Every time I see a small local bakery I just have to go for a look and see if I can anything to eat that might save me cooking. Adair's bakery in Hillsborough is no exception to this habit.
Their selection of savoury things wasn't broad but I did get a nice mince and potato pie, which had excellent light pastry, a piece of pizza and some soda bread. The wheaten and pancakes looked good too but I saved those for another bakery visit.
Otherwise there were alot of traybakes, creamy cakes and iced buns. For my liking the shop was a bit cold and the lady behind the counter rather stern when she told me there were not small pizzas and she couldn't cut off a piece any smaller than a quarter, which was fair enough I suppose. read more
