Over the course of the last 3 years I can confidently tell you what an amazing man and hidden gem he is. A crisis in our country is the state of the healthcare industry and the toll it takes on providers. Providers can become so overworked or burnt out that they forget to see their patient as a person or have so little time that spending any extra time advocating can seem daunting. Dr. Gburek found me at the lowest point in my life. By simply listening to me, treating me like a human being, and advocating for me; he made all the difference in the world. He carefully made care plans based on my life goals like having children and factors such as my age to refer me to specialists. I had a unique case where I became medically handicapped in terms of medication. Steroids and NSAIDs cause me to develop stomach issues I had never even heard of. Stomach issues that caused me to be unable to eat regularly for nearly an entire year. I was wasting away to nothing while I waited for Cigna or any doctor to help me. I had lost 20 pounds unintentionally in 365 days. He tried to send me to specialists that could find an answer for my symptoms, but to my dismay, those specialists had no answer for me or even any ideas of how to help me. If you've ever been in that position you know how lonely and desolate it can be. It was traumatic To even be brought to that point I spent years of my life arguing with Cigna that my life mattered but, naturally, they only want to hear what the doctor thinks. Even if that doctor has not throughly completed an assessment, offered any treatments aside from medication, or been inappropriate with your care. Dr. Gburek is not one of those providers. He takes your health and goals seriously and will advocate to give you your life back. He is the only provider who advocated for me with Cigna over the last 3 years. My health struggles robbed me of my identity and I believed there was no hope. Dr. Gburek did not leave me with no hope and he did not leave me without solution. Instead, he fought for me and saved my life. By giving me a life with manageable pain, I am able to pick back up the pieces of who I used to be and who I want to become while continuing to help others as he helped me. I want providers like Dr. Gburek to know how important their care is so they don't lose sight of why they do this and continue to help people. I want patients to see this and know that there is hope for your case. He deserves all the praise and I am incredibly thankful for my healthcare hero. Experiencing a chronic health struggle can be dark but hopefully you can find someone like Dr. Gburek to turn on the light.

The injections were quick and smooth (not going to say painless because that would be lying) but if you can't have it a little pain, they have the option for a local and aesthetic. If you are dealing with back or hip pain or pain in general your body, I would highly recommend scheduling a visit through your doctor.

Awaiting a full spine and brain MRI they ordered with no hesitation. They really made me feel at ease, and I know they are determined to get to the bottom of my complex situation. I hardly ever write reviews... but this one is long overdue…read more I had been seeing Dr. Raffi for about a year, and due to personal reasons I had to switch Dr's for maintenance of flair ups. I'm starting an intensive physical therapy program and hoping I won't need maintenance for too much longer. That being said, I am grateful for the time I had with Dr. Rafii. Dealing with a chronic pain condition can be stressful for the Dr. and patient both. But navigating those waters of trial and error didn't seem bad at all with him. It felt more like a team collaboration. Even when times were easy to give up and refer me out...he didn't. It was actually that exact act of kindness that made me want to explore outside of the box of just traditional pain meds. I felt like I had a cheerleader as cheesy as that sounds. The front office has many processes that assist in this level of organization. We have never experienced wait time here. Tom is so appreciative that Dr. Raffe takes his pain issues seriously and worked to find a potential treatment in pain relief for him. (Life changed for us when we had a serious motor vehicle accident 4/2/2022. Our plans to travel during retirement may have to be on a very limited basis based on Tom's back and neck pain.) His PCP and Neurosurgeon despite being great physicians weren't able to offer a plan of action. The consultation at Diagnostic Pain Management has offered some hope. Dr. Raffii ordered an MRI to see about his spinal column status. We are here to review the results. Although at our age it is expected that there will be arthritis, there appears to be some fluid that is likely caused from the incident. Hopefully the test injection that Tom will undergo next week, will support him going forward with the appropriate medication to help in controlling the pain in the lower back. I came to her after a car accident and a disappointing experience with another neurologist who dismissed my symptoms as anxiety and refused to order imaging. Dr. Wingrove did thorough in-office testing, saw red flags for spinal cord damage, and ordered the imaging that confirmed severe compression in my cervical spine. Her care quite literally changed the course of my health. I needed surgery, and without her, the condition would have gone undiagnosed and worsened. She's also responsive via the patient portal and open-minded to different treatment options. I went in today for my monthly follow up appointment. I had had a neck surgery last week which turned out to be extremely painful. I had been in the office the day after the surgery to receive some stronger medication while I healed. Today Dr. White walked in and I couldn't believe what followed. I had waited patiently for over an hour to see him. Then he finally came in and he was extremely agitated. So much so that he was shaking and pacing around the room. I started trying to tell him why I was requesting to see him instead of his PA this visit. He started cutting me off while I was talking, responding very rudely to what I was saying. Then he seemed to lose patience and launched into what turned out to be a 5 minute long assault on me and my character. He told me that I was a liar and a drug addict. He told me that I was obsessed with pain medication. When I tried to respond, surprised but calmly, he swore at me and told me he didn't care what I had to say. He cited early refills and multiple ER visits. When I tried to point out that I had never gone to the ER unless directed to do so by his office, I was again cut off and not allowed to speak. He continued on in a manner that I can only think to describe as cruel and abusive. I was cut off and shut down everytime I tried to speak or ask a question. This went on for almost 5 minutes and he ended by saying that I was to see their addiction specialist to be placed on Suboxone. Then he walked out. I was so shocked by his behavior that I just walked out without a word. To be clear, this is not about the accusation that I was addicted to pain medication. I have been on pain meds for a long time and Dr. White had some valid points. This is entirely about the way he handled it, the way I was treated. He was overly aggressive, too loud, he called me a liar and a drug addict repeatedly, he swore at me and kept cutting me off by telling me he "didn't give a damn" how I was feeling. I believe his attitude and his rant at me fall into the category of abusive. I felt so degraded and embarrassed by the time I left. Not to mention he has left me with only two days of medication left, shortly following a very painful neck surgery. I filed a complaint with Advanced Pain Care and may file one with the Texas Medical Board. What happened to me in that office today was not okay. I will never step foot into that facility again. Update: I spoke to the practice manager at Advanced Pain Care. According to her, the nurse in the room contradicted my complaints. She said the doctor was "stern" with me and never swore. While it's true he didn't cuss me out or anything, he did say "I don't give a damn what you feel about....". I felt it was inappropriate and unprofessional. As far as him being stern, that is a gross understatement. Apparently Dr. White expressed that he was only trying to help me. Well Dr. White, if you feel that's true then I'd like you to know that you have an *awful* way of showing it.
