We hired Adaptation Floral Design for my wedding after our initial conversation with Kali; we actually had a few more appointments with other florists, but after being stood up by one, decided to give up looking because we were SO happy with our first experience. We had a fantastic experience working with Liz on the flowers for my wedding. She was bubbly and kept it real. I showed her about 10 pictures on pinterest and she was able to very accurately extrapolate my tastes from that (I didn't know the name of hardly any flowers when we started planning so all I could do was show her pictures.) I was never worried that the flowers wouldn't be perfect, and on the day-of they were! Everything was absolutely beautiful and exactly as I had imagined. She even let us incorporate some manzanita branches my mom bought into the wedding arch and our own wine corks into the centerpieces. Kali (the sweetest person alive) sat down with us for nearly two hours and planned out our entire wedding. She completely got the vision in my head and had some incredible ideas. Her knowledge of flowers, and what would be available in the month of our wedding, and what would work well was amazing. In the months leading up to the big day, we were in contact with her frequently as different elements changed here and there and we had to make some floral changes and she was incredibly patient and willing to work with us. I trusted her completely, and told her that this was her art, so once we had colors and a theme, she just went for it, and what we got were the most gorgeous arrangements I have ever seen. Adaptation did a great job with flowers for my wedding. It was a very small order in comparison to most weddings. But they still delivered timely, fresh, elegant arrangements. The florist had great suggestions for me, very creative ideas, and laid out a number of great options for me to meet all of my many needs. She worked with me on styling, types of flowers and their lifespan, costs, and even worked around my bad pollen allergies. My only complaint was that initially it took a long time to get a quote - it was nearly two weeks from the day we met to the time I got the quote email. However, from that point on, it was smooth sailing with quick replies and very good proactive communication overall. read more

Anyhow, I relayed the excitement to the shop owner who whipped up a beautiful arrangement for the occasion with what she had on the spot. I didn't know what was appropriate, so I just let her build it with some of my wife's general tastes in mind. I don't remember all the names of what was finally in it, but my wife said it was the most gorgeous flowers I'd ever brought her. She was able to accommodate us fairly quickly for a consultation appointment about our wedding. However, it's been four weeks and we still don't have a quote from her. Needless to say we've gone with another florist as they often book quickly. I'd also be concerned that she'd be too busy to give a client her full attention even once you were a client. read more

Adaptation is outstanding. Easily the choice in central Atlanta. Even when florists do a good job, the work can be mostly generic and uninspired. While being sufficiently pricey! This is never true at Adaptation. Their work is singular, beautiful, and consistently so. If it's important enough that you're sending flowers, then it's important enough to ensure something special --- and that means calling Adaptation. Their service is also above the usual. Friendly and responsive, certainly, but also especially reliable. I recently called in an order from the West Coast; caught them late in the day in Atlanta; and nonetheless they got the arrangement out the same day. When my recipient wasn't at home, they contacted me, but more than that, without my asking, they stayed on it for the next several days and ended up delivering a fresh arrangement the following Tuesday! This was a sympathy arrangement for a longtime friend, so the brilliant work from start to finish meant a great deal. It's been years since I bothered calling any other Atlanta florist. I learned about Adaptation from a website called thegreenhalf and I bought the coupon. My mother had a car wreck and it was also Valentine's weekend, so I thought flowers would cheer her up. This was not the typical bouquet. The flowers were so beautiful that I am considering trying to find someone to date just so that I can get married and have Adaptation do all the flowers! Joking aside, this was one of the most beautiful flower arrangements I've ever seen. My mother loved it and has been raving about it. Just to give you an idea: there were 5 light green roses (which I have never seen before, but they're so beautiful), orange freesia, purple hyacinth, fushia colored gerber daisies, and then sprigs of flowers of which I don't even know the names! It was so unique and I'm definitely going to make up an excuse to buy myself some flowers--and then I won't even have to date or get married! read more

Couldn't have been happier with the flowers that Liz put together for both my wedding and rehearsal dinner. I know pretty much nothing about flowers and could only partly put into words what I wanted for my wedding day. Liz did a great job of listening and helping me with ideas, all the while keeping my budget in mind. I even had a few changes toward the end that were probably annoying for her to deal with, but she remained cool about everything and just rolled with it. Very thankful for that. Liz does an amazing job. She really gets to know the customer, their event and selects the best quality flowers for your occasion. People have to remember that most of these stores are loft style apartments and this is a residential area. Most people close up "early" because they may live in the area and not have anymore customers coming by. It is privately owned, so this shop can really close up whenever they want. The person who owns the store next door isn't open on Monday or Tuesday. It's their prerogative to open and close as they see fit. Also keep in mind that parking is very limited. There was probably a good reason why your car was towed. The whole Inman Park area is a cluster when it comes to parking. That's why most parking lots in the area are pay for parking. Just remember, it's a RESIDENTIAL area. Parking is limited everywhere! Adaptation does have a Facebook page with tons of pictures! They aren't going to lay their prices out anywhere because everything is custom made. I've been working with Liz for a very long time and she is by far the most knowledgeable and professional person I have ever worked with. She "gets" it. She's not your typical old school florist either, she's very modern but sophisticated. Try it again. You may have just stumbled in on a bad day. read more
