My son and I were visiting Manitou Springs on a very hot 93°F day while exploring the area's for their natural springs. We were looking for a place with air conditioning and cold drinks, and after checking Google reviews, this restaurant stood out because of its convenient location and positive ratings. Since it was a busy "Summer Springs Sunday," there was a wait for tables. However, as a party of two, we were able to find seats at the bar right away. I enjoyed a Snow Capped Cider, while my son ordered a Lemonade Sour. Both drinks were refreshing after spending time outdoors. For food, I ordered the Hatch Brat with fries. The brat was flavorful, but it had more cheese than I would have preferred, and the fries seemed undercooked. My son chose the Nashville Hot Honey Chicken sandwich. He described it as average, and unfortunately, his fries were also undercooked. Our server and bartender, Josephine P., was friendly and efficient throughout our visit. The restaurant offers both indoor and patio seating. Guests should note that several Patio rules are posted near the entrance, and a no-public-restroom policy. The menu is fairly vast , with a solid selection of local beers available. There is also a 2% fee for credit card transactions. The location is convenient, situated right near the Manitou Bathhouse. While our meal was somewhat mixed, the service, atmosphere, and beverage selection were positives. If I return, I would be interested in trying a different menu item. Overall, this was a pleasant stop during a hot summer day in Manitou Springs. After hearing the best burgers were here, I was so looking forward to having one and it did not disappoint! Being from Miami and loving to try new things, I chose elk meat in a mushroom Swiss. This is right in the middle of Manitou city. It is in an old health spa building. The ambiance is real retro. There were 6 of us so we tried a lot of different things. We had 2 appetizer the fried Twinkie and Texas balls. Both were ok the fries Twinkie was very spicy but good. The balks were a bit weird for my taste. The menu has a large variety of starters, burgers, sandwiches, salads and sides and everything looked so good as I checked out what others diners had ordered. They also had a full drink menu with both alcoholic and NA beverages. We ordered 2 burgers for 3 of us and also shared the large bowl of tasty coleslaw slaw. The only complaint we had was that the tomato slices on both burgers were really yellow in the middle. We all discarded them. But the hand cut fries were delicious and the burgers were very good. Our waitress was the most memorable part of our meal! She was so kind and even put in our daughter's meal first so she could get started before us. Her meal (Mac and cheese) was literally out in 2 minutes. As for the food itself, we were not big fans. They were yummy. They also have fresh cut fries -- my favorite! I upgraded mine to truffle fries. Sadly, they were a bit too oily for my liking. I'd recommend going with the naked fries. Tip: A bagpiper was playing across the water. It was cool for the first few minutes, but after 30 it wasn't. I actually love bagpipes - I grew up listening to my dad playing them. Their kids activity book was a huge win for my kiddo because she had lots to do in it. The music was fun and the wait staff was all very friendly and helpful. Our food came out fairly quickly which was great too since they were packed! The only thing that kind of was a bummer is there's only 2 one stall bathrooms so be aware that if you have to go there may be a bit of a line on a busy day. Something was very sour in them I'm not sure if it was intentional or something was literally going bad. 1 out of 10 on the onion rings. The fries were greasy but clearly homemade. 5 out of 10.
