I don't usually do reviews of anything but restaurants or food but the service I received from…read moreExteriors West left me wanting to tell the world so here it goes. If you could describe Exteriors West with one word it would be "Outstanding" with a capital O. Dan, who is owner and installer, has got the installation down to a science. Dan arrived at my home around 8am to install a 16' X 20' aluminum patio cover which he flawlessly and meticulously installed by himself and completed around 6:00pm, Including cleanup. He has been doing this work for 25 years now and it shows! Do you remember the days of great customer service and honesty of business owners in the 50's? Well there are a few still out there and Dan is one of them. Maybe that is why the Better Business Bureau has given Exteriors West an A+. He completed the patio cover then proceeded to look over the cover with a fine tooth comb, wiping down the cover removing any finger prints or dirt he saw then he continued to look it over and painting any scratch or blemish with the factory touch up paint. Just this alone took about 45 minutes to an hour this is how meticulous Dan is and what kind of commitment he has to make everything perfect. When Dan started the job he put down sheets of cardboard and covered my deck with it to protect it. And at the end of the job he swept up his work debris and picked up the cardboard. He then blew off my deck with a leaf blower and picked up any stray garbage. My deck was left cleaner than when he got there. Then fit and finish of my cover is outstanding! From the planning, selection of materials and construction, Dan has been very patient and full of information and suggestions. If you need a patio cover, carport, RV cover, railings, window awnings, whether it be residential, commercial or industrial, Exteriors West is the company you want to go with. He said he does jobs all around Washington and told me he had just returned from a commercial job in Oregon. Sorry if this sound like a commercial but when I find a company that does an outstanding job all the way around, I have to tell someone. And today, you're that someone.

We couldn't be more thrilled with the results!…read more The first contractor we contacted actually referred us to Timberline due to the size and complexity of the job. I had some rough drawings I had made using free 3D drawing software (look at the photos to compare the concept drawings to the final result). I showed them my ideas in December, we discussed materials, components, and pricing throughout January, and signed a contract in late January. They prepared architectural drawings in February and the engineering in March. By April we were in Permitting with the city and broke ground in late May. They knew we were planning a big party for Mid August so they worked feverishly to get it all done in time. Tony was our project manager and was great with communication. Lucas was our construction lead and Matt his assistant, and they both were great to have on the job, and they kept us updated daily with what they were working on and what was coming next. I was also impressed with their choice of contractors for the gas, electric, masonry, and painting, all did high quality work and were very professional, courteous, and respectful of our home and our neighbors. Throughout the project Tony (Project Manager) had great ideas on how we could improve things, and they were always very responsive to our wishes, working very hard to make sure everything was exactly as we wanted. For as much of an ordeal as it can be to have people working at your house for four months, they made it as painless and as stress free as possible. There we no major issues or concerns, and even the minor stuff was typically cleared up in one email or phone call. I can't imagine having a better experience. And the final result is absolutely amazing! We are on the patio every day and throughout the weekends, watching football, cooking, and enjoying hosting friends and family. It's made such a huge impact on our quality of life. I only wish we had done this sooner. The scope of the work was a 16x30 covered patio, plus pavers along the front and side, and a separate paver and fire pit area. The patio has 4 skylights, a ceiling fan, 12 recessed can lights, four 4Kw heaters, a 36-inch gas fireplace, 36-inch Hestan grill and dual side burners, Bose speakers, and a 70-inch Skyvue outdoor TV. The counter tops are granite, and the kitchen, built-in seating, and fireplace are covered in natural stone. The seating is topped with natural blue stone and has built-in storage areas underneath. The flooring is Mbrico porcelain tile and it is amazing! We've already had things like grease and even a bit of paint spill on to it, but everything just wipes up effortlessly with a little shot of Formula 409 and a paper towel. It's expensive, but if you want zero maintenance flooring that will last a lifetime, this is the stuff to get. I can't speak highly enough of Timberline patio covers and their entire team. If you are looking for top quality work, you won't be disappointed.

