Activate Games is by far the best activity I've discovered in the past year. The variety of the gaming rooms and the games without them, and the format of quick 1-3 minute games, is absolutely perfect. I love the mix of high-cardio and calm strategy games. It is absolutely perfect for an outing with my wife or friends. I've even gone with my coworkers, the only time I see them outside of work. It is an absolute must-do as often as I can. My only two critiques: 1) they don't allow solo reservations. You need to have at least two people in order to play. If they allowed me to play when I can't find a partner to play with, I'd probably play 3x as often 2) at Pointe Orlando they don't validate parking. That extra $8-13 to park my car here for an hour or two *really* hurts, and more than one friend has told me that additional fee is what's stopping them from coming more often. So may businesses at Pointe validate, it's a little crazy that Activate doesn't. read more

When you arrive, you'll check in with the friendly and informative team members up front. They'll get you set up with wrist bands, a locker if needed, have you sign a waiver (if not completed online) and create your account to get you started. If it's your first time, a team member will walk you through the process. Then I recommend you do a light stretch because you are in for a very intense (depending on your stamina and competitiveness) 60-90 minutes. Each room is designed to keep you moving, physically and mentally with several game options per room. Up to 5 players per room. One of the highlights is the point system, players earn points for completing challenges and leveling up. There is also a leader board to track your progress against your group or other players. The points you accumulate can be redeemed for various rewards. You can let them stack up or not, your choice. This place is great for families, friends, team building and dare I say date night..... This was SO FUN!! we had a ball. Played so many different games and I loved that there were so many options. The floor is lava, basketball, laser, word scramble. We played one game twice and it's def team oriented, I wouldn't come alone. It's a workout so I suggest wearing sneakers. Scanning the wristbands is another great feature, and so is the photo booth. The guy working at 12:50pm on 1/3 really needs an attitude check, it was such a damper to our experience. We checked before coming and there were plenty of spots in reservation timeslots so we didn't think we would need a reservation. When we approached the desk, the worker was extremely rude and condescending, we had come once before on a group reservation and he asked "well have you been here before" and we said "yeah we have" and he said "well how did you make the reservation then" and we told him that it was a friend it wasn't us so we didn't know. We all work in the service industry and are very patient and all agreed that his attitude was so foul. I asked about paying to extend, and in a rude attitude he told us that we need to complete our session and come back to see if he has slots available to extend. So he booked the time slot for us and we waited 20 minutes. When we came back, he was playing or texting on his phone behind the counter and none of us wanted to be served by him, so we waited for the woman next to him to be available to get our wrist bands. Firstly, that is so backwards. Why would the people who are there first not get first pick of an extension of time rather than someone else who comes? We were a group of 4 and the attitude left such a sour taste in our mouthed that we didn't extend, which was a loss of business for you. It was busy but not over crowded while we played, but having a room down for "coming soon" left people waiting at other rooms more rather than occupied. I enjoyed my first visit and it was a mixed bag this time... we'll be back eventually but I can't say I'll rush to spend my money here any time soon based on this experience alone. read more

A lot of fun!! This place has some really fun rooms and games to play ranging from simple throwing basketballs to dodging around a wall of lasers like a spy. There is also a score board for those that want to visit more regularly. The rooms are limited to a specific group size and the halls have been crowded at times when I've been there, but I haven't had to wait more than one group for any room and they do limit the people during any given time. Some rooms and games are more physically demanding than others too so being physically fit can be a benefit. If you can get here during a slower time you'll have the best experience. The staff will give you a tour and are around to help when you need something. I'll definitely be coming back here again because it was soo much fun. read more

