We decided to enjoy a little family fun day today and so my wife, youngest daughter (12yrs), parents and I figured we'd try tackling an escape room. My wife and I are avid escapees and have a pretty impressive win streak going. After some searching we landed on D2E and we were NOT disappointed. Sean and the whole crew made our first escape room experience a truly memorable and fun one - in fact, I've awakened at night wondering how we missed certain things and could have done it better I'm a timid soul and not terribly adventurous but the story, setting, and the interactivity really kept us all engaged - we were truly on a mission - and the time just flew (a great way to escape reality for a bit while working to escape the room). We reserved The Seventh Room for 3 adults and had a complete blast! The puzzles were challenging, but achievable and the theming/decor was SPOT ON! We went Saturday and we did the Asylum. My husband and I have done a few but the group we were in the majority of them this was their first time. We didn't make it out on time. The atmosphere was great and the theme of the room was great. It proved challenging, we weren't expecting math problems lol. Definitely would go back and do it again. The only few things I think they could improve on is, either have a second screen in the adjacent room you have to go to after you've solved the first one or have the game master assigned to us be on speaker in the second room when we needed a nudge, because we had to send a person back and forth to the first room to shout out the hints across the hallways and it wasted precious time. My other thing is as well as maybe add closed captioning to the story when the video for the first room as it starts because my husband is hearing impaired and he couldn't really hear the story as it was playing on the TV. We booked to go escape from the asylum room and this was my first ever escape room. We booked for a Sunday at 12:30pm upon arrival at 12:15pm we were geetrd by the staff members and they were supper nice & professional. Excellent customer service & very informative on what we needed to look for and not do. The game is so much fun and there is a button you press if you get stuck and need clues. Although spooky themed we felt safe because the staff explained everything we needed to know & explained they would be watching us and listening in case we needed any kind of help. I recommend this place as an escape room not only for the escape room but the staff was positive even though at the end we got a little stuck. You wont regret this adventure for sure a fun memory to look back at or come do it again. We will be back for different escape rooms they have. I hope the owners know how cool the staff they have is. Easy to find location. Clean waiting area (and rooms)! Super fun and friendly staff! (Matt was our game master for our first game). (1) Asylum was the first room we did. The Video Store was a fun room, and the puzzles flowed in a logical way. There were a few logistical issues with a combination and a lock not working right, but the game host paused the timer while we got that sorted out. Our game host was friendly, but was talking super fast during the instructions. She came off as a bit rushed, and it was sort of hard to understand her. However she did seem like a genuinely kind person, which is always great. The room itself isn't very large, but the theme is what makes it satisfying. I wasn't a huge fan of the creepy decor in the hallway bathroom. This isn't really somewhere I would bring kids who scare easily, since some of the decor is a bit eerie. The room itself kept us busy for the hour, and it worked well with a team of 4. I would've liked to have seen less combination puzzles, and more like unique puzzles. However, overall everyone seemed happy with the room experience. read more

We found this place on a whim and decided to go in to try one of their escape rooms. Once we entered, there were Halloween decorations everywhere and that was an awesome sight to see. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to put us into a room immediately so that was also awesome. We opted for their Asylum escape room because it was the scariest and I have to tell you that it was the coolest and scariest escape room ever. There were so many things to do in that escape room and we had four minutes left to spare but we escaped, thankfully. The staff were very helpful and answered any questions that we had. This was my first time ever participating or going to an escape room. Booking the room for my birthday with Sean was extremely easy and pleasant. When we arrived there was a welcoming lobby with various puzzles for us to try to solve while we wait for our room. John was our game master and he was awesome! The asylum was the room I chose to try to solve. I had an eerie feeling and the various banging made it all that much more exciting! I will not go into detail about the room just know it was a difficult room we almost made it out but John was there to help us throughout the whole time. Great escape room. We did the Dig because I'm into that kind of stuff, and it was a pretty small room, but ultimately very satisfying. The clues and the decorations were very well themed and there is a part when you really feel like you're on a dig. There a maps and cyphers, and hieroglyphs and it all makes sense and works very linearly. It was relatively easy and we were two people, but we've done many escape rooms and I feel like that helped us out. I liked that none of the puzzles were too obscure to where we wouldn't naturally figure them out, but at the same time they weren't super easy. They were basically right in that sweet spot where you really have to use your brain and are shocked that you were able to figure it out in time. Pat yourself on the back after this one, you probably won't need many clues, and it's very satisfying to complete. read more

(Rank 69 / 156, a good room with a little special something that we'll happily recommend to enthusiasts) Video store is a half lock / half tech based room, and is dare2escape's newest offering. While the lack of story felt like a regression compared to Archive, the interesting props and set in the room coupled with good puzzle gameplay made this a unique enough experience that enthusiasts should be able to appreciate. Set - You're basically in blockbuster, which is some nice nostalgia since those don't really exist anymore. I'm normally not a fan of sets youd find in every day experiences, but you don't really see many video store sets, and they did a really good job of making you feel like you're in a store front with a little outdoor area. The set itself has some typical things you'd find in a video store, which is probably unexciting to employees who have worked there, but kinda interesting for someone who hasn't. Story - Reasonable intro video, not much story during the game itself. We didn't see the end so it's possible that there was something, but we wouldn't have known. Puzzles - The puzzles were challenging, and there were a lot of them. A couple of them involved some more interesting interactions with props which was good. There was one puzzle throughout the game where you didn't have the pieces to solve it until very late into the game which was a bit annoying, since it felt like it could have been possible to solve earlier. This also occurred during the Archive, so it's possible that there could be some gameflow changes to minimize the annoyances. The game had some interesting interactions with props incorporated into the puzzles which was nice, and there was a noticeable increase in the tech used. Final Stats: Completed ~75% of the game in a group of 2 seasoned enthusiasts. read more

