I find it incredibly ironic that I sit here in a corset*, writing a review of an adult store. Odder still that my visit to Adam & Eve was sandwiched between back-to-back visits to two other adult stores. 'Twas a mad dash for bachelorette party props that found me spending my evening in such an unusual way. But I can safely say seeing these stores all in one night really opened my eyes as to how they compare, and if I were to rank from worst to best, in terms of variety, it would fall: Adam & Eve (just the basics; and more tame), Cherry Pie (greater selection), Frisky Business (large range of lingerie/costumes and niche items not found elsewhere). Sadly, as far as bachelorette stuff, they all kind of had the same. *Having just returned from a Rocky Horror Show live performance (and being the only audience member in costume, I might add. Good thing I opted not to accessorize with fishnets). read more

Adam & Eve - Durham - Adult Shops Near Me - Durham, North Carolina

Couldn't have been more disappointed at the lack of trans inclusive merchandise along with our sales associate lack of general trans knowledge. Even after spelling out we were looking for transmasculine boxer briefs I was directed to bikini underwear made and marketed for woman. ‍ read more

Aaron was FANTASTIC, they were very helpful, polite, and not too clinical. I felt very welcome and comfortable in the store and will certainly take the longer drive over a location closer to me. Candida was also very friendly, I was impressed by Aaron's customer service and knowledge about products in the store. they answered my questions and helped me select products without asking invasive questions. Good selection of products, I would love to see more LGBTQ+ focused products. read more

This is why online shopping wins over brick and mortar. Nothing in the store was worth purchasing after being told I needed to leave my purse in the car...in front of other customers....like just advertising its in my vehicle if I had returned. Get lockers...get better loss management. read more

Spencer's has always had a great variety of adult toys and marital aids. And, the sales people really know their products. They can also help you find something, even if they don't have it. read more

Terrible service extremely age discrimination I have no problem Showing my ID but when I come in with my husband and I'm 30 & I look young yes but I have tattoos all over myself and my husband looks older than me and then they want his ID as well to make sure he's also over 18 when my husband has grey hair and is also covered in tattoos I only feel the workers wants his ID to see our age difference because if I'm the "younger" one in question and I show my ID that should be good enough why are you also trying to see my husbands who definitely looks older than me and is in his 40s !? Very judgmental and unprofessional ! I told my husband not to even show his and we left I will do business else where! Where I'm not judge only accepted at other places. Like I said I had no problem with my ID but asking for someone else's ID who clearly looks over 18 is age discrimination because you're workers only wanted to try to judge us from the start. I work at a bar and have to ID to serve as well and it's clear as day when someone is or isn't over age! read more

Horrible service, couldn't be let in and im 22 years old... since when is it do I show a ID and can't be let in? Ridiculous honestly.

0 stars. They want a physical ID. I'm over 40. Age discrimination And the two girls that worked there don't look old enough to work there.

Lady at the register was very friendly and welcoming. I wasn't looking for anything specific but I did come across some things I had questions about and she didn't hesitate to answer read more

tdlr: fine products but worker was an asshole!!! couple friends and I decided to stop in because we're in the area and like to visit various sex shops. We're all very obviously young but definitely above 18, however, worker did not seem to believe our IDs when we showed them and was passive aggressive from the start. being the only ones in the store, they listened into all of our conversations and made judgmental faces and comments throughout our visit. Shit talked us to a MEMBER OF OUR OWN GROUP. Overall, the products were fine (if expensive) but the person working was rude and made us uncomfortable so we decided to leave. read more

prices are insane, worker followed my friend and I around the entire time we shopped, we were having a personal conversation about a toy and they interjected and answered as if we had asked them when we were obviously talking to each other. Not just once it happened multiple times. It's like we came into a sex store to talk to each other, not an employee. It's like they were pushing us to buy something & we never once asked for help. You can buy the same things on Amazon for 75% less, don't waste your time and $ read more

Just remember guys all sales are final, they do not allow returns or exchanges on anything sold in the store. I hope you got the right size for that outfit you bought. And I hope that sex you was damaged or missing any parts. Just a friendly heads up for anyone going to the store. read more

I've been to quite a few of these shops to compare and try new things and this is the first Adam and Eve I felt disappointed in. There's not really any of a selection here. It's mainly lube and lingerie. When we came in, the woman was on her phone watching videos which she continued to do the whole time we were there. Our last shop that we were regulars at in the last state we lived in had a huge variety with tons of new things every week both for men and women. This shop was just very small and very amateur. Hopefully we will find a good one in this area soon. read more

Great store, some of their products are good and some aren't the best but they definitely have great BDSM stuff!!

It took me nearly two years before I visited this store after it opened just across the street from my old house. Although I firmly believe that sex is for fun as much as it is for procreation, it took me ages to stop having flashbacks to Catholic school every time I thought, hey, maybe I'll visit a sex shop today! I'd been to the other location on CH Blvd. probably eight years ago, and I thought it was kind of shady. The people were nice, but the building is run down, which squicks me out just a tad. That's not an issue with this brand-new shop, though: everything is immaculate and pristine; I mean, this building didn't even exist a few years ago! So the lady who was working there when I visited is cool as a cucumber, lets you browse, doesn't make you feel like a creep or a shoplifter, and offers matter-of-fact advice that doesn't make you feel uncomfortable at all. Plus, I got a $25 off coupon just for making a purchase. Score! (Haha, get it: score!) They've got just about all the toys you can imagine, plus tantra chairs and whatall, and dirty videos, and crazy, silly costumes, especially around Halloween, but also the other holidays. Crotchless Santa panties, anyone? And batteries. This place has an entire section of all the batteries in the world that you can possibly imagine. I think I will return to the store again, should I need to make a future purchase. I made an order on their website many years back and got getting XXX junk mail in the post for YEARS after that. I'm talking the kind that makes the mail carrier blush just from looking at the envelope. read more

Two products I purchased, the Pleasure Panty and Massaging Rabbit have been charging for 3-4 days. They do not work. A&E indicated they do not take returns. I've called them now for 2 days at the number listed on this site and no one answers and you cannot leave a message. Very disappointed in customer service especially since they sell the same products on Amazon for 1/2 price with reviews. read more
