipster flair in the air one is instantly sold on the thought, "damn, I'll bet the coffee is on-point!" Moments later, your suspicions are likely to be confirmed. Granted I'm not into the sweetened "foo-foo" beverages, if you will, that's right I'm one of those labeled "sociopaths" who loves the taste of the bean that is black coffee! None the less, I was treated to a very flavorful roast indeed that was a nice departure from the rubber-stamped Starbucks and Dunkin' blends on every third block corner in Pinellas County (and the country for that matter). I stopped in around 11 o'clock on a Thursday and was afforded ample seating options. Hmmm...high top? High top bar? Traditional table? ...ahhh, there's a nice plush leather couch (could've been pleather, I didn't look too closely). I nestled in with my brew and a good read. After an hour or so I figured I needed a little food in my gullet, so I ordered a sandwich and a cup of Boar's Head gluten-free turkey chili (not that I'm gluten intolerant, that's just how they tagged it). The turkey and gouda sandwich (also made with Boar's Head products) was reasonably good, but not mind-blowing, served with a small cup of what I guess one may call "artisan" pickles (the sweet ones, not dill) and your choice of a bag of chips (Frito-Lays products) or a banana. The chili was hearty and served at a very satisfying molten-lava temperature which was nice on a brisk Florida 50s December day. This is the type of place I could see myself spending mornings on my weekdays off reading and sippin' that caffeinated nectar of the gods. Seriously, the coffee served is really doggone good. A friend of mine also confirmed it is a true diamond in the rough as a location to get some good studying in, in case y'all are living that "student life." ...it's also worth noting they serve craft beer (for those who visit in the afternoon, or those in need of an "eye-opener" I guess) and they offer a small AAA discount and apparently a 15% discount if you check in on Yelp. read more
