Absolutely the worst management company experience in my life. I'm a 32 y/O Navy veteran. First of all, the property manager is never available. When I moved in the apartment was dirty and needed a tremendous amount of repair. The front desk personnel have a non chalant attitude about everything. They always say let me forward you to the voice mail or let me give them your message. They never call you back. The garage was so small and ridiculously dirty! I saw a black widow spider and roaches in the garage door. The trash bin is right next to the garage which is always smelling horrid and infested with millions of flys. Also when I finally got the repair guy to come out he complained to me about wasting gas. Unbelievable! So much more to complain about. I have lived in ALOT of different places due to my military job. But this is absolutely the worst ever management company and residence. Stay far away! read more

Dawn referred me to Vicky Woo and she gave me great advice regarding my property and patiently answered all my concerns and questions. We had applied for a listing and it turned out that the tenant canceled their move. Action Management was so helpful. Right away they gave us a few more listings. I even got a call from an employee apologizing for the inconvenience. They found us a great 2 story condo with hard wood floors and tile in the bathrooms. A garage that fits two cars. The best part the rooms are big both with walk in closets. The best part we didn't have to get rid of out babies because they accepted dogs! Rosa and Stefany have been so helpful and nice. I have been living at one of Action Management apartments from the time I moved in they have been slow with service. Complaints have been made to them and Earl and Sons the company they work with about fixing lights outside the building, a wanna be dope dealer lives on site and they no it, and parents not watching there bad ass kids. The ladies in the office don't call you back in a timely manner. I AM GIVING YOU FAIR WARNING: DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES RENT FROM ACTION MANAGEMENT. Recently I rented a unit from Action Management (it was a month to month tenancy lasting 6 months). This was a regrettable decision, as I should have seriously considered the other Yelp reviews prior to renting from this less than reputable business. The following reasons should illustrate why no one should EVER rent from these corrupt, incompetent, and negligent property managers: 1. They will attempt to steal your Security Deposit. They made arbitrary deductions from my deposit and I threatened them with small claims court before they returned what was owed to me. If you are in a financial position that leaves you with little choice but to rent from them, Remember to take pictures of the unit before moving in, keep a copy of your inventory checklist, notify them of the mildew on the premises, read and re-read your lease carefully, take pictures of the unit when moving out, and do not let them rip you off with the insulting deposit they will offer you. Fight them. Trust me you'll win. Contact me via yelp-email for information as to how. 2. The condition of the units are substandard. The walls are paper thin (you will literally hear your neighbors fighting, having sex, watching tv, and sleep with a humidifier). The carpets, blinds, locks, doors, and windows are a piece of crap (Make sure they replace them PRIOR to your moving in, again if you have little to no choice). There may or may not be hot water at times, and no, its not because every unit is using it in the morning or evening, it is because their water heaters are shitty and they do not care to repair or replace them. 3. Maintenance is a fucking joke. In the event anything needs to be fixed, they will ignore your requests or give you the runaround because they do not have any official maintenance personnel on staff they have to contract private service workers (plumbers, electricians, etc.) and they do not feel that their tenants are worth the expense. If your faucet is malfunctioning, they dont think it's an emergency; if your bathtub is about to overflow, they'll call you back in 2-3 business days. Seriously. 4. They are UNPROFESSIONAL managers. They say their property managers are always "unavailable" or "in the field" doing God-knows-what because you haven't seen them at your apartment building since that homeless man overdosed in the laundry room. Do not call them to get any information, make any requests, or submit a grievance. You must physically go to their office and complain to them face to face (which is terribly unpleasant) because everyone working there from the lazy eyed office manager to the receptionist who can't speak English has an attitude like you would never believe. The audacity of these people! AGAIN...YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. AND IF YOU DONT BELIEVE ME, SCROLL DOWN AND READ SOME OF THE OTHER REVIEWS. a good friend of mine hired this company for one of her properties and she gets nothing but headaches from this company. There is poor management and they do not treat their clients right. They withhold/make LATE payments that are owed to the clients and make interior/exterior decisions without the actual owner's consent. Even after, they have not apologized or even try to give a discount for the bad service behind my friend's back. They also failed to do annual inspections on a building and failed to communicate and was dishonest on the upkeep of the place and result of this is , the unit became so damaged from the tenant that now they are trying to have her cover $$$ for this preventable damage. They are late res-ponders and do not care about the clients that pay and trust them to manage the properties. If you are a property owner, do