Quick response to initial call for tow on my property. The truck got stuck and had to call 2 other tow trucks in from their company to get it out of my property and they tore up my yard. After 13 days and 4 attempts to contact via email and phone. No response from them to take care of the damage. I will admit up front, that we parked in a lot where posted signage said if towed, call 867-5309, but, did not state any days/times when this is in place. This is borderline predatory towing, because, we parked there to patronize the brewery next door and it couldn't have been more than 30 minutes after we got there that our car was towed away at 5:38pm. This was on a Saturday, no more than 4 other cars spread out across the 20-25 parking spaces in this small strip mall lot. I'm not even sure if any of the businesses were even open. When I got to get our car @7:10p, there are 2 tow trucks in this lot, snagging cars and hauling them away; and yes, mine was already gone. So I approached the driver and asked if they had towed our vehicle, to which he checks his phone for the recent inventory they'd hauled off and tells me yes. I proceed to ask how much, and he replies with, $180 cash. Then I asked where the lot is and he provides an address. I get a ride from a nice couple that sat at the table next to us in the brewery who offer graciously to take me an drop me. This turns into a nightmare to find because there is no actual building/office for Action Towing, it's the address of a brick building and a parking lot. This seemed quite sketchy, but, I jump in the passenger seat of his truck, pay him the $180 and of we go down the street to a gated lot where he drives me down to my vehicle and that's all she wrote. Virginia Code 46.2-1233.1: Limitation on charges for towing and storage of certain vehicles: A. Unless different limits are established by ordinance of the local governing body pursuant to § 46.2-1233, as to vehicles towed or removed from private property, no charges imposed for the towing, storage, and safekeeping of any passenger car removed, towed, or stored without the consent of its owner shall be in excess of the maximum charges provided for in this section. No hookup and initial towing fee of any passenger car shall exceed $150. Was I ripped off, yes. Is this fair, no. Did I deserve it yes. I plan to reach out to the businesses in this small strip mall to see if they have an agreement with the towing company AND I plan to reach out to the town of Manassas to see if they have different governing laws regarding towing fees. read more

Unfortunately I am the teenager that got screwed over 350$. This review is for anyone that is just starting on the road and doesn't understand how these scammers work. U have to pay an emergency fee if ur blocking traffic it doesn't matter how long they take it's still considered emergency if you block traffic she took 1 and a half hours to arrive. Once we got in the car she asked me what the issue might be she thought it was alternator I had no idea. But apparently because it was only the alternator she could of given me a jump start. Make sure to ask for jump start they WILL NOT OFFER even if they think that might be the issue. During the ride I was punched in the face by her younger son. Fun. Once we got back she basically threw every imaginable fine and said basically gimme half a brick I'll drop ur car. You have to pay for them to drive home btw make sure to ask where they are coming from they won't tell you. Lesson here is ask questions first ig if I just asked question I would have been fine sorry I'm learning. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I went here to pick up my car that was unfairly towed. The guy (he wouldn't admit that he is the owner lol) who was taking care of the payment was extremely rude and unprofessional. He charged ~$220 for a car that was towed less than 5 miles away and only held for about 1.5 hours. We were shocked at the price and as my sister walked away cursing about the pricing, the guy took it personally and started yelling and cursing at us. Really professional right? Had a terrible experience with this towing company. They took 20 hours to tow a car 0.5 miles to an auto body shop. The whole time they kept changing the ETA. I was informed later on that this towing company is known for keeping cars for multiple nights on purpose so they can charge extra. I appreciate Max and Action Towing so much, that I have to share. After hitting a deer exiting on to 66, car was unable to drive. I called my insurance for help, they said that it can take up to an hour for tow truck to respond. Max showed up less than 10 mins, his professionalism made the situation seem easy. We were in a dangerous situation stuck on the side of the road. He said he saw me and stopped to help out. I cant speak good enough about action towing and the company, everyone can speak for themselves but I know it's a pain having your car towed or something happens and you have to . In my case it wasn't my car nor could we stop it from being towed .. I was there for a friend who's car has been towed twice now ...Sunny the owner is a true blessing every time we were there . In moments at a low point for my friend he went above and beyond to help and support the situation. As both my friend and I are young adults who unfortunately don't have the best knowledge and experience in this world and are still learning, we messed up and thought we'd get the car yesterday and unfortunately couldn't , we were a mess to crying and sweating and tired and hungry he offered snacks , water , and even gave us a ride , and kept amazing conversation with us and helped us in this situation. Later the day as we are trying to fix my friend's insurance to trying to get the dealership to answer we weren't able to fix anything..so now looks like we had more storage fees to cover , nope Sunny stopped it and told us it would be okay . Keep in mind we didn't think anything would happen, we took a lyft went to the bank to get our money settled and to call the dealership and that's when things went wrong, I felt terrible about bugging Sunny and his crew because I didn't have an appointment, but he made it clear he didn't mind . The best towing experience. I was so upset because my car had an issue and I wasn't sure if I should drive it. I called Action Towing. Joey showed up and we determined we needed a flat bed tow truck, so he went to get one and came back. My car is low to the ground, and he was so careful not to scrape it. He cared about the car. We had to go to Tyson's to the dealer, and he accidentally took a toll road. We had followed him in another car to fill out the paperwork with the dealer. He called me to apologize about the toll because he didn't know there would be one. He made sure not to lose us on the highway, as we didn't have a clue where we were going. When he got to the dealership, he went in to ask where to leave the car. He also had the tools to remove the license plate from the tow hook because we didn't have tools and it needed to be removed to tow the car. Very happy that a negative situation like our car having an issue turned out not to be so bad. Excellent customer service. read more

my car got stuck 2 days ago from 11 miles away to my home.my passenger real tire kept spinning on a grass field creating a whole.i tried looking for a towing and finally decided to call action towing cos i go through their reviews.i called and got quick respond from the guy i spoke with.he told me he will dispatch someone in 20 mins.the driver was a bit late with some excuses and i told him to use his winch to pull me.it took him 11 mins to finish up and he told me my total is $250 for just the winch wow i never expected that.a car that we did not tow on flatbed nor lifted can cause that much.i gave him my credit card and i just check my acc balance and this people have charge me $262.50.i call the office to know why and i was told they $12.50 for credit card fee which the driver didn't tell me.i recommend that if you need towing,you open yours eyes and think twice about this company cos they are like a daytime robberies. read more

Polite, on time, efficient. Did I mention courteous? I called my roadside assistance company Tuesday evening for towing to my dealer. I was told FinishLine Towing would be there in 90 minutes. I was at home, so it wasn't a big deal. Nearly 2 hours later I called FinishLine. Just answering the phone the man was abrupt. When I asked when they would be there, he grumbled it would be at least another half hour. I called roadside assistance back and told them to cancel the call. Again, I was at home & could take care of it in the morning. Wednesday morning I called roadside assistance again & made it clear I did not want them to send FinishLine. I was told it would be about an hour. Understandable, since it was rush hour in Northern VA. 45 minutes later I got a call from Joe with Action Towing, who said he'd be there in about 15 minutes. He was. He friendly and neatly dressed - not the stereotypical image of a tow truck driver. Joe wasted no time hooking up my vehicle & getting us on our way. I'm usually a nervous passenger, but I was very comfortable with his driving skills. I was also impressed the inside of the truck was "clean" and organized. Other trucks I've seen had papers, etc. piled on the seat & dashboard. Joe delivered my vehicle and myself to the dealer with no problems. I would definitely use Action Towing in the future. read more