What an amazing place! I'm pretty sure it's a game disguised as a workout. Man was I exhausted after doing 1 hour here. However, it was so fun and with the different kinds of rooms you can thankfully switch it up if you're a little out of breath. From having to step on different light up tiles to hiding from the laser maze. You ended up doing a full body workout by the end of it. We did have a slight problem with one of the rooms. However, we just let the people at the front know and they were able to close the room down and get it working again while we were still there. They told us that they do a special on Wednesdays where you get an additional 15 minutes added on. However, my husband went last Wednesday with a group and they did not get the additional 15 minutes. This might be something you need to ask about. I'm not entirely sure. $30 for 60 minutes is a great price for this. read more

Me and a friend came at about 11:00am on a Friday to try. It was suggested to us since we enjoy gaming on PS/Xbox. When you go in, you pay for either an hour or 90 mins. You're given a wristband each for your profile/points recording and then an extra wristband to lock and unlock a locker for your belongings. You create your profile and then you scan the wristband when you decide a room you want to play. Each room had multiple versions of games and if you wanted to play collaboratively or competitively. We opted for competitively and I lost almost every game but they were so fun, I didn't even care lol. I can't wait to show more friends this place. I was visiting Orlando when I first tried this and noticed there's several locations in other states as well which is a plus! read more

SO MUCH FUN!!! The staff is super friendly and the place is clean and well thought out. We went pretty early in the opening and they were really organized even for just getting started. They space out the reservations so it never felt really crowded. All of the games are around 1-2 minutes and the system will let you know if someone is waiting so you never have to worry about someone taking up a lot of time in your room since your time continues to run while you are waiting so we didn't see any problems with that at all. We would hop from room to room and try the different games in each room and the levels as well. There really was a lot to try in each of the rooms and each had different challenges and physicality needed. This is not a place to come if you just want to sit and relax - we jumped, crawled, threw balls, shot lasers, and had A LOT OF FUN! We were a group of six, and although the only slight downside was that only five people are allowed per game room (which meant we had to split into two groups of three), it didn't take away from the experience at all. From the moment we arrived, the staff was friendly, the space was super clean, and everything was well-organized. Each room is like its own world, with multiple games per room and varying levels of difficulty. As you progress, the games get harder, which kept us super engaged the entire time. You're running, crawling, jumping, strategizing--this place is no joke when it comes to getting active (and sweaty ), so definitely wear comfy clothes and be ready to MOVE! We paid $42 per person for 90 minutes, and what I loved most is that you're only charged for the time you're actively playing. You get a wristband linked to your account, and each time you scan in, it tracks your actual gameplay. So if a game only lasts 2 minutes, you're only using 2 minutes of your total time. Super fair and flexible! Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this experience whether you're going with coworkers, friends, or family. For now Monday is discounted with 3 or more people, Tuesday is triple points, and Wednesday you get an extra 15 minutes added to your 60 or 90 minute package for free! Booking online wasn't working, so I called and was told there was a 10% discount for a group of 15. When we arrived, we were charged full price. I noticed the mistake, but the Activate staff couldn't issue a credit, refund the 10%, or even provide a gift card for future visits. We dealt with Julio (Team Lead), and the only options offered were for us to forfeit the promised 10% discount or cancel for a refund and lose our reservation. Julio said refunding and paying again wasn't possible, the staff essentially cost the owner $600 in business over a $60 discount. I opted for the refund and was informed that will take 3-5 business days. Overall, the staff showed a lack of common sense and no sense of entrepreneurship. Loved it! This is definitely a place for an active adult or family. You will be moving from start to finish. Work out clothes or loose fitting is recommended with comfortable shoes you can run in. The staff was great and it wasn't busy when we went. They have lockers available for personal belongings. I do recommend bring a bottle of water to store in the locker to drink as needed or they have water fountains available, but keep in mind you cannot bring food in here and no drinks available for purchase. Overall we lived this place and the games were so much fun. Tip for Activate: the basketball wall is made out of wood. I would suggest a bumper as I am kind of short and hit my elbow on there cutting it open. Tips for guest: Activate it on the lower level. Also, you may think this looks like a place to go after you've had a couple drinks but coming from someone who puked half way through the time slot... hydrate with water only!
