We needed help selecting plants for the slope in our backyard and updating the pet area. Our goal was to install artificial turf in our pet area and have the hill covered with enough plants so that it looked established without having to wait years for the plants to fill in. We enjoyed working with Adam's Landscaping. Nathan responded very promptly via text and email, providing us with our estimate, answering questions, and scheduling installation. Nathan said the installation would take 2-3 days, and the crew was very efficient, staying within the stated timeline. We liked the look and size of the Foxtail Ferns and Variegated Dianellas at the base of the slope. The only reason for giving a lower score was because we were disappointed with the size of Low Boy Acacia plants on the slope. It is hard to see the acacias even though they are supposed to be 5-gallon plants. When we expressed our concern to Nathan about the size of plants, he was very responsive, bringing in more acacias and planting more Variegated Dianellas along the top. The additions were an improvement, and we appreciated the effort to make sure we were satisfied with the installation. In retrospect, we should have been specific that plants selected should be large, mature plants and, if not available, be given the option to replace the plant with a different variety before planting occurs. While the slope does not look full of mature plants, it is a vast improvement, and we are happy with the overall look of it. We are also really pleased with the turf in the pet area and Mark's suggestion to plant lavender next to the fence. read more

After reaching out to multiple companies, we decided to go with Adams Landscaping because their portfolio on yelp looked great. Nathan came out for our initial estimate and was really great to work with the entire time. I really wish I didn't have to leave this review, but we keep running into more issues with the quality of the work. The good: Our yard looks a lot better than before they did work. It was just a giant dirt area, over grown with weeds. With the sod installed, it's actually an area we can enjoy as a family. They replanted our birds of paradise and aloe succulents to create a more balanced design in the back yard. The Bad: The crew working didn't pay attention to the details. We felt that we were missing a certain level of quality that we expected from a company with such a large portfolio. The sod installation was okay, however, the installation on the side of the house seems like it was rushed. There are large gaps between sections and there were large patches that were already dying. There was a section that the sprinklers could not reach, due to the heads not being aligned. We fertilized the grass, and the sod has grown in, but there are still large gaps in between. We needed the sprinkler system adjusted and repaired to install sod in the back yard. It was determined on the first day of work that we needed to adjust the quote to repair the sprinkler lines - there was more damage than we had initially thought. We happily obliged as we paid professionals to come out for a reason. We just wanted the work to be done correctly. They installed more sprinkler heads on the side of the house, but didn't take the time to align the heads with the existing heads or with each other. As a result, part of the yard does not get water, and the sod is drying out. We have to manually water that area to keep the sod from dying out, which defeats the purpose of having the sprinklers. On the last day of work, we were told the valves have a bad leak and it would cost more money to replace those. We were under the impression that the repairs we paid for included the whole system, but maybe we should have been more clear. We also asked them to cap off all the sprinklers in the front as it's mostly rock landscape and some succulents. They capped off most, but not all, of them, and connected the open heads to the drip irrigation system. This made the drip irrigation effectively useless, because we were flooding our front landscape while having it on. I was able to fix the valves and cap off the sprinklers in the front on my own and the caps are pretty cheap, but we paid for the work to be done, which wasn't done. What really sucks is that there is still a leak in the system, and after paying for professionals, I'm probably going to have to dig it back out on my own or call another company to ensure that it gets done. The workers also left broken pvc parts in the yard and the front lawn is a mess. We had rock landscape in the front and the workers just dug up the ground with the rocks mixed in. The landscape was not perfect by any means, but we thought they would have tried their best to keep the area how they found it. They also trimmed down our oleander tree, and it looks a bit botched. We brought up the issues in regards to the sod drying out to Nathan and he offered to have his team come back out to fix the issue. He also offered to have his team help us program the sprinkler controller. One of the guys did come out and adjusted the sprinkler head to ensure that area of sod gets water, and then left. We programmed the system on our own, no big deal. Just seemed to be some miscommunication between the workers and Nathan. We just didn't understand why they didn't adjust the sprinkler head when they noticed that one spot of the sod wasn't get any water. read more