not seek their service and if you are a renter; i advise go somewhere else. Like I need help. This company is so rude and disgustingly nasty to their tenants. Lilyanna and her front desk receptionist our incredibly rude. I don't understand this company. First of all I was with a while other property management company name Cyprus then one day action management should up on my front porch and said for now on I need to give them the tent. Mind you they are in Redondo beach, I live in 57th and broadway which I use to go right around the corner to pay rent. Now I have to pay online because I do t have a car to make it to Redondo beach and now they charge me an additional 62 dollars just to pay my rent on line. Mind you my rent is only $60.00 a month. This lady just called me being so rude saying my 60 dollars is late for this month and I keep telling them over and over with Cyprus my rent was due the 15th of the month not the first. They took over 6 months to come and repair the things wrong in my apartment and things are still falling apart. This lady called yelling at me and saying what an i doing at home to make things fall apart. I've been her over 10 years and I have keep this apartment up very very well.......... please i really need a lawyer this can not be right what these people are doing. Please somebody help me. If I can impart any useful advice to someone looking to rent in Long Beach, let it be this: Do not rent at Action Management. I was previously a resident at 729 Elm Avenue, one of their management properties. The place is simply falling apart and is incredibly poorly maintained. On two separate occasions water came out of my ceiling from the floor above. The first time this shorted out my ceiling lights in my kitchen, which, while they fixed the leak, they did not address my non-functional lights. Similarly the heater was broken when I moved in and the gas man refused to turn it on citing a safety hazard. The handyman from Action Management just turned it on despite the note I'd given the staff at Action Management. Months later following a very small earthquake(4.5) in June of 2009, again water came out of my ceiling. A minute crack had formed in the ceiling, and about two gallons of water that had pooled there for god-knows-how-long came pouring out of my ceiling in my bedroom, spilling onto my bedroom TV and ruining it. Nasty smelling, stagnant, disease laden water. After I had unplugged the television and cleaned up the mess, I was unable to reach Action Management because they are not open on weekends. I left them a message and did not receive a call back. About two hours later, a two foot wide square of drywall fell out of my ceiling where the water was, landed on my ruined TV and exploded on impact, getting drywall and splinters all over me, and my bed with it's brand new satin sheets. I had to call someone to spend the night with them and grabbed everything valuable I could carry as I fled my apartment from damage from a 4.5 magnitude quake. The next day I called them, after having taken a day off of work to get them to at least look at the damage. Look they did, after taking six hours to arrive in my badly damaged apartment, but they did not fix it. They told me three separate days in which damage should be fixed, but they did not get around to it. It took them a full week and a half to address the gaping hole in the ceiling. I should add that during this time, I saw mold clinging to the underside of the floorboards of the apartment above me, through that hole. I should also mention that the apartment was uninhabitable this entire time, due to the smell that had overtaken the apartment once a tiny 4.5 earthquake caused the abcess of disease laden water to burst. Following this episode I hurriedly packed, wearing a protective respirator and vacated the premises before the first of the next month. I had not received their approval to break the lease but needless to say I had ample reason to do so. The incident was a blessing in disguise because it allowed me to leave that hellhole and to never again do business with Action Management, which is what I advise each and every potential renter in Long Beach not to do. read more

I been living in a unit for 9 months that is classified as a Roach motel that I am paying rent to live in it. After countless times of concerning issues regarding this to the property management I've been shuffled to manager to manager. My concerns have left on death ears and I get better response by talking to the wall. I cannot wait until December what I'm going to move and I will have roaches walking across my bed my food my counters and in my clothes. I hate this management company. My association just recently picked them up as our new management company. They are horrible. I can never get a hold of the contact person and I'm having an issue right now that has been going on for over a month now. All I need is one piece of paper and it's taking me over a month to get it. STILL WAITING. Do not hire this company. They do not get back to you and to top it off my portal is not letting me make mortgage payments online for some reason. They are slow to respond to repair requests. Their website has an email address for repair orders, that is non-operational. I have faxed orders in, and they go unnoticed. From 2 encounters with service folks, they screw them too. I had a prolonged problem with my a/c last summer. And then today they decided to finish the re-keying the building, with out telling me. If I wasn't running late for work, I would have come home to a locked door that my key would not fit! Don't even get me started on the elevator that is intermittent. Overall, they are happy to collect your rent, but that's about it. If you can, avoid renting from them!!! read more

