Easily the worst customer service experience I have ever encountered. I brought my computer in to remove a virus, and was told they needed to run some diagnostics, but the virus I described is common (as in "we see two or three of these per day) and can be easily removed. I was also told someone would contact me in 2 or 3 days. Three days later, in the first call received after delivery, I was told "your hard drive is failing, but we likely can still remove the virus." Two days later, I was told "we can't complete the diagnostic or remove the virus, because you need a new hard drive, which we can install for another $90, plus the cost of the hard drive, and for an additional fee, we'll transfer the data. I declined the offer after I was told "you likely can use the computer for maybe a month or so, but you'll soon have to replace it", because I knew I had a better alternative. I picked up my computer the next day. When I got there, I initially was told I would have to pay the full fee for the diagnostic, even though they hadn't completed it. Obviously, I objected, and they decided to discount the cost. I begrudgingly paid for the hardware diagnostic and "various other tests that were in progress." Before paying, however, I again asked whether I would be able to access and transfer files, even if for a limited time. "Yeah sure, for a little while" was the response. To my dismay, however, when I returned home to fire up the computer, I couldn't even login. Because I was told I likely would still be able to use the computer for a little while, I called the Store to explain the issue. "It says here the tech told you this would happen" was the response. When I explained that was not entirely accurate, that I was given an estimate of at least a month of continued use, the service rep said "it doesn't say he told you that on the work order." I'm sorry, is it possible he may have made statements not recorded on the work order? So, to recap, Computer in much worse condition than when delivered for repairs, and I'm out money. Sweet deal for t hem. Interestingly, upon searching reviews on Yelp, it seems as though Gary R. had a somewhat similar experience -- though I don't know whether his computer was actually returned in worse condition than when delivered. In light of the forgoing, I recommend you stay away from this place unless you like gambling, and enjoy stress, high blood pressure, and the overall feeling that you've been swindled. I imagine there are much better computer service centers in the area. read more

I recently had 2 computers serviced there. I actually brought one in back in November and they diagnosed it as a bad motherboard. I had to wait until recently to bring it back to afford the repair, but I did so. They did a good job, obviously I'm back up and running on both. On my last pick up they had to ring me up on the store side so I got to see that for the first time. It reminded me of the type of store I would have loved as a kid. They have a lot of laptops and pc's/apples there for re purchase and prices were fair. The repair prices were fair as well, a small nominal charge to install a new motherboard. I helped my sister, who lives out of state, get set up with a tower and monitor. Action PC was recommended to me and they did not disappoint. The staff is knowledgeable, laid back, and very professional. Not only did they help me find the right equipment within her budget, they loaded the software and managed the shipping for us. I don't even know where to start. I called this store this morning, to verify that they bought used computers. They asked me what kind of processor mine had (Core i7) and what I was looking to get for it. I hauled my full PC, cords, accessories, etc, and they told me they would give me $50 for the PC and $20 for the 22" monitor. I paid over $1300. The monitors they sell are anywhere from $100-$150 and I didn't see a Dell for any less than $500. I had a technician come to my house later in the day and told me not to sell it for less than $450. I'm sure this store would have sold it for at least that much if not more. Needless to say, there was no one in the store when I was there. Now I know why. Don't waste your money here. read more

I have been going to Action Computers for a long time and at various times over the years have bought a laptop, desktop, ergonomic keyboard, mouse and monitor. In every case, the products have been a great value for the money. The staff is always friendly and helpful but mainly they don't talk down to me or use a lot of tech jargon that sounds alien to my 58-year-old ears. Today I went in with a small thing - I broke a key off the keyboard and tried to fix it myself with the usual disastrous result. Nick in service was able to fix it as good as new for no charge, which was cool. Then I went into the sales part of the store and asked about getting something so I could connect my laptop to the internet using a router located in another room in my apartment. Cornelia was very helpful and suggested a wireless USB plug-in, which goes there for about $10. I've seen similar items in regular computer stores starting at around $40, so that in itself was a great bargain. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the thing to work at my place, so I returned it later in the afternoon and got 50 feet of Ethernet cord - the old 20th Century analog solution. I was pleasantly surprised that she went the extra mile for me to swap the two items at no additional cost - even though the cord cost several dollars more - and sent me on my way. Needless to say, this is just the latest in a long series of really positive experiences with the folks there. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for cost-effective solutions to any computer-related need. I wouldn't think of going anywhere else. read more