Our 1st time to have a massive landscaping job & we chose Adams landscaping. It turned out very costly in the end! What a waste of $ & great disappointment!!! After a few months, lots of tall weeds are coming out from the slope (hilly), we found out later that there's no fabric lining in place. If we have known, we could have said something! But Adams L should know better!!! Succulents are also dying bec. the irrigation system installed has very little or no holes at all!!! We reached out to them but no action was done! So, we decided to have it RE-DONE THE RIGHT WAY! WHAT A WASTE OF $ & GREAT DISMAY!!! IT WAS A RIPPED OFF, LOUSY JOB! ADAMS LANDSCAPING SHOULD DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME!!! read more

I have no idea about plants or landscaping at all. We were selling our home and needed the sod replaced. Adam's landscaping was able to give us a fast quote and start the job immediately! They gave us a great deal and got the job done quickly! My husband and I are pretty tough customers with high expectations and Adam's landscaping delivered for us! read more

Adam was pleasant and amiable in our first meeting. His recommendations were not too creative and fairly basic but looked better than what I had. Unfortunately, he did not follow through with any of his recommendations. After some delays, on both sides, he eventually, in email, said he could not do the job at all...they got too busy. After I emailed him back, he said he talked to his dad and they could do the work in September (this was early June). So basically, he sees the property, makes a bid, we have a couple calls to refine (and actually expand the bid) and then he backs out. Communication was poor. Although they were quick to respond and come out to our home to do the estimate they did not actually provide the estimate until 6 days later after I asked about where the estimate was. Nathan had come to our home and we have a very small "backyard" (approx 270 sq. ft.) and all we wanted was to just concrete the entire thing. After he took his measurements he said he would go back to his office and email me the estimate either "tomorrow or Monday". By Monday night we still had not received any estimate so I sent a message through yelp messenger and got a response on Tuesday saying he would get one to me soon. We didn't receive one until Wednesday. It was higher than some of the other estimates we received so we didn't move forward. I understand they do big contracts and are capable of much more than what we were asking, but having to wait and request an estimate for such a small space and then being quoted over $3,000 seemed a little much. If you can afford them and have time to kill then by all means, I'm sure they do good work, but if you are in a hurry and have a tight budget, I'd avoid them. read more

this company sprayed Round-Up on my ice plant and on two bushes. They replaced bushes. Not ice plant. They then switched service day with less than 24 hrs notice or, if I wanted to keep same day I would have to pay an undefined additional amount of money. This after three months of service. Spoke to Mark Adams, the owner, and he said that the marketing manager was fired because she bid on our job. This was after they left their card at our business. I cannot believe it!!! read more

Stay away from Adams Landscaping! They charge an arm an leg and provide little plants and they only guarantee the plants for 30 days. I could have bought a ton of plants for $2700. read more

We hired Adan to reimagine our garden after a terrible experience with Emerald Bay Succulents. He has done a fantastic job. He designed and installed the small front garden, walk-way area to the front door and side yard garden. The entire garden is drought tolerant, but has color and interesting features. He used river rock and beach glass to create the suggestion of a flowing riverbed and a very 'Zen' like feeling. The entire neighborhood loves it. Adan has been professional and trustworthy in his dealings with us and he has wonderful creative vision. His pricing is fair and we have also hired him to maintain 'his' garden on a weekly basis. The landscapers here are the most caring and helpful people I have encountered. On their way to clean up someone's yard, a runner on my cross country team (Murrieta Mesa) was attacked by a german shepherd and had deep bite marks in her leg. Instead of just passing by pretending they didn't see an injured girl, the men hopped out of their truck with a first aid kit. They helped clean up the bleeding and cover the cut, gave us their phone to contact her parents, and stayed to wait for a proper adult to come deal with the man whose dog attacked my teammate. I am aware that this review has nothing to do with the company's landscaping ability, but I wanted to recognize the three men who went out of their way to help a stranger. I am very grateful these workers showed up and kept the dogs away because this situation could have gone so much worse. These men truly demonstrated honor and integrity, two traits people mention, but are rarely seen. read more