ZERO STARS! On 12/3/2012 my partner and I moved into a 1 bedroom apartment at 2420 E 2nd St. Unit B in Long Beach CA. Upon signing my lease with Vicki Wu, I knew something was suspicious as I attempted to turn my gas on with the city and interestingly enough has absolutely NO RECORD of my unit in the city database. After hours of arguing with the city, they gave me new gas service. GREAT, problem solved....Nope! Beginning in April of 2014-February 2016 when we FINALLY were able to afford to move, we had ongoing issues with a rodent infestation, no insulation in our wooden roof which led to unspeakable amounts of water damage, and toxic black mold from years of exposure to more water, moth infestation, 1 month with no working heater( they blamed it on the owner), toxic black mold throughout the floors and walls of the unit, termites and damage that led to our main staircase rotting almost to the point of collapse! In August of 2015 I called Vicki Wu and told her that my neighbor ( a homeowner) pointed out that my unit was NOT LEGALLY ZONED by the city....she brushed it off and that was the last I heard about that until 2 weeks after I moved....I called the county health dept and the dept of housing to report the conditions in which I was living! I sent hundreds of photos....I got a call back from the city inspector letting me know that I was indeed correct, not only was our apartment uninhabitable, BUT It WASN'T LEGALLY ZONED and was not worthy of passing an inspection.... yet ACTION took $42,000 of my money after 3+years of living on the premises! DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!! I am still dealing with the medical repercussions of living in that filth!!! And if it wasn't bad enough.....finally they cancelled their contract with that bldg owner...hmmm.... convenient for them! STAY AWAY!!! read more

So far I have had no choice in the master of this place managing the apartment building I live in. It was owned by an owner who sold it. Now I call this place for simple questions and no responses. I have to leave voice mails. Our building allows pets but they don't send anyone over to spray down the stairs or entry ways. On top of no property maintemance, thwy quickly sent out a letter saying we had to take out our own trash bins. If i wanted to live in a house to maintain my own land i would of. Also when our building got bought no one took note of anything wrong with our apartment that we just moved into. My closet doors don't function properly. Our sliding glass door gets stuck. The blinds in the dining room, living room and my bedroom are old and broken. Our dishwasher leaks. No one returns any messages I leave. It took me three weeks to get a response and still no action. Now I am reading these reviews and it scares me to know that I moved into this mess and now I have to continue living like this? read more

