Their filled sodas are absolutely delicious - I have tried numerous times to make them myself at home, but they never taste as good as they do in Jeffers. Celebration cakes can also be made to order here, including platters of goddies such as sausage rolls and vol-au-vents. Upstairs is the cafe/tea shop - there is always a delicious range of food available to view on the hot plate, my favourite is the filled baked potato with bacon and cheese, closely followed by the quiche with salad or the vegetarian pizza slice. They can also make up cold meals such as salads or sandwiches to order.

The cafe upstairs offers a nice range of homemade lunches or which I actually love their salads. Mainly as they justify the cake I proceed to have after it! Plus it's fresh and delicious too. Jefferson's has a real traditional homely charm that makes a refreshing change from subway or Starbucks.

I particularly enjoy the large vol-au-vents they do, and I often pop in to see if they have any in, but unfurtunately one of the problems with Hedley's is, they don't have a great range, so I imagine you have to be in quite early to get a decent selection. I also tried one of their pre-packaged sanwiches, which was ham and cheese on brown bread, and it was not far off being inedible, the bread was dry and the ham and cheese were of poor quality, but I was pretty hungry and it did the job.

We generally go on Fridays to get things for tea time as it's a nice change from the packaged supermarket alternatives. Can't beat their apple turnovers or iced fingers crammed full of cream! They've also opened a Deli counter which looks good but I haven't tried it.