While a few of their older rooms were okay, their new rooms, Archive and 7th Room were horrible. While looking pretty most of the puzzles were awful. Tiny writing, hard to see little objects, and lots of leaps in logic. Also, staff likes to "defend" everything they do, so if you complain they all pow-wow in group chats and do everything the can to discredit anything you have to say online. The owner even "attacked" me online to where I have to say she seems off her rocker. What was once a decent company has gone down the toilet. Will never go back. read more

I've been to several escape rooms and this was one of the best. Me and my mother played the game "The Dig" and although we didn't win we were quite close. The game master was very helpful and friendly. The only con was you could hear the people in another room making a lot of noise but at some point we were so into the game it didn't even bother us. The concept of "The Dig" and the set up was very unique. It was my mother's first Escape room so the unlimited hints were very helpful. She was skeptical at first by but time we left she said she had so much fun she wants to go back again. Overall an amazing experience. Definitely would recommend and will return if ever in the Kissimmee area again! read more

I think I've visited just about every escape room business in the Orlando area, and this is one of my favorites (along with Escape Artists in Sanford and Escape Goat in Winter Garden). All three of the games at Dare 2 Escape are highly themed with a great story line and interesting puzzles. We were recommended to this place by the owners of Escape Artists (always a good sign), and it was better than we even expected! The first game we played was The Dig, with a group of five people. Being someone who usually plays with a group that's much smaller than the room's capacity, it did feel a bit cramped when we were in the first room, all stepping over each other to try to solve puzzles. But I was immediately blown away by the scenery and how well integrated the puzzles were. Ringmaster was my favorite of the three games, partly because I had never played another game with a carnival theme, even though the theme seems like a no-brainer. Again, the decor was amazing, and there were some unexpectedly awesome twists thrown in to this one. Asylum was super creepy and although technically there were no "jump scares," there were definitely some things that made my group jump. It's not super scary, but if you don't like scary rooms at all, this is probably not the room for you. Personally I'm hard to scare so I was able to appreciate the creepy vibes and was just startled once or twice. Asylum was my least favorite of the three rooms, but I still would highly recommend it and thought it was a great game. read more

Me and my girlfriend were on our way home From Orlando and didn't want to call it an early night so we decided to check out an escape room and we're glad that we did. From getting us a reservation last minute at 9:30pm to the moment we left was a great experience. Really feel like the staff goes above and beyond to ensure an enjoyable experience. We played the asylum room and had hunter as our game master, he was very good at knowing when to give a little nudge in the right direction and made the experience more enjoyable. Ahhhhh so much fun! Booked day of and got the escape room for Ringmaster for 7 people. We had the best time. Tricks and clues and all of it were perfect and we each found something we could do to be useful- thought we'd panic and argue but it wasn't like that all. Also, Matt and the other woman working were really cheerful and friendly and set the tone that we were there to have fun and solving a clever game. You don't get locked in, you can keep your phone, and you can ask for help (we did and their clues were useful without giving everything away). I wish I lived here so I could do all of the rooms- it is a whole story line starting with Asylum, so plan that first if you want to do all 4. Bathroom was super clean, price was on point, and overall it was an excellent way to spend an evening. read more

Just my boyfriend and I played The Seventh Room. I was a little worried how we would do since we don't have the best track record with escape rooms in groups, and this time it was just two of us. Our host was super sweet and helped us along the way in the best way possible. Basically reading my mind when I'd think "dang, I really need some help..." and not a second before. We were able to escape just in time. Decor was fabulous. Super immersive and the right amount of spooky without being distracting. The Seventh Room definitely plays into claustrophobia, however, so if you are iffy on that aspect, maybe choose one of their other rooms--they have a bunch! Next time we are in the area, we definitely plan to do another one--probably Asylum! read more

I took my granddaughter and her cousins to this escape room. Our tour guide advised that this is the scariest escape room in Orlando. She hyped up this experience as something we would talk about for years on end. as she walked us through this long hallway, we stopped at a door that was supposed to be our house, and she read us the storyline. When we entered there was a monitor on the floor to give us a hints. The room was the size of a closet. The entire set up was the size of a kitchen, a small kitchen. I was very disappointed. Upon entering the second small room. There were about two coffins, one laying down, and one standing up we had to gas close we open about five or six combination locks to get a key to open about several different little chests, it was really sad and a waste of money. The one thing I got angry about was there was a Ouija board that was we were supposed to use to guess some clues and a masonic book and masonic plaques. I said I was definitely not happy with this. You have to go through the entire book to pick out highlighted letters to get another clue. At that point I was ready to go. We bought 100 minutes and she came in and say hey guys how did you like it? I shrug my shoulders and said I'm ready to go this won't stop me from going to escape rooms I would just never ever go to that one again, I only went there because it was right behind where I live. Never go to somewhere because of convenience. All right guys take care. read more

Having done two out of the many rooms that are offered now- the archive which is very challenging, or the seventh room which is like escaping a horror movie- I feel confident in saying that this is the best escape room experience that you'll find. OMG! This place is AWESOME! My team just completed "Be Kind, Rewind" and the puzzles were amazing! Traditional lock puzzles are present, but also some "high tech" ones, too. The game designers were able to incorporate actually video rental store aspects into legitimate puzzles. After a few of the puzzles were completed, we were still in "awe" about the puzzle itself, that we paused to appreciate it. read more

We did escape - barely - but there were a few puzzles that just weren't intuitive. You had to use your hints and get some help to be able to figure out where they were going with it. The 7th Room has got to be the most high tech room with surprises at every turn. I highly recommend this room as it is a room every escape room enthusiast must do! The best part is that we celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday and they can add customization at a nominal feel for the surprise effect for any Birthday guy/gal.
