I had a very disappointing experience with Addario's Services and would strongly recommend getting other quotes before agreeing to their paid consultation. I called about a straightforward gas range connection using a new flexible gas connector. Before scheduling, I tried to get an approximate price or even a price range. Addario's would not provide one. Instead, I was told that they offer "competitive pricing" and that I would need to pay a **$59 consultation fee** for a technician to come out and provide the price. The technician arrived, spent considerable time preparing the estimate, and then presented a quote of **$950 PLUS permit fees**. When I declined, the technician called his supervisor in front of me and put him on speakerphone. The supervisor firmly reiterated that this was their price and told me that I was getting a good deal. The whole process felt like a high-pressure sales routine rather than a straightforward estimate. I subsequently contacted another licensed plumber and received a quote of **$365 for the same scope of work**. That's less than 40% of Addario's $950 price, before even considering Addario's additional permit fees. My issue isn't simply that Addario's is expensive. Every company can set its own prices. My problem is the process: they wouldn't provide even an approximate price before charging me $59 to come to the house, represented themselves as offering competitive pricing, then revealed a $950+ quote only after the technician was there, followed by a speakerphone conversation with a supervisor telling me it was a good deal. Had they told me beforehand that this type of job would be approximately $950 plus permit fees, I never would have scheduled a $59 consultation. My advice: **get another quote before paying Addario's for a consultation.** read more

I spent $30k on the full Addario's package -- new HVAC system, ducting, hot water heater. Five years later, it's caused uncountable headaches and thousands of dollars in extra utility bills. Horrible service, installers trashed my house, damaged property. It was June 2020, crazy COVID times, I was pregnant, my husband worked with vulnerable adults -- the installers whined CONSTANTLY about wearing masks. Like, both the workers and Joe Addario himself (over the phone) were screaming at me about it ("WHY WON'T I WEAR A MASK!? BECAUSE I'M NOT A WOMAN!" Cool.) Joe was a trip. He sent his teenage son, on high school summer break, to work on the crew? Oh. My. God. What a maroon. Just one of many incidents: the kid stood on top of a ladder to cut a hole for the return with a Sawzall, and started crying and yelling and swearing about getting drywall in his eyes. Like... if only something could have prevented this? I guess PPE is for women. Speaking of the return: I found out two and a half years later that it was too small. HALF the size it needed to be. I found this out after my furnace started failing due to restricted airflow. Around that same time, I found out that the system had never been inspected by the city, like I had paid for. That's right, they took my money, didn't get it inspected. There were a handful of other installation issues that I raised after completion that didn't get fixed at ALL until I put my foot down about the return size (again, 2+ years after initial installation). Some of the issues (like ducts meandering in random paths or blocking doors) I just fixed myself. Joe did fix the return size. As there were basically no other companies that service this crazy system they installed and the situation was dire, I asked for servicing and maintenance. Joe said that if I took down my original 1-star 2020 review I could "we can start over fresh together." Fine, whatever, I took the review down. They scheduled an appointment and then... ghosted me. Didn't show up. I called the office, they said I was on the "do not schedule list." (so then, why schedule?) Surprise, surprise, Joe lied and just wanted the review taken down. THEN (four years into the nightmare) I found out that the attic ducts had been leaking air into the uninsulated attic -- probably the whole time. There were also some issues with the dampers that I had to get another tech out to fix because I just couldn't get airflow into some of the upstairs rooms (wasn't a big deal for a while because the rooms weren't often used) Now (five years later!) the heat pump has just given out. It's done. Failed just in time for the big heat wave last month! Hooray! Like, I've gotten *divorced* but signing that contract with Addario's was the biggest mistake of my life. read more

Repeated failures: Not the technician's fault, but how the business is run is poor, at best. $300 to just make an appointment (charged my card only to schedule it) when we lost heat, waited over 12 hours in the cold for the guy to arrive- who told me he had just be told of the appointment, that it had never been on the books, then another $300+ for the service. Second time we lost heat- same thing, I thought it was a fluke- nope. Now- I made an appointment to get a quote to either fully replace or repair our furnace- and I get a text the morning of the appointment cancelling it as they have their facts wrong. No phone call, just a text, after I rearranged a work day to clear time for this appointment. AI answers your calls, makes appointments that are not actually available. Overall- may have been good at one point- but too expensive, irregular service, and huge fees for lackluster service and a really frustrating AI at the administrative level to work with. The firm has hired nice technicians, and I understand it is not their fault- but I have lost faith in their honesty and integrity. I am finding a new firm to handle this (potentially) large project. read more

Two men showed up to estimate a fairly simple installation of a new Rinnai On-Demand gas water heater, which I purchased 5 years ago, to be plumbed in series with the existing electric water heater, so that the electric one would never have to heat cold water again. (Many plumbers I spoke with, including the people at Addario's, expressed that that would be a terrific money-saving idea.) After nearly two hours, they presented me with a $7,000+ quote and told me they wouldn't do the job as specified and would need to add a brass circulating pump and would need to feed the electric water heater with ice-cold water. As agreed, I paid them $149 for the quote and kicked them off of my property. What an absolute waste of time! Even if they had agreed to do the job the way I wanted it done, I'd NEVER PAY OVER $7000.00 for a 5-6 hour job! I can't believe they're still in business charging more than my attorney charges! There must be some really stupid people with more money than brains who'd pay Addario's prices! Don't go NEAR these idiots. read more

called and scheduled service with a "bot", later received live call from Debbie, who rescheduled to a week later (their convenience, not mine) expected them this am with a 7a-11a window- no call/no show and when I called, again "bot" recording said my appointment was for 2:30-4:30 (not so, I have a conflict) When I was finally able to speak with someone live, I was asked to give them another chance...no offer of waiving the service fee for my inconvenience etc Like everyone else, my time is valuable and Addario wasted it. I would not recommend their service to anyone and suggest you do the same if you value TIMELY service read more