The previous two reviewers hit it right on the head. This is the worst management company I have ever dealt with. When we moved in the "painters" left brush marks on the bathtub and the light fixtures. No issue is ever resolved with one call. I have always had to make several calls to get maintenance to come out. Once they finally send out maintenance they tend to show up at least an hour late then do poor work and leave a mess. I Usually never write reviews, but I felt like I had to. I rented an apartment with this company and just recently left that apartment. I would have been leaving a different review if I had not heard what they started saying when I left. I always paid my rent on time and never complained when they would come and fix minor things very cheaply. First off the owner of the building is a piece of shit, who feels like she can come and be rude and curse at you whenever she feels like it. action management just looks the other way and knows that she is a disgusting person but doesn't care, I guess for the sake of not losing those apartments. So be prepared to be treated like shit by the owner if you do rent out the 635 Coronado apartments. Second they raised the rent almost $300.00 which I thought was crazy, the apartment along with the others have mice and roaches galore so one more motive to leave. Third, most of the things I would ask to fix, they would if they were minor (mickey mouse fix) but if they were bigger they get upset, like a garage door spring that gave out because it was so old, they stated that it was fine when I moved in. Or the windows that don't work because they are so old they move back and forth with the wind and do not lock, they ignored this completely. Lastly what made me write the review are the unprofessional comments that were made by the staff and handyman (Owners pet George who thinks he will inherit the apartments). I have 2 children under the age of 4 and obviously had some writings on the walls and left behind all the mice droppings so they can see what an apartment they are renting being that they don't care when you tell them. Well the staff (ROSA) decided to gossip to all the neighbors about my apartment and how I was a dirty person. I did not receive anything from my deposit even though when I moved in the carpet was old and stained and the paint job was shitty, they can shove it. I drove from San Diego to this place yesterday. I called before I left and the lady on the phone told me they would be open until 5 p.m. and I could come by and look at one of their apartments. The drive from San Diego to Long Beach usually takes me 1 hour and 15 minutes. Yesterday the traffic was really bad and it took me 2 hours and 45 minutes. At 4:10 p.m. I arrived at Action Management. I walked into the little office and told the lady behind the desk that I had called earlier and was interested in looking at an apartment. In a rude tone she told me "Oh it's too late for that! We stop giving out the keys for apartments at 4". I explained to her that I just drove 2 hours and 45 minutes just to get there and look at this apartment. She replied "Well that's too bad, you're just going to have to come back tomorrow". I currently live in San Diego so this was obviously not an option unless I wanted to make the drive again. After having no luck asking the woman if I could just check out the apartment really quick, I had had enough and decided to leave. As others had stated, this business is rude and very very disrespectful. The employees do not know anything about customer service. I would NEVER rent an apartment from them just based on this lack of compassion for another person. Stay away from this place!!! They are no good. read more

My experience with action management was horrible.. and it was when they were under new ownership. When I moved in there were roaches .. there were obvious signs of roaches and one would think that the management company would have done something about that before a new tenet rented. The place was filthy but cheap.. Also one of the employees at action management lied to me about my deposit, and when I confronted them and spoke to their supervisor they were extremely rude and lied to my face. at move-in: the tub faucet was (still is) leaky the garbage disposal didn't work the ceiling fan, lights included, didn't (still doesn't) work the dining area and kitchen lights were out the awning was falling off of one corner which didn't allow for the door to open completely without scratching the awning you would think they would have the apartment ready at this time, but no. it was a disappointment. we soon found out there is a HORRIBLE cockroach infestation! as we eat dinner, the roaches would move into the food i had JUST cooked! it's so gross. forget about parking. 4 spaces for 5 apartments, 3 people moved out after us and we still don't have a garage? street parking is terrible. can't get our mail. called for a week now and it has not been fixed. it looked like our dream apartment when we first moved in, but quickly found out it's so bad. I've rented a house thru Action for 10 years, and never have I seen an organization so inept, so incompetent, so ignorant - they should be in the Obama administration. A four foot section of dry wall fell from the kitchen ceiling - took 3 years to get it fixed - no lie! Recently they remodeled the bathroom in this house - I don't know where they get their repair people from, but their work is beyond shoddy. Work was scheduled, half the time I wasn't notified, and when work is requested, just give it up. I requested a handicap rail to be mounted on the shower wall because of my crippling nerve disease...no response. I guess I have to fall and split my head open before anything will be done. I found some of the office staff to be somewhat abrupt, possibly because they're overwhelmed with the work load, of which I'm sure at a large part of the work is remedial repairs stemming from the home repair hacks that Action hires....Look elsewhere, folks.....I had to post a 1 star rating, but they don't even deserve THAT. read more

I went to an open house so when I went to the office they gave me a different price for rent.I told them hey I saw the add for the open house for 300.00 less They said well that was the price for the open house.I told them yeah I went to the open house that's how I saw the property. The price went up in 3 days but online they had the lower price.They keeped our application for 2 weeks keeped on telling us oh Vicky is not in the office u need to wait.Then they would ask for new paperwork evrey day.Their was 3 different women we talked to they all never know nothing .They are always telling you ill call u back and dont call back until 2-3 days and then they said oh you never called us.I don't understand y they are so unprofessional if that's what customer service is about .This company SUCKS A lOT I really love the place I live in but the company Suck they never know nothing and they are never any help at all.It seems like they are new and they been working with the company over 1 year .I Will never recommended this company Fist Time giving a review.I never rate no one but they SUCK ......
