I went to Dr. Yan He on the recommendation of a friend and I have not been disappointed. She is really nice - very soft spoken and calming. I don't have a lot of experience with acupuncture but I have had a few sessions in the past and have enjoyed Dr. He much more than the last clinic I went to. I like that she told me in the first session that I will probably need 4 to 5 sessions (not a lifetime of sessions!) so I knew what to expect. And with the herbal supplements, she told me to take some for the first week to clean my system and then some others for the 2nd to improve my blood / weak pulse. So again, I knew what to expect rather than wondering if I'll need to take these herbs for the rest of my life. After just two sessions I've seen positive improvements in areas that weren't even my identified problem areas! Dr. Luna Liu has been my acupuncturist since last year and has helped me resolve many issues. One issue is mold allergies that I have always suffered from year round. Dr. Yan He is an exceptional practitioner. So exceptional that my aunt in Houston drives 2.5 hours each way just to receive treatment from Yan. Dr. Yan has done wonders for my mom's health. She originally started seeing Dr. Yan after suffering bell's palsy stroke. The treatments helped her regain her jaw/ facial movements and appearance. Now she is getting treatment for pain and to help with her digestion. She has had diabetes for a long time and western medicine has helped control her blood sugar but has done little to assist with the pain and digestive problems caused by diabetes. I am almost speechless in trying to describe how much Acupuncture Plus has helped me. Dr. Wang the owner is always there and always super friendly asking me how my sessions are going. Dr. Wang saved my back. For years I have had low back pain. One day it got so bad I almost called an ambulance. I decided to give acupuncture a try. When I got there he told me 3 treatments would get rid of the pain, 8 and it wouldn't come back. I asked him what do you mean it won't come back??? It will be fixed he replied. I've been to acupuncture treatments way more than 100X - the first visit was not what I wanted or needed, the second visit Dr. Wang performed a specific procedure I insisted upon, next day I was 90% better, total relief within a few days. Dr. Wang was pleasant and accommodating but he didn't listen to me, he did not, in my opinion, take enough time to perform a proper examination as I've experienced numerous times before. He was too busy with other patients, twice he placed needles on my body and left the room, coming back after 20 minutes or so. Absolutely not what I'm accustomed to and left me with an empty feeling. Nice smile, pleasant but cold and distant, additionally I've not ever paid such a high price, perhaps it's just Texas? Since this was my first ever visit to an OMD in Texas I have nothing to compare to, but out on the coast visits were never more than $50.00 and most times even less than that. On the coast I went to acupuncture 1, 2 or 3 times weekly for years, sometimes for specific ailments, other times for general health treatments so I know what I'm talking about. In closing, Dr. Wang got the job done by performing a special procedure that I had to insist he perform, had he taken more time and had he shown more interest, perhaps, and in spite of the large cost I would probably have gone back when needed. Dr Wu heals my urine infection, which bothers me for a least 2 years, my urologist who graduated from John Hopkins 40 yrs ago told me there are thousands of people suffer the same infection and as soon as you stop the antibiotic the infection came back, which was my case, I was on low dose antibiotic for 4 months, then took 3 package of Wu's herb, the infection stops and never came back, not sure if it was the ongoing antibiotic or the herb, I did stop the antibiotic after taking herb. Very grateful, not all Chinese medicine works for wonder you just have to give it a try, and stop if it doesn't work, listen to your body when you start taking herb. I got lucky.