However, a mishap costing us an extra $5K and communication with Luis left me feeling uncomfortable. I would not recommend him to others. I asked for 3 sides of our large backyard fence to be torn down and reconstructed. I said I wanted it to wrap around from our previous newer fenced section to our home. I asked for a walk-in gate. This was all in the LMS quote/bid. I asked Luis if we should do a walk-through before work began, and he said no, that wouldn't be necessary. This will be important later... By end of day 2, I realized they were leaving out a large portion on 2 of the sides. NO gate planned. I double-checked with Luis and he said other than the gate, which I guess was forgotten, that the 2 sections weren't apart of the bid. WHY would someone want to leave two 8-foot panels of old, withered, falling down fence between sections of new 7-foot fence? WHY would someone not complete a fence to the home, and leave a huge gap? That doesn't make sense. But, he told me it would cost an extra $5K. Unfortunately, I felt stuck since I wanted this job done, and they had already begun construction. I agreed, and now my project was costing us 1/3 more. On the 4th day, Luis called me while I was at work. He said the fence & gate were completed, and 2 of his guys would be waiting in my driveway for the FULL payment. I don't get cell service at the school I teach at, and as I'm driving home, I find out I'm responsible for racing to the bank within 20 minutes and picking up my kids from school. Impossible. Not only this, I find it unprofessional that there was no *walk-through* offered after the work was completed. He didn't want to give my husband and I a chance to look it over first? Make sure the craftsmanship was okay? I just don't agree with paying $15K for without this step. The next day, he was working another job far away so he couldn't collect from me. I offered to pay him the following day. Immediately Luis' texts became short, rude and made me uncomfortable. He claimed he couldn't pay "his guys" because of me. I even offered to pay him on the weekend, but he said he was out of town. He said, quote, "You have my money, but it is what it is." I'm sorry, the way you conduct your business has absolutely nothing to do with one client... the work literally JUST GOT DONE!! Banks are only open certain hours, and I have a full time job myself. He was paid the exact week that the work was completed, but after several tense text conversations. He would not text for 2 days and then demand to come by the next morning. "I will come by in the morning." No friendly greeting or even a question if that's ok with me. What?? One of his guys broke one of our in-ground irrigation sprinkler pipes, and when I told him my husband noticed this, I got no response until days later. I asked again, and he said it was all fixed. If I hadn't have said anything.. would he have told me?? For the additional $5K, we agreed to pay the following month. Luis sent me multiple Venmo requests. I tried several times to pay him via Venmo, but Venmo flagged it as "unsafe" and would not let it go through. Somehow, again, this was my fault, and I had to receive several curt texts. I asked him where I could send a check, and his response was "The address is on the bid". Just not .. kind. I always tried to be friendly and open. After our check was sent and cashed, we got no receipt and no "thank you for your business" email or text. Check sent, nothing. Lastly, he avoided questions about their warranty. On their website it says 2 years; on the contract, it states that the warranty goes by the materials - which I have no idea about. I asked several times, no answer. To this day, I have no idea if they'll fix something within a year or even 6 months. All in all, I'm left feeling unsatisfied about our business exchange. While the work seems quality, Luis' demeanor and the fact that we had to pay such a large extra cost for something I asked for in the bidding process leaves much to be desired. I hope this review will help someone.

They were quick to respond to my voicemail and set up a time to meet with me right away. The sales guy that showed up was friendly and knowledgeable. We came up with a plan to add 200 sq ft to my deck. They gave me a price on the spot and it seemed like a lot for what I was asking for. But I was having trouble finding anyone to take on the project so I agreed to it. Man I am glad that I did. The project manager contacted me and seemed to really know his stuff. I was given a schedule and was walked through the permit process. The workers that showed up to do the work were courteous and kept the yard clean. They even moved their work trucks when my cranky old neighbor complained about them parking in front of her house. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly the work was completed and the building inspector was happy with their work as well. They were able to reuse some of the old decking from the deck that they pulled off and saved me some money. The way that they mixed the old with the new was artistic. It is hard to tell where the old deck stops and the new one begins. I would recommend them to anyone I know that needed work done on their house.

My daughter was six months old when we signed the contract. She is now a walking, talking toddler. Time flies when you are waiting on Construction Kings. Over the course of the last 11 months, we have experienced the full range of emotions. We were elated by the wonderful communication and personal touch that we received in May, June, and July 2025. Right up until the moment work was set to begin. August 4th, someone from Construction Kings came out to re-take window measurements. September 3rd we were told those windows were finally ordered. After weeks of no contact/updates, we tried to pursue steps to be refunding in October. Owner Zak Nash reached out via phone October 14th. He was apologetic, full of reasons why work hadn't started, and he promised up one side and down the other work would begin no later than November 5th and be completed within 10 days. Two days of work transpired, the crew then ghosted for a week only to show up in order to pick up tools to take to another work site. Promises were made again and again and again. More apologies. Still no work. Old foremen, new foremen, came and went. We were told explicitly that no windows had ever been ordered but the WOULD be ordered, not to worry. Then the phones stopped working, and the company started hemorrhaging staff. It turns out that while customers were paying for work that was not being done, staff was doing work but not being paid. I attempted to find amicable resolution with the owner through various avenues, but he was unwilling to discuss the matter through writing or over the phone on a recorded line. After the stories of obfuscation and intentional lying that were passed onto me by not one, not two, not three, but FOUR separate former employees, I was unwilling to put myself into a situation where his word was all that I had to go by. I am a new mom who still has no functional windows to combat the increasing heat of Seattle summers, and no deck or backyard area to try and cool down. My yard is still littered with discarded wood, shards of metal, trash, and general refuse left behind by the Construction Kings crew. I have foolishly given all the money I had saved for my home improvement project to Construction Kings and Zak Nash. I have been cheated, lied to, and left holding the bag like so many others. Read the complaints on the Better Business Bureau website. Check with the Washington Attorney General's Office to see just how many folks have filed complaints. Simply google Zak Nash and Construction Kings to see other horror stories from customer and subcontractors left in the lurch. Do not make the mistake that I made. Take your money and run far, far away. TL; DR $34,277.73 cash paid on our $45,703.64 project which has been unfinished and completely abandoned for months Over 50 texts/phone calls/messages unanswered Days since work was last performed: 258 and counting BBB rating: F
