This is my go-to neighborhood dog park. Atlanta is great for dog owners since there are many patio restaurants and parks everywhere. With all the trees (that keep my dog from overheating--the fat sausage dog) this place has become my favorite dog park in Decatur. Being a huge, U-shaped park, there's a natural separation--so if your dogs aren't getting along one can just go on the other side. There isn't a separate small dog section, but I believe it's big enough to keep owners and pups happy. There's also water jugs and water bowls for your doggies. All owners keep an eye on their dogs and are friendly. The great part is that everyone does make sure to keep the water jug full. If you're feeling anti-social nobody will bother you either since everyone just sits and watches their dogs or are on their phones. There's also always a bunch of other dogs here (but not too much to be overcrowded) when I go after work from 6-8 PM. There are multiple entrances, but I think they could add one more for the opposite side of the U, near the water spout. This would make it easier to refill the water jugs. Just the tips: - Big, U-shaped park where dogs can be separated if they don't get along. - No separate small dog section - Lots of trees so you and your pup don't overheat!

Great spot! The driving directions are deceiving, it puts you on Ponce... Where there is an entrance but it's set back from the street, so not visible. If you turn onto Adair you will find street parking. The dog park is really nice. I love the fact that it is shaded for warmer days. Even though it is mulch it doesn't seem as dusty and dirty as other dog parks. Plenty of seating. People were friendly and dogs were well mannered, which I can say is a rarity at other Atlanta parks. Can't wait to go back.

Lots of places to sit at a table within the boundaries of the dog park.

They also do not separate dogs by weight/size, so if you are uncomfortable bringing your small dog here then maybe this is not the place for you because dogs have all sizes play together. We personally love it here for our medium sized 60 pound dog.

The locations are always huge and well kept. But with so much space.. There should be way more staff!! Also, with all of that space, I really think they should consider a big dog/ small dog park section. Maybe with separate entrances and a partition instead of gate as to not stimulate gate aggression. Or a space for big dogs with hunting/prey drive. There were people who had no control of their dog there... and that was very annoying and uncomfortable. The bar, and activities sounded like a fun idea in theory but, it's just dangerous and idk if it's worth the danger of such a large severely understaffed park. Drinks were good, no food allowed.

A few of us started coming here when our usual dog park became ill-maintained. We love the fact that there is grass, a functional water fountain (although it is in a concrete area between the two entrance gates... could they not have put it inside the park?), benches, and it seems to be well-maintained. Downsides are the extreme noise from I-285, suspicious looking people wandering around the park (If you come here with a group or other dogs, you will be fine), and there's soooooo many mosquitos in the summer because of the nearby pond. Also, because it is not visited often, and also quite large, there's a lot of dog poop that never got picked up either due to irresponsibility of the owner or simply not being able to find it!

This park is connected to a beautiful cemetery with such interesting history and views. It is so calming walking the paved paths amongst the burial sites and seeing the love and adoration of the families caring for their ancestors' resting places over the years. This park also has a tennis court, a public pool, a basketball court, a small baseball field, a general field, a pond, and a playground. It is clean and quiet, and those visiting the park are incredibly friendly. I tend to rate parks based on their visitors, and most of my "good evenings" were met with a very pleasant response unlike some of the more busy parks in ATL. There were families riding their bikes together, couples strolling amongst the graveyard, an older gentleman fishing in the pond, young men competing on the basketball court, people respectfully walking their dogs, a yoga session happening in the field and much more. This park is a catch-all for any age and experience. I'm sure I'm missing some of the amenities -- it has a lot to offer. Shout out to Decatur for maintaining this little gem. I highly recommend.