Avoid at all costs We have had a terrible experience using Addarios and would strongly caution anyone considering them for HVAC work. We decided on Addarios installing a new heat pump to replace our failed AC (to go with an already existing furnace for heat in wintertime). Since the installation, we have had ongoing issues with the heat. How it went down: Addarios installed a heat pump and an accompanying new thermostat in summer 2025. To their credit, they moved quickly, finishing the job in about 9 hours. As soon as colder weather arrived in October 2025, the issues began. We realized our auxiliary heat (furnace) would not turn on despite the temperature moving past the pre-set threshold we had set, when the system was supposed to switch from heat pump to furnace. The furnace was fine before Addarios work. We asked them to fix it. We were told parts were needed, only to later be told the issue was "misdiagnosed" weeks later and didn't require additional parts. Fine. On a November visit, their technician supposedly fixed the issue, after which our furnace worked but the thermostat began to constantly shut off and reboot). At that point, I contacted the thermostat manufacturer. I was hoping perhaps a faulty thermostat was the issue. The manufacturer confirmed the issue was power-related and triggered when auxiliary heat engaged, the thermostat was fine. So we got another Addario's technician out who claimed the furnace transformer was "failing", that our warranty doesn't cover the furnace (fair enough), and it would be $600 to replace it. It did seem odd though, considering the furnace had worked without issue the previous winter. We were skeptical and declined any additional work until speaking with the Addarios office. But 30 minutes after the technician left, our heat had stopped working entirely. The thermostat would not power on and we had no heat (early December). This is where things started to go downhill fast. I immediately contacted Addarios and was told no one would come back unless we paid for additional work on the furnace, even though the heat had been working when they arrived and failed to turn on only after they left. It was if they thought we were lying to them for some reason. They had quite literally left us in the cold. We had no choice but to call another HVAC company for emergency service to get our heat back on. They found the issue immediately: A common wire had been left completely disconnected by the Addarios tech. Once reattached ($300 later), the thermostat and furnace turned on again, though was still experiencing the initial re-booting issue. They also tested the furnace transformer and confirmed it was working fine. I contacted a second HVAC tech (another $300) who attempted to switch us to the heat pump as our source of heat in the meantime. It did not turn on. He found out the wireless transmitter/receiver that Addarios had installed for the heat pump was faulty (he called the manufacturer to confirm this). He advised us to get our initial installers to directly wire the heat pump instead of relying on a seemingly unreliable wireless system. Since then I have been reaching out to Addarios for three weeks now to try to get this fixed with no response. My calls and emails go unanswered. All said, this has been one of the most frustrating and stressful service experiences I've ever had. A heat pump is a major investment and Addarios has unfortunately shown they cannot be trusted to install, support, or stand behind their work. Save yourself the headache and choose another company. read more

Do NOT use this company!! We called on a Sunday and paid for an emergency service. The person who came did not have the part he said was necessary. He said it would cost $1,000.00 and he would be back on Monday. He very efficiently took my credit card again for 1/2 of the cost of the part. On Monday no part, no service. We had another plumber come that day with the part which was not need, he just bled the lines. I canceled on Monday and was told accounting would call to confirm refuind. On Thursday I got a message that the part is in and they are ready to install. I have spent two days in a maze of AI voice with this company. This was a TERRIBLE experience!! read more

At first there was some miscommunication about the start date but we worked it out. Ed and Reggie were on the job at 8a.m. non stop (only for lunch) until 4:00 p m. They were polite and courteous. I would recommend them. I had 5 plumbers come to look at the job and said they would call with an estimate some called back and some didn't! BEWARE - EXCESSIVE PRICE GOUGING, UNETHICAL PRACTICES!!! Go elsewhere! I am updating my review in good conscience, changing to 1 star. While the unit appears to be well installed, I'm concerned about the way this company presents pricing and do think I was taken. Here's why - the first 'estimate' I was given yesterday morning was for 13k to replace my existing Rinnai unit with a new one, (equivalent to the old), update 1 gas pipe and install a pre-filter to prevent corrosion in the unit. The unit itself only costs $2700! When I indicated the price 'seemed high' and I mentioned needing to call my husband (who is a teacher stuck in class) and research a bit more (I also mentioned prior research had me thinking closer to 5k), the rep said 'let me work with my boss'. Shortly after, the price was 10k for the same work. At that point, I knew inside I should have gotten more quotes. Both Reps indicated the pricing was good and in line...since 'prices are so much higher during covid'. They were pushy. I should have known better. Mistakenly, I told the guys to do the job. Bottom line - even if the end price was fair (10k was not fair. It is still excessive!!!) and these guys did do a good job, why in the world were they trying to get an addition 3K! out of me? And only changed course when I debated the price a bit? This business seems to practice unethically, looking to take whatever they can from vulnerable consumers in need of service. My take is an elderly person may have paid the 13k and been 'had' even more than me!! Be cautious, get multiple quotes! I suspect this place is just like dealing with a car dealership. Wish I gave my money to a hard working, local plumber who didn't pull this kind of stuff. read more