I took a Dell laptop that was running normally into Action Computers because I could not get the wireless drivers to install properly. The technician tried installing the wireless drivers but never was able to get the wireless to work. So far so good.. The reason the technician gave for the wireless not working was a bad motherboard. I decided not to pursue a new motherboard on an older laptop. When I got the laptop home and tried to use it, it wouldn't start. After multiple attempts I restored the laptop to the point right before I took it to Action Computers. The laptop worked fine. So Action Computers misdiagnosed my laptop (motherboard) and left it in an unusable state (had to do a system restore). The only problem the computer had was a bad wireless card. These guys were life savers! Though they were not sure they could repair my usb drive (that contained several important files), they were willing to take a look at it. They were understanding of the urgency of my situation, and were able to get back to me by the next business day. Miraculously, they were able to recover all of my data! had a blue screen on my computer and brought it in to Action computers to get it fixed. They scanned it..and fixed a number of errors on it...when I got it home..I noticed that some of my audio didn't work..like for YouTube , etc... I brought it back 3 more times..and each time they said they had fixed it..which I believe had happened..but when I got it home..it didn't work. I sent and email..and Daniel, one of the owners contacted me and offered to try and work on it remotely.. So..we set up and time and he worked on it remotely...he found the problem..and insidious spyware that had denied permissions to my audio and had it fixed in 20 min...!!! Daniel , you are my hero and EVERYONE at Action computers was so nice and helpful and really cared. I appreciate their continued commttment to fixing the problem when I was about to give up!!!! After calling several data recovery companies who wanted anywhere from $1,200 to $2,000 to "attempt" retrieving data from our failed external drive, I took our bad drive to Action Computers. They recovered most of our files (nearly 200 GB), including several years of irreplaceable family photos, for less than $300, which included the cost of a new 500 GB passport drive. Not only that, but they finished the job the day after I dropped off the bad drive. Fast, affordable, and good work! I was referred here by a friend of mine who got a very good deal on a used laptop. Needing one myself (primarily for Photoshop and Creative Cloud needs) and being on a budget, I decided to give them a visit. I was greeted by Denis who was extremely helpful, and he did a very thorough job of assisting me. I never got the pushy salesman vibe from him or any of the other employees, and despite not having a ton of computer knowledge Denis only sold me what I need and did not tack on needless accessories. The computer I got has all of the features I want and more! The best part about it is that I got the computer plus a significant speed upgrade, carrying case and antivirus software (already installed) all for less then $700! Plus, they installed my hardware for free and gave me a 10% off cupon in addition to the 40 day no questions asked trade in deal (because I bought it ten days before Christmas, otherwise it would normally be a 30 day trade in deal), and a six month free warranty! If I went to Best Buy, I would have paid well over $1000 for what I got for half as knowledgeable and customer oriented experience (and I do speak from prior experience). The repair guys next door are very friendly too and Charles frequently addressed me as "sir". I am not one for formalities, but it was still very thoughtful customer service. You can even go meet the owner and his dog who hang out in the back of the store. Everyone there was super nice and seem to really enjoy their jobs. My point is this; if you have computer needs, don't bother with large electronic chains. These guys are far more knowledgeable, and unless they are insanely busy (and I assume even then you could find someone to help you soon, as there were more employees in the back room), you will very likely be tended to right away. No waiting in line for help at this store, and they sell you exactly what you need with no gimmicks. Even through Action Computers appears to be a small store, they have a ton of computers and hardware to choose from (mostly PC, but they have some Apple computers as well). They will only sell you quality products as they thoroughly test each computer they import, and they will never sell you junk. If I have any additional computer needs, I will come back to this store for sure. Keep up the wonderful service! read more

I must say, the staff and the management are incredible in this store. They function from place of integrity, knowledge and customer service is excellent. Henry was the person that helped in purchase of my computer. When I had a problem with the battery, Mike exchanged it with a new one that he made sure that worked well. Nike of course helped to install it and all that took only 5 minutes. Keep in mind this situation came after my 30 days warranty. But regardless, they were great people to take care of my problem and had a smile on their face. When my computer stopped working I called then stopped by Action. They told me I needed a new fan, didn't have the correct one in stock but sold me a replacement. When I got home and started the computer, it lasted for about 30 mins then crashed again. An error said something about the fan running too slow. I took it back and they replaced it with another fan. It has worked ok now. I wasted a lot of time, but it seems to work. read more

Buyer Beware - I will never again buy anything from Action Computer or its affiliates. Needed a new DVD burner, went in bought one, hooked it up and guess what what? IT DOES NOT FUNCTION. Called the guys at Action Computer, I was told a TECH guy would call me right back. Well I waited all day for a call back. The next day I drive 5 miles back to Action Computer, they gave me another on , no refund allowed, so I drive back spend more time on a simple issue and guess what the DVD burner chokes and does not write. I have worked with Dean both times to find me a good computer and he has been very knowledgeable and friendly and I know if I have any problems with my computer that he will help me out. They sold me a computer and said it would run games such as Grand Theft Auto 5, and extreme games just like it. It worked for about a month and stopped, now its out of disk space and doesn't even go on the internet. A "great computer" turned into a piece of crap. So, They basically LIED!!! My husband has also rated this place. I just wanted to update. We dropped our computer off and they missed a couple of deadlines of when they claimed they would have it done. Finally when they did our diagnosis they said the computer was fine and blamed it on an external drive. After getting it home it continued to shut down and not work so my husband, who has some knowledge, took it apart and tested the memory. Turns out we had a few memory slots that went bad. Not sure what the $49.95 was spent on since their diagnosis should have come up with that. Our computer is now working and we got robbed of $49.95. Please don't believe the good reviews or the BBB. We found out we should have just fiddled with it on our own in the first place. I can't believe they have such good reviews. I guess they're paying their employees to rate it to help make up the difference for the bad reviews. Please be warned!!! read more

Do NOT, under any circumstances trust these people! I purchased a very expensive custom system from them & had nothing but problems! At one point, when I was advised to bring the tower back for service, when I arrived and was explaining the issue to the Asst Manger, he actually told me I was bothering him! I had had this expensive POS for less than a month at that point, but they already had my money - so I was just a bother then! Fast forward, I've had this system less than 2 years and the CHEAP power source died, taking with it the processor! I work from home and depend on a reliable system - of course I explained all this when I purchased the system. Now I am looking at another costly repair. I have gone to a shop that has excellent reviews, located in Littleton. Do what you wish, but these folks only care about the initial sale, and after that you will be nothing more than a big bother!
