not sure what the deal is with the 5 star reviews from others but I can assure you this this place by no means deserves 5 stars. I've been coming here for a couple of years now and I will say the service is fine. I have never really had to wait long to see the optometrist. The main down side to this office is the limited selection of glasses. The last time I came here I had to take my prescription to Lenscrafters because they have so little frames to choose from. Yes, come here for eye care and prescriptions, but go elsewhere for your frames. read more

I been coming to acuvision in whittier for over 7 years and each year my personal experience becomes highly great. Dr Wang is awsome not only do his staff treat u with respect but make u feel welcoming like home. Dr Wang takes his time to examine my eyes and does his best to provide me with the best up to date contacts and glasses for my kids. The staff are also very patient in trying to fit the right eye glasses for you until we are satisfied with no rush. My daughter's and I truly recommend acuvision. In my 27 years of living, I've never visited an optometrist. However, a few weeks ago, I started to feel as though I was straining my vision and experiencing a lot more eye irritation, so I decided to go in for a check up. As all millenials, I went on YELP to search for the best optometrist in town, and once again it did not let me down. I called in and the receptionist was able to tell me what insurance I had and what services I could get with them. When I went in for an appointment they saw me promptly and were incredibly friendly. The staff also helped me pick out cute frames and just made the whole experience extremely pleasant. read more

Second time visiting this optometrist office. Overall a good experience, Dr. Yang is super friendly and knowledgeable. I definitely felt welcomed by the staff as soon as I walked in. The office is very small but yet very clean and neat. Dr. mentioned office will be moving up the street soon to a much bigger location. Which brings me to my next point of the small selection of frames. Maybe it's the size of the office but the selection of frames is very small and lots of the frames are all high end, which are beautiful but not afforded by everyone. The prices for the actual vision test and the prescription are comparable to other places. Although I expected a breakdown itemized receipt the staff member said it would take a while so she would put it in my tray for when I pick up glasses. My suggestion is to provide that itemized receipt when the customer pays, not weeks after. Sometimes one would like to share this with significant other to justify such a large expense. I really like this place. The entire staff is friendly and knowledgable, making it less awkward to have a stranger staring into your eyes. I usually see Dr. Cheung, who always goes the extra mile to make sure that my contacts or glasses are just right. She's very thorough and helpful; so much so that I'm willing to drive to Whittier to see her despite the fact that there are dozens of optometry offices between my home and this office. I have never had an exam from Dr. Wang, but he is always very friendly, as well. Crystal, Carolina and Regina in the front office have all been very helpful with frame selection. I'm very indecisive and after awhile it's hard for me to be objective, but I've come to really trust the girls and their advice about what complements my face, etc. Plus, they're super courteous whenever I call w/questions about my vision coverage. I really like the frame selection here, too. It's not an overwhelming number of choices, but I consider that a good thing. I'm always able to find a number of styles that are on-point with my taste. I usually end up w/two final contenders in my hand -- the "cute-and-inexpensive" pair and the "I-really-don't-want-to-spend-this-much-but-damn-these-are-cute" pair. Extra points for this place being able to accommodate my husband's request for a Saturday appointment!! I've referred co-workers here and they've had positive experiences, as well. read more

Best place for optometry! I've seen several optometrists over 20 years and Dr. Wang is by far the best! He is extremely patient and thorough. There is also a huge selection of glasses. He was also excellent with my 5 year old and caught some vision problems that I suspected but her pediatric exam missed. read more

Been a patient here for several years (since they opened). The staff is warm, welcoming, and focused on taking care of me and my family. They are thorough in their exams, explain things very well, and proactive in my care. They answer all of my questions... and then some. Dr. Wang is excellent. He clearly has a passion for patient care. He takes great pride in his work and makes me feel like I'm his only patient when I'm with him. He's also very honest and will refer me elsewhere when appropriate. I appreciate that he doesn't try to sell me stuff that I don't want. I started coming here a couple of years ago due to my brother's recommendation and am glad I made the switch over. Fantastic customer service from the entire team and very thorough eye exam. For example, when I was looking for a pair of glasses, I really liked a pair that one of the employees was wearing, so she popped out the lenses off her own glasses and let me try them on! I ended up ordering a pair and absolutely love them. My eye glasses and contacts also arrived earlier than expected which is always a plus. read more

Dr. Stephanie Yang is fantastic; very pleasant and professional and helpful. She thoroughly and patiently examined our mom's eyes and compiled a complete report of possible issues and solutions. The staff at Acuvision is equally impressive. I went in to get my eyes checked because I thought they were getting tired too quickly in front of my computer. Within 15 minutes of my visit I was diagnosed with astigmatism. Once the doc dialed in the right lenses I was seeing in 4k. My prescription glasses arrived within the week. Oh, and the staff is super friendly. read more

Okay but can I give this place ten stars? Honestly the SINGLE best experience I have had in my whole life when it comes to optometry, and I have been in one optometry office or another since I was a fetus. Dr. Wang is so amazing, he explains everything on layman's terms to me because I am THAT patient, the nosy one who wants to know what everything is for and why he is doing it. He puts forth a level of patience that is unmatched by even your grandma. I don't feel stupid when I really can't immediately spew out which number is better between "one and two" and "three and four" and he doesn't rush me, he just goes back as far as I need to and waits for my eyes to adjust after he suggests that I blink. When he asks me a question about family history or even about mundane things that come up in the regular chit-chat of an office visit I can see that he is listening. Since I do have such a need for vision correction but also bear the unfortunate cross of being far-sighted he discusses at length what my options are and I just never feel rushed. Their deals are great and even when it's my fault that I have waited so long to come in and have no lenses left to wear, he hooks me up with a pair for that day. The office is clean, modern, and small. They always have Food Network channel on, which I love, while you are waiting... but I have never once waited long at all and I have been going there for years now. I came her because I was having some eye issues and also wanted to get contacts. Both Dr. Wang and Dr. Chueng are great! They really spend time with you and discuss your concerns. They are very thorough and even though they said my eyes were healthy they gave me my options as to what steps I should take in follow up care. Everyone is nice, welcoming, and very helpful. From the moment I got to the office I knew I made the right choice. The staff was friendly, profesional, and caring. The doctor preformed a very complete eye exam like no other optometrist that I've visited before. It made me feel like he really cared about my vision. I've asked previous doctors if I was eligible for lasik and they said no, however he said I was a good candidate. I LOVE this place!! In all my 22 years I have never had trouble with my eye sight. When my eyes started turning on me I made an appointment with AcuVision. I walked in and the receptionist was very friendly, and was very patient with me while I gathered a good amount of frames to choose from while I waited for my exam. She gave me my basic eye test and told me to wait for the Dr. Unfortunately , I cannot recall her name, but she made me feel very comfortable as it was my first exam with an optometrist. I have been coming to Dr. Wang for many years. He makes sure that you are completely satisfied with your eye ware. Dr.Wang works with you when fitting you with the correct contact lenses. The office staff is very friendly. They have a great selection of frames and each time I buy glasses I can't help but buy a couple of sunglasses as well.
