I saw the other reviews and was a little wary, but I got through to customer service right away (this was around 9:30 on a weekday) and she dispatched a car promptly, and dispatcher was very polite and efficient. I got a text with a tracker so that I could see when my car arrived. When the car arrived, I was impressed with the safety measures. The backseat was clean. There was a plexiglass barrier between the driver and the back, but my driver still wore a mask. My driver, Rick, was very pleasant. I usually make small talk with drivers but tend to feel awkward in doing so, but our conversation was actually very enjoyable. He drove safely and took the normal route. The fare wasn't much more than it would've been with other rideshare services. My expectations were exceeded, and I was especially grateful because this Suburban Taxi came through in a pinch when other services were unavailable, and they made me feel very safe in a time when taking a taxi can be nerve-wracking. I can't speak for others' experience, but mine was positive.

They are horrible to there drivers. Regularly screw up there pay, so people that already are living…read moreon the edge are shorted for a week because the company won't fix it immediately. Even if you work a holiday but not put in 40 hours for whatever reason you don't get the holiday. If you are send on 2 or more long jobs they can't pay you for both of the jobs in the same week. Now a big company like this should be able to absorb a couple hundred dollars for a week. They claim insurance will not pay for two long runs back to back. Don't send these drivers on the long runs if they can't completely be paid for the work done. The dispatchers are twats to the driver and expect them to basically live in there vehicle. Piss poor company with piss poor management. If I could post negative stars I would.

I called about 20 transportation companies that were closed before I came across U-Connect. Not only did they wait 40 minutes because Crouse didn't have Dad ready, they borrowed a wheelchair from Crouse, got Dad back to Assisted Living, and called me to let me know he was all set and in his room. Dad would have had to sleep on a gurney in the hall of a hospital if not for U-Connect. The owner and driver were so friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend them and will be using them again. Thank you!

Most of the time, the driver was even early. But, then there were a few bad times. Three to be exact. On three different occasions, they didn't show up at all, and I missed my doctor appointments. On two of the occasions, I was able to call once I realized they weren't coming and reschedule with my doctor, but when I called North Country Transportation to inquire about the ride, no one answered any of the times. I left voice mails on these days, including today, when they didn't show, and no one responded. I sent a text to the number, and on the days they didn't show up, no one responded. I waited and kept trying to contact them until there were only fifteen minutes to get to my appointment and then had to reschedule with my doctor and they still didn't show at all. They didn't even call me to say they weren't coming, and I have to believe after this happening a few times that they knew they weren't going to come. Because on most occasions when I had a ride set up with them, if I sent a text, someone replied pretty quickly. Or, if I left a voice mail, someone would text me back. But on all of the occasions where they didn't show, no one responded at all to either. The ride was set up to be one hour before the appointment. That's plenty of time, and it's pretty poor practice for a business to just not show up, and not respond to communications. It's not even like I was impolite or angry or anything when I left a message about it. I was polite and just inquiring whether someone was coming. No response. If you miss three doctor appointments in a year, a lot of doctors will stop seeing you, so I can't afford to take a chance on these guys anymore. I'm sure they don't care, but if they keep doing this to people, they probably won't be around for long.
