She is calm and professional, which is a great fit for me and our kiddos. She greets us first when walking into the room and lets me ask all the questions that I have stored up. She never rushes me, although I always try to be courteous of her time. Her knowledge of child development is excellent and she takes the time to educate the children on things like nutrition, listening to your body, respecting your body, etc. She is also very open to examining your child while they sit on your lap or hold your hand. She tells children what she is going to do before she does it. (Ex/ this lets me see inside your ear. here is the button that turns on the light...) This is good for my shy kiddos, rather than rushing them through an exam. I find that she listens to me and my children and respects our concerns and feelings. I'm also so happy that she suggested using "a chaser" of formula for my newborn daughter who was losing weight and not getting enough through breastfeeding alone. So after I nursed, I followed up with a small amount of formula and that just made a world of difference to her happiness and health, as well as my feelings of guilt in not providing enough. We love Dr. Erica!

It all starts with the manager Elizabeth Marin she's a person that doesn't know how to treat patients and there parents she's super RUDE to people and she over charges, for no shows and yes the majority of the reviews here are not lieing I have nothing bad to say about the rest of the staff.. can't say the same about Dr. Perez he is very influenced by this woman and does not respect or lisen to his employees point of view he goes base off what ever this person says or does And ever since I first complained about her and her ways she started to attack me in different ways to get me to quit. So sad had to go thru this with such awful people that harasses at ur work place.... We have a great connection and she has good bedside manners and doesn't rush you through your visit. If she feels like you need to see a specialist then she will refer you to one's here that are good to see. She's one of the good doctors who care for her patients asking good questions etc. There's also a phlebotomist here that is wonderful Denise who I met today! Wow she can draw blood of small veins people like myself who is also scared of needles! One try and she got it wow! Believe me if she's working when I need bloodwork done I will request her for sure!! The place is clean and modern. They are off the main road of Lake st in addison. The hospital name changes since I've been coming here but the staff is still around They take most insurance including Medicare and Medicaid too! You can also come here for urgent care as well. I also like that they have a phone app to see your results and appointments and email within the app with your doctors if they are in their network. Overall I don't have issues working with them. So I'm staying put cause they are so close to home from me!

She is so disinterested in her job, that if she hangs up on you, she cannot even bother to call you back. Also, EVER SINGLE TIME my son had to have a prescription - I HAVE HAD TO CALL THE OFFICE BACK TO ACTUALLY SEND IT. They claim to have already sent it initially. Which I find hard to believe since I have to call the office back every time because the pharmacy had not yet received it. I called to have them fax something to my son's new pediatrician, and was told "they don't fax anything" and I need to come into the office to get it, but can send his immunization records via email. Which is the only thing they seem to activate timely, or with any thought. I only put up with them for so long because my child is special needs, and does not like change. However he has had an ear infection for what seems like his whole life. And the ONLY treatment is always allergy medication , amoxicillin and Tylenol. AND IT ONLY MAKES HIM FEEL BETTER FOR A FEW DAYS. I have asked the last 3 times WHY DOES THIS PERSIST. And I get some lame explanation about fluid build up. WELL IF THE FLUID IS ALWAYS BUILDING UP, AND HE IS ALWAYS HURTING - WHY THE SAME "TREATMENT"... That is not a doctor. That is not treatment. That is putting a band aid on what seems to be a much larger problem. I AM SOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY to never have to deal with the reception again. She seems nice enough, but to me doesn't seem to care about, or do her job effectively. I have been a receptionist, and in customer service, and this is the worst display I have ever seen in a doctors office of service. Also the office should be updated. It is very old and dingy. The TV in the waiting area seems to be older than I am. And appears to be a hazard in my opinion. The chairs are disgusting. I am sure there are other offices that donate there old equipment, which would be of use looking into for these people if they are too cheap to update the office. Obviously don't care bout the comfort of the patients... and seriously do not take pride in office presentation. it is pretty sad. Also they are barely open , so your kid better not get sick on a certain day, or they will surely suffer more than already do for not getting proper care! I moved back in November and my kids got sick so I needed to find a doctor ASAP being that they had Covid symptoms. The doctor told me it would be $150 per visit per kid, I called my insurance they said they never heard of a doctor asking for money upfront due to me being on Medicaid. They gave me a reference number and retroactive the date so there shouldn't be an issue, she still charged us. We paid her $500 for 2 visits. She told us we would be reimbursed once we brought the insurance cards in showing her name on them. We did that about a week later. Then they tell us, after multiple times of saying we would get the money back that day, mind u this was out of our Christmas money and we don't make a whole lot of money as I'm sure she does. Too much I would say. Then they tell us it will take 30 to 90 days. Slapped yet another lie on us. We waited a month and called back she said she hasn't received any money. I called the insurance company a few weeks later and they tell me not only was she not supposed to charge us but that she was paid 10 days after the appt! Another lie! This went on for a few weeks of us trying to get our money back which was well over Christmas at this point. Finally after her lieong to us I call her and confront her and she send out only half of the money but she was had already been paid 10 days after the appointment. We didn't get the first check until mid January apt was in November. We have yet to receive the other half. Reading others reviews she has a habit of taking peoples money for services that are covered by insurance. I filed a grievance with my insurance because they were shocked to hear how she is ripping us off. I call her today and tell her I spoke to the insurance she was reimbursed quite a while ago and I need the rest of the money sent out. Not only that but she told me it is my responsibility to make sure the insurance pays her! FAKE! LIE! The insurance told me that is false she is responsible for contacting them about her getting paid which she has already been paid. When I spoke to her today, very respectfully she told me I am a low class person and I'm not receiving anymore money. This sickens me! I have paperwork coming stating she should of never charged me in the first place. She told me when I told her this that she doesn't care if I file a grievance and I can take my kids somewhere else. Which I planned on already they have anew doctor. On top of that when I took my kids to see her she didn't even test them for Covid. I do not see how she can try to get away with this when it is so obviously wrong. She has been paid by me and my insurance for one visit that I shouldn't have had to pay for in the first place and I received one lie after another! On top of that the staff is lazy and the office in my opinion is dirty and needs to be properly token care of. I feel sorry for the people who she had presumably done this to and has gotten away with it because they do not confront her. I am not going to be one of those people. If I have to hire a lawyer out of pure morality I will do that because this is foul and gives good doctors a bad name. After speaking to our nurse further she made sure to let us know that their policy is to give kids 36 months and older the multi dose flu shot (w thimerosal) but the single dose preservative free is available upon request. Besides being insanely irresponsible, she did mention our daughter had the preservative free in 2017 without ever giving us an option. I wonder how many physicians in that group will go on record showing us their own children this age getting the multi dose. Shame on you Elmhurst Pediatrics. Our daughter is still dealing with multiple tics both verbal and physical suddenly ever since the injection. Maybe she is extra sensitive to mercury - who knows.
