Just to make a point you get what you pay for. This company will allow you to rent using a debit card but you must buy their insurance package. Though we paid our deposit with a credit card and our cost with a debit car. We could not use our own insurance and where charged $21.94 a day for insurance we did not need. We rented on the 3rd of the month and used the vehicle for 17 days, charges where not applied to our bank account until two days after the automobile was returned ....two days. Do not rent here....... First of all, the agent told me their insurance was better and the others and didn't cover the other car in an accident. I didn't know better, all crap. I have coverage, which I told her. But, my fault I listened to her. The car smelled of deodorizer which was sickening after a while. Then, when I go out Long Island, the tires were bald. I mean bald! I have pics. Lastly, a month later I see a charge for ez-pass for $54. I used the pass one day. Yet, they charge you $6 per day that you rent. This is hands down the worst experience I've ever had renting a car. I booked it through Expedia, lured in by a $200 price for a week long car rental in NYC. When we arrived at the rental counter the salesperson told us that the $200 price didn't include their additional MANDATORY car insurance for another $21 a day (even though we had our own), or the ridiculous $200 deposit. What we thought would be a budget price quickly jumped to more than most reputable rental companies.... over $600 for the week. In addition, the salesperson was really rude and actually rolled her eyes and laughed when we tried to use our credit card's coverage instead of their insurance. All this was bad enough but it was only the beginning. The car we were given was not even in legal driving condition. The left indicator light was out, the rear tires were bald, the windshield wiper was bent, there was no washer fluid, and we keep having to refill the tires with air. When I called the company headquarters they were unsympathetic and only offered that we could drive the car back in to exchange it which is well over an hour's drive each way. If you're looking to save a buck you won't do it here. Pay a lot more for a wreck of a car, lousy customer service, and hidden fees. Long story short, DO NOT RENT HERE. read more

Horrible Horrible experience. Waiting for over an HOUR in the freezing cold for a shuttle to come to Laguardia airport. The lady said "green & white Holiday Inn van", turns out it was a BLACK van with a 8.5 x 11 paper that said "Holiday Inn". It's located in the back of a Holiday Inn.. Also they don't tell you that the gas will cost $7.95 a gallon if you don't return it full tank. THey also charge you $250 as a deposit which gets charged to your card in addition to the fee. I got a deal on priceline for $171, ended up paying $252 (over $81 in gas) for a tiny compact car. PLUS, the car had HUGE damage on the side...I'm assuming the car was in an accident earlier and the entire side of the car was smashed in. Even if Hertz, Budget or any other reputable car rental company charges a bit more, just pay the extra and go with them. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

Told us the driver for the shuttle to the airport would come in and let us know every 20 minutes. He didn't. Worst experience ever!! I rented a mini van for 411$ for 3 days and got out with a 750$ bill. Mandatory insurance and whatever, the salesperson wasn't rude but close enough. She dismissed our claims that credit cards would insure us for the trip and wouldn't explain too much why we needed the extra insurance, so expensive for only three days!!! On top of that, the car was very old and in mediocre conditions, with dents and scratches all over. The brakes were squeeking everytime, and not very efficiently at that, the shock absorbers weren't absorbing anything... I highly recommend you don't use this company!! read more

