    Chefs choice omelet
    Genie M.

A friend had gone and wanted me to see if I would enjoy the food as much as they did. I did enjoy! The hostess was welcoming and our waitress, Dazzia, was on point. We all had omelets and they were all filled with fresh ingredients! The toast was a wholegrain delicious bread. I should have asked where to buy. The apricot preserves i believe were made in house. They don't serve pork bacon but I believe they had turkey sausage and they were seasoned well. They also offer shrimp as a side and you can buy by the piece. They were delicious and went perfect with my omelet! The coffee was delicious and they came around several times to add to our cups. The chai tea had by a friend was a good brand and provided a lovely aroma to our table! If your in Colorado Springs stop in! Th

What a cute place! The interior was absolutely FILLED with gorgeous impressionistic styled paintings, which was maybe my favorite part! I felt like I was in a local art museum and only wish I'd had a chance to learn more about collection. I ordered Rockey's Special (toast, poached eggs, seasonal fruit). It came looking like the most aesthetic breakfast plate I've seen in my life. I felt like I was at a fancy tea shop! I loved the artful arrangement of the fruit. The main disappointment was I had asked for butter on the side, and the toast came both buttered and with butter on the side. Both my partner and I wonder if they have some kind of vegan butter substitute because it did not taste or smell like butter, and this place seems health conscious. Our waiter was kind enough to bring me dry toast when I pointed it out. Where this place really shined though was the lasagna meal. It was so fresh and flavorful with heart chunks of tomato and the right amount of cheese (more like true Italian versus Americanized versions that just drip with melted cheese). The roll with that meal was incredible. Next time, I'm ordering that. My partner devoured it before I could steal more than a bite from him. Would recommend ! Just note they seemed understaffed so service was a little slow, but it's worth the wait!

The ambiance was the best!!! They had wonderful Impressionist-style paintings along the walls. Great for a date or a one on one. The food was stellar as well. I had the lasagna which I would highly recommend. Unfortunately, they accidentally put butter on my girlfriend's toast : ( which could have been dangerous if she was allergic. They low key gaslighted her that it wasn't butter but bruh, the toast literally had butter grease on it!!! They later corrected it. But unfortunately, the review is only going to be 4 stars.

Cute location on the outskirts of Manitou Springs. Friendly service and we appreciated the vegan options. The vegan huevos rancheros were great - maybe better than the normal ones. Kids eggs and toast was perfect for our son.

Been coming to Adam's Cafe since I was a kid and it never disappoints. I love the atmosphere with the plants, pottery, and beautiful artwork. It feels cozy and relaxing. This time around I tried the vegan French Toast which was amazing I would recommend it, but it is quite rich maybe splitting a savory dish with the French toast would be perfect. Overall loved Adam's Mountain Cafe. (Especially if you are looking for vegan/dietary restriction options)

Adam's mountain cafe is definitely a must stop if you are in the Colorado Springs/manitou area! We have family in the area and stop at Adam's at least once each time we come through! They have a big menu and lots of awesome vegan options! Literally the best Vegan French Toast I've ever had! Also, don't skip the juice! Their in made in house juices are so yummy! Our waitress, Memphis, was phenomenal!

    Senegalese bowl with sesame tofu

Had a lovely meal here. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. Tried 2 dishes and shared with a friend. Staff were pretty friendly. My only star deduction is that it was $25 for the senegalese bowl with sesame tofu. Super delicious and full of flavor but a bit spendy for no meat or cheese. My husband had the whole wheat pancakes which were apparently really good!

LOVE this place. So homey and welcoming. I've always had a great experience coming here. Food is always great and consistent! This place also has great options for vegans or vegetarians, which is so helpful when you're trying to accommodate different diets. Side note: I really appreciate the parking lot and how you don't have to stress about where to park especially when in Manitou!

    Orange Almond French Toast

I have to write this review because I do not want you to miss the Orange Almond French Toast. It is absolutely magically delicious! Somewhere between a breakfast and a dessert, this dish will delight every one of your 5 senses! Smells great, tastes delightful, looks pretty, nice feel in your mouth, and you will hear your dining partner gasp and exclaim that this is the best French toast on the planet. Service is average, not super friendly but they were busy.

