I have suffered from chronic back pain more than 1/2 of my life. I have been to a few different chiropractors throughout the years with varying results. I can honestly say that Dr.Tony Z's treatments have been truly amazing and the results have been far superior to any treatment I have received in the past. First of all let me say that the ENTIRE staff are very friendly and pleasant. Dr. Tony Z. is one of the nicest people you will ever meet in your life. Came in on a cane and barely able to walk, (tendonitis, quad muscle in some serious pain.) I couldn't recommend Active Rehab Clinics more. A few months ago I had surgery to repair my barely functioning shoulder and within only 2 months of rehab I now have full range of motion and more strength in that shoulder than I ever did! As an active and adventurous person I was devastated to feel debilitated in any way and terrified of the outcome of a surgery and where it would leave me in terms of my ability to do what I used to. I recovered faster than expected and I accredit that to Max and Tony - I started feeling a difference with my first couple sessions. They're miracle workers! I have had chronic back pain for years. I thought it was just normal for a guy in my mid 30s. Then I took a fall a few months ago and the pain got worse and I decided to ask my physician for advice. He told me there weren't many good options, but that he'd recommend trying physical therapy rather than surgery. I found a physical therapist at Athletico. I went 3 times a week for a month. My back just got worse and worse. The pain expanded to my neck. Finally my fiancé went on line and found Dr. Tony. I heeded her advice and called him. He heard how much pain I was in and said he'd find a way to get me in despite his busy schedule. The next day, after a very short wait (less than 5 minutes), I met Dr. Tony. By this point I had sharp pain in my mid-back and had very limited mobility in my neck. When I left, I had much better mobility in my neck. After the next session, I was back to close to 100% mobility in my neck. So then we went to work on my back. And now, not quite a month later: I've felt steady progress and feel better than I've felt in months. The exercises he gave me in some cases were the exact opposite of stretches the Athletico PT had given me. Dr. Tony explains things clearly and never treated me with 'kid gloves' like previous PTs. I told Dr. Tony my goal was to be pain free by my wedding day this spring. We're well on our way to beating that goal. I've thought a lot about why Dr. Tony helped me so much where the PTs at Athletico failed. More knowledge: certainly. Different techniques: yes. Dr. Tony mixes soft tissue work with Chiropractic adjustments in addition to exercises to build strength. But more than anything else: It's clear that Dr. Tony and his staff truly care about my well-being and happiness. They want me to be pain free. They want me to no longer need them! I came into Active Rehab for a lower back injury, called the day I got my X-Rays and began therapy later that afternoon. The hours and staff are extremely accommodating and friendly and you can tell there is real focus on getting you stronger and more mobile. Dr Tony, from the onset, stressed that his goal was not just to relieve my pain, but to provide me with the exercises and instructions to keep me from injuring myself in the future. I Initially came to Active Rehab after a surgery that left me immobile for a month and caused a horrible herniated disc to pinch my sciatic nerve in February. I'm not sure why yelp always does this every time I write a good review about a place, but for some reason, they filtered my review out which really is annoying, considering I took time outbid my day to write it. So stop it yelp. This is a real review! When I first came in to start physical therapy, I was in excruciating pain from a pretty bad case of plantar fasciitis. With the help of Dr. Zemlinsky and his awesome therapists, I'm almost back to 100%. The front desk staff is amazing. Patricia always has a smile on her face and is always so helpful to patients. Georgia, one of the therapists, is what makes this office rock! Between her magic hands and her huge welcoming heart, PT doesn't seems like a walk in the park. Dr. Tony has completely changed my life! I suffered from a rare life threatening illness called Cushing's Disease for many years. A decade of lingering symptoms and the impact of the disease left me in critical deteriorating health. After 2 surgeries, including a brain surgery and having my adrenal glands removed, I knew that recovery would be a long process, even with remission. Residual symptoms included muscle atrophy and horrible pain all over my body! My pain doctor referred me to Dr. Tony and it forever changed my life! In this past year, I have gone from being practically bed ridden to being able to walk without the assistance of any device! Just got an invoice from this lame "International Institute of Health" - who are