One word sums of the experience: CRAP. Go with a more reputable company bc the extra $ will be worth avoiding the headache. The vehicle I was given had the low oil light go on a day after I took off it needed 1.5 quarts of oil and on top of that the tire pressure sensor went off multiple times despite refilling the tires. When I first filled up the tires one tire had 7psi!!!! Talk about a major safety issue! I called to get a replacement vehicle and told they weren't open so they would call me back. Never got a call back. In the end I got refunded the $ I spent to replace the oil myself. Then they want to charge XYZ fees even though you're booking the car online for a certain amount. They have a poor lack of customer service. This was by far the worst rental company we've ever been through. The car they gave us had nearly 100,000 miles and got up charged with all these little fees and what not. On top of that, the car was not clean on the inside, the steering wheel shuddered when ever we hit the brakes, and the trunk latch was broken. Customer service is atrocious and not worth it. Would give less than one star if it was possible. Pickup experience was fine and the car was fine. Return experience was absurdly bad. Got there and there was nowhere to park. Went inside to find out where to park and no one was at the desk. Caught the worker on her way out the door--she was closing up shop at 5:30 even though our rental wasn't due until 11:30. She was rude, obnoxious, and aggressive. She accused us of lying about the time the car rental was due. She tried to force me to parallel park the car on a busy road (where it can get banged into or broken into and then you'll charge me out the wazoo? No thanks). When I refused and asked if I could double park or park in a handicap spot in the lot, she told me she would fine me. Twenty minutes later after she fought with my husband, she got the hotel manager to OK us parking in the handicap spot. This is one of the worst companies my wife and I have ever encountered! Even though we had never heard of them, we decided to give them a shot because they appeared on Expedia so we figured they must be a reputable brand. What a mistake! This company preys on people through a combination of lies, bait and switch tactics and deceptive business practices. They were rude and unprofessional throughout all of our interactions with them, and they basically lie at every turn in order to con people into paying more than they should pay. Unfortunately, getting a beat-up car with really low pressure in one of the tires was the least of our problems. Among other things, they made up ridiculous policies that aren't clearly communicated in order to coerce you into purchasing their "optional" insurance coverage under duress, they lied about the original fuel level and mileage on the vehicle they gave us, they asked us to electronically sign things that refer to external documentation that they won't show you, they won't let you speak with a manager unless it's convenient for them and they didn't tell us they would be closed when we returned the car leaving us potentially vulnerable to even more frivolous charges, which is why we took photos and videos of everything. Ultimately, this company doesn't have an ounce of integrity in them and I would recommend using literally any other rental option that you have available to you. read more

If I could give negative STARS I would! I had to fly from Atlanta to NY as a family member was dying of cancer. I made the reservation on Expedia for 3 days at a rate of 33.28 per day while in an emotional fog. I flew into LaGuardia on Tuesday, April 5th, 2016, at 6:00 pm, called for the pickup - and they kept going to the wrong terminal. Their rep even told me on the phone that I was "STUPID" - she was insistent that American never comes into terminal C - even though I told them that was where I was. The driver finally found me at the terminal I had told them I was in, after I stood in freezing weather for an hour. When I finally got to the off-site hotel to get the car they rushed through everything as it was 7:00pm and they wanted to close and leave. I never had a chance to even look at the paperwork. I wound up with a nice car - Prius - but no idea how anything worked. My family member died Thursday, April 7th at 3 am. I had just gone back to sleep when the nasty rep called me at 8:00 am to tell me I had to bring the car back to the hotel by 10:30. I was 65 miles away out on LI, with no way of getting back to LI from hotel to bring the car back. I explained the situation and told her I needed the car for another day - I truly thought I had rented it for 3 days - and she insisted SHE needed the car back. After a lot of angry retorts from her, she shouted "Keep the car", and hung up on me. My husband drove up from Atlanta and met me at the hotel near Kennedy - I was not going anywhere near the nasty rep at LaGuardia - on Friday, April 8th at 1:30 pm. I filled the car up and returned the car, received my bill - and had sticker shock. Instead of being charged the 33.28 daily rate for the three days as per my confirmation from Expedia, I was charged 33.28 for two days, then 66.56 for the "extra" day - despite the fact that my Expedia confirmation states Extra Day would be charged at 33.28. My Expedia confirmation states Taxes and fees for two days would be 25.47. I was instead charged 125.13 in fees and taxes - something called "LDW" at 9/day for 27, and Facility concession Fee of 14.61, Energy Recovery Fee of 3.31, Vehicle License Fee of 3.17, "SLI" of 38.22, and finally, Rental Tax of 38.22 - substantially more than the amount quoted on Expedia. WHAT is going on here? I fully intend to dispute the bill with VISA - and I would recommend NO ONE use this company. read more