Linger was one of the…read morefirst restaurants I ever went to when I moved to Denver, and El Five has always been one of my favorites too, so I finally made it to Root Down and honestly... another win. The space feels very Root Down in the best way. Funky, artsy, a little mid century, but still comfortable and not trying too hard. Then the food starts showing up and suddenly the whole table is passing plates around because everyone keeps saying "wait, try this." We ordered a bunch of things and the smoked carrots were probably the biggest surprise for me. I would absolutely go back just to eat those again. The masa birria, diver scallops, and grilled artichokes and asparagus were all great too. The hanger steak was cooked perfectly and came with duck fat potatoes, which immediately puts me in a good mood. Dessert also fully delivered. The banana cream pie with black sesame whip was one of those desserts where you keep going back for another bite even when you're already full. It just felt like a really thoughtful meal from start to finish. Definitely one of my favorite dinners I've had in a while.

Really lovely all vegan place that I visited twice while I was in Denver…read more Between my two visits, I got the gnocchi with sweet potato sauce, the Cuban sandwich, ginger beer, and the giant chocolate chip cookie. All of it was really great, but I think the gnocchi was my favorite of the two entrees. The ginger beer is not super gingery, tastes like Fevertree. The chocolate chip cookie with sea salt is an absolute must! It comes wrapped so I took mine back to the hotel to share with my non-veg husband after he got back from his work conference dinners and he said they were the best chocolate chip cookies he'd ever had! Also, I think it's fun that the plates are made to look like wood, but aren't. The first time I came it had been pouring rain, so the restaurant wasn't as full and it was very easy to find an open table, but the second time it was positively packed, and both times were week nights, so I suspect this place is pretty popular with the locals. I like that the ordering is done through QR code and website, since that would make it easy for groups and means you don't have to all know what you want at the same time (or, if dining solo as I was, you don't need to interact as much with staff, which is sometimes a blessing). Several members of the staff wore face masks, which I appreciated, and there were some nice paintings on the walls from local artists for sale. If I am ever in Denver again, I think I would really like to come back here--and I'd definitely get the chocolate chip cookie every time!

You seat yourself and have a choice to order with the QR code or go up to the counter. It being my first time I went up to the counter to get some additional recommendations. I went with the side buffalo cauliflower & the chicken Caesar salad. Both were fresh, had lots of flavor and filling-- highly recommend. When closing out my tab at the counter, I picked up a chocolate chip cookie togo (extra large in size and just the right about of sweetness). With the menu so unique I prefer a little more "hands on service" but the experience was tasty and eager to come back and try other things. Clean, homemade, high quality vegan food with lots of GF options/ substitution-- Highly recommend.

Finding the restaurant was easy, with a nice sign above the small storefront facing Bijou between Tejon and Cascade. The inside is open and tidy and very welcoming. It looks like it used to be a bar, which has been repurposed as both a café and an after dusk cocktail bar. We were greeted by one of 2 staff from the back, near the register, where you place orders. The young lady was friendly and helpful, making suggestions after asking what we wanted to try. My husband ordered the veggie salad with tofu and mozzarella cheese, while I, at the young lady's suggestion, tried the brown rice and quinoa Greek bowl. We also had iced tea, which was fresh brewed, and delicious! We were given our teas which we carried to a table near the front window. There were several tables for groups as well as a couple of higher tables and seats along the bar top. Our food was brought to us and looked gorgeous! It tasted just as good. My husband's salad was chopped full of fresh and pickled veggies which he loved. The mozzarella balls were also tasty and he ate them first. My green bowl was also sounded like, with lots of greens, cucumbers, chickpeas, olives, tomatoes, and hummus. I opted to have the grains heated, and then the rest of the ingredients placed on top. It was so delicious! We look forward to returning and trying other wonderful items listed on the menu like their wraps and soups. We're so happy to have found a healthy, incredibly good restaurant downtown.