you guys trying to fool with that name??? - trying to collect amount $200. You guys really are something. Not only did you have me getting rehab care from the provider that is NOT who I was told I'd be meeting with - this used car salesman Tony - and instead was meeting with this young girl who was very likely a college student there as a intern getting paid for "experience". God only knows what experience he was giving her after-hours. I've already spoken with my insurance company and thankfully they will be appealing this claim so these dirtbags don't get another penny. Was attracted by the 5 star rating but it is not 5 stars. Actual physical therapists appear to be interns/students (probably working for little/no pay for experience) in a cramped tiny room. My time here ended with me waiting for the head therapist on a massage table for 15 minutes with gel he had put on my back, then walked out of the room, I waited and waited and waited.. then with no one in site I walked out and left (after having to use a towel to get the gel off my back) and no one even noticed anything and I didn't receive any phone call after apologizing for what had happened which was clearly obvious as my session never technically ended. I went to see an orthopedic after having serious pain in both sides of my hips for over six months. After movement tests and x-rays he determined I had two pelvic fractures and advised me to stay away from all physical activity for six to eight weeks. I followed his advice and unfortunately saw no improvement. I went back and his recommendation was to avoid physical activity for a bit longer. I have been active my whole life and hearing this was hard and not what I wanted to hear. A friend who knew about my injury said, "you have to meet Dr. Tony, he will change your life". I was introduced to Dr. Tony in February 2013. He took a look at my x-rays, diagnosed and explained my injury to me so that I could understand where my pain was stemming from, explained how I should have been actively rehabbing my injury rather than avoiding all activity, and finally told me to come to the aquatic center that Thursday. After a month of training in the pool twice a week I felt serious improvement. Every week forward I felt less and less pain. About three months after my first time working in the pool Dr. Tony asked me, "Any pain this week?" I realized that, no, for the first time in months I did not feel any sort of pain. I was amazed. I spent over six months with an orthopedic and saw no improvement and after three months of actively rehabbing my injury with Dr. Tony I was feeling 100%. I like to call myself Dr. Tony's biggest fan and words really can't describe how grateful I am to him and his team of intelligent, talented and caring staff. He is not only my doctor, but also has become a great friend and treats me like family. He genuinely cares about his patients and does everything he can to help others feel their best. In 2012 I was diagnosed with 3 herniated discs. In addition I have severe arthritis, bone spurs and torn meniscus in both knees. My orthopedic surgeon recommended spine surgery, but said I could try an epidural to see if I got any relief. I went to see a pain management doctor and he referred me to Dr. Zemlinsky for water rehabilitation. Unfortunateily, before I could start treatment I was in an automobile accident. Dr. Tony treated me for the accident and then continued my therapy for my underlying problems. Tony showed a genuine interest in me and my progress, and I felt like he took time to make a more customized rehab schedule to meet my needs, progress, and body type. My only complaints is that the facility / equipment were not the nicest/newest. During my rehab the facilities were having work done so it began to look nicer by the end of my stay. With a smaller office, it was odd when there were multiple clients rehabbing at the same time, but when it was just me I was able to get personalized 1 on 1 attention. This was a great place for me to go to rehab and I felt like i left in better condition than I was pre-injury. Everyone was great and made the rehab process a pleasant experience for me. I was having serious nerve pain in my lower back and sciatic nerve at 6pm on a Saturday. I could barely walk. I called several Chiropractors trying to make an appointment. Tony answered the phone after-hours and walked me through a 20 minute routine (over the phone) that elevated my pain with no charge. He asked a lot of questions then guided me through how to elevate the pain, also explaining what the issues are. I have since gone to several treatment session and am on my path to recovery. My problem is a herniated disc resulting from bad posture habits and lack of exercise. Previous doctors had prescribed drugs and misdiagnosed my issues. I have committed to two times per week for the next 6 weeks. After 4 short visits I have full motion in my neck. I was able to look over my right shoulder for the first time in years!
