I started going to Adapt Health Clinic about 6 or 7 years ago for several issues I was having postpartum. Dr. Mike's approach to overall healing and wellness is what sets them apart! The whole team focuses on alignment but also building strength to avoid future injuries and issues. Dr Mike Grossman has been wonderful for adjustments on a monthly basis as well as treating injuries as needed. I've been going to see Dr. John Bellicitti at Adapt since March. I have numerous issues with my back, knees, and neck. I have tried PT and numerous MDs, with limited success. Dr. John has helped me far more than any of the rest. He listens, and he discusses my issues with me. He has helped me diminish my pain so that I can do more. I had tripped on a step and fell and broke my hand bone. I had to have surgery to fix the bone and my orthopedist at Kaiser did not think I need therapy but eventually he precribed 6 sessions of hand therapy . This hand therapy had minimal outcome. My blood pressure started going up. My hand and wrist got worse, so i consulted with Dr. Mike at Adapt clinic. He treated my hand, wrist and arm with manual therapy ,laser and shock therapy and encouraged me to work with the trainer Elianna. She has made world of difference with personalized training for not only for my hand and upper body but balance issues. She was able to find areas of muscles weak that contributed my falls that caused fracture and falls I had previous times. I just did not know why I kept falling. I am now stronger, not fallen. Another best thing is my PCP doctor said i no longer need to take high blood pressure pill as I am in better physical shape. I've been under chiropractic care for about 25 years now (with about 7 different chiropractors). And I must say Dr. Grossman is the BEST! Due to a minor scholiosis condition, and the constant working/typing at a desk, I need regular adjustments to keep my spine mobile. Otherwise tightness and pain will start to creep up. I've been under Dr. Grossman's care for over five years now, and have been pain free. (The longest duration yet!) While his adjustments seem gentle, the results have been exceptional. He was able to meet my needs of being an active sports practitioner, and exceeded my expectations with his education, candor, and professionalism. I HIGHLY recommend seeing Dr. Grossman! He's not your average chiropractor. He doesn't just treat the symptoms, but works with you to prevent the injury/pain from continuing. Seeing Dr. Grossman is like going to a chiropractor and physical therapist all in one visit! His calming nature allows for the physical adjustments to feel safe and comfortable, instead of freaky, as I often used to feel when I heard the snaps of neck adjustments. He gives you exercises that you can take home to help strengthen the body and bring back spinal alignment, as well as offers laser therapy to help pain management. I started seeing Dr. Grossman two months ago for nerve pain that ran from the back of my neck down through my fingertips. It was excruciating and had been going on for months. I really appreciated that he took the time to understand the issue, helped to figure out what was causing it, and worked with me to not just relieve the pain at that appointment, but taught me how I can prevent it from coming back. The pain flare ups have gotten farther and farther apart and I very rarely experience it anymore. When I do feel pain start to come on, I practice the exercises that Dr. Grossman recommended and it helps settle the pain and prevent it from worsening. Healing is a two way street. A doctor can help you all you want, but if you're not an active participant in the journey, you might not get that far. I started seeing Dr. Grossman in early July for some severe hip pain I had been having since late 2018. I have been to other chiropractors for my hip issue but I always felt like they were rushing me with 30 minute appointments and I felt little to no relief. In my first appointment with Dr. Grossman, he was very patient as I described my symptoms and never once made me feel like he was rushing me out of the door. He took the time to not only adjust me but also demonstrate the exercises I would need to do at home as part of my treatment. I left my first appointment feeling confident that Dr. Grossman would be able to help me - and he sure has! Just under two months later I'm essentially pain free for the first time in nearly a year and this is 100% thanks to Dr. Grossman. So, I've never been to a chiropractor of any sort in my life, but my mother used to because she had a multitude of back issues along with sciatica. I remember as a small child going to various offices and watching her get adjusted and just being so confused by the process. Fast forward 20 years and here I am in Mike's office hearing about the healing ways a chiropractor can help with your muscles and joints! It was very interesting. As for the service? It was a bit of work for me as someone who sits/stands most of the day and doesn't have a lot of time to work out(he has you do stretches and movements to feel what level your muscles are at in terms of tightness and mobility), but by the end of the hour, I felt great! Mike also has a great moveable table that super helped my lower spine( it was sore when I had come in and now I feel excellent), he had a massager for my upper back and neck(which was actual heaven), AND! If you check in to his facility upon your first meeting- he gives you a code for a free laser light treatment for your muscles!! It's actually really rad because that day, I had come in with a serious migraine(I get them pretty frequently and this one made it so I had a harder time collecting my thoughts), and the light amount of soft heat from the laser felt excellent on my neck and shoulders. I'll be honest- did it eradicate my headache? No. But you shouldn't go into therapeutic treatments with the mindset that it'll "fix everything, right away". I'm an esthetician & it's the same in my line of work; one chemical peel won't eradicate your acne entirely- but over time & repeated use, it can definitely help. His light therapy machine has been a great help to recover from a shoulder injury along with his rock taping skills. I tend to be a skeptic when it comes to chiropractors. I know there are good ones out there, you just have to find them! I was pleasantly surprised when I met Dr Grossman for a sports injury that was causing me problems in my lower back and legs. He didn't try to to convince me that I needed some long drawn-out plan. Instead, he started out trying to understand what my goal was in coming to him. After listening to me, and doing his evaluation, he gave me his opinion, and explained his approach to treatment, along with some possible options. He used a lot of traditional techniques that I am used to, plus some new ones that I've never heard of. He didn't just say I should try this or that. He explained what the treatment was, and how it might affect my symptoms. Even though I've been to a variety of chiropractors and PTs, he was still able to recommended some stretches that the others had not. What really surprised me was his holistic approach. In addition to discussing my specific complaint, he asked about certain practical aspects of my daily routine. We discussed how making small tweaks at work and at home might reduce my symptom flare ups. When I mentioned taking certain vitamins for muscle cramps, he seemed to be up to date on that topic as well, describing why certain ones I might get at the big box stores were not doing me much good. I really liked that he took his time to discuss my problem and then tried to help me in both the short term pain and my long term issue. The fact that he seemed knowledgable about topics that were related but, outside of his area of specialty, made me feel like he really wanted to help me by understanding the big picture of my back pain. While there's nothing that can be done to my original injury (severely ruptured disc) he was able to help me with my symptoms, so that I would be more comfortable training for a future race. read more
