Amazing deal here! They have a $25 for $50 voucher you can purchase on yelp and you can apply to any service they provide! I got my oil changed here (originally $55) and I got it for around $35 and some change. I was in shock! They also include a complimentary maintenance check which I almost paid Toyota $100 for. The only con was the wait. I had to wait almost 3 hours to get my oil changed so prepare to plan your rides for the day. Whether it's general maintenance, upgrading tires and rims, Headlight updates even up to salvaging my GF Camry's rusty steel rims by sand blasting and painting it black to make it look newer. This review follows my experience with Action Auto within the last week. The transmission for my Suburban totally broke down and basically ate itself. I was stranded within a mile or so of Action Auto and they came recommended by AAA. Desperate as I was under this circumstance, I readily agreed to having them (AAA) tow my poor SUV there. Upon entering their facility, I was directly and warmly greeted and Carlton, presumably the manager and/or owner professionally guided me through the preliminary process of getting my beast back. He promptly pointed out that there was fresh coffee and popcorn (!) available and I noticed a tidy and fun-looking play area for young children; I'm sure parents waiting with their kids can really appreciate that particular feature. They worked immediately to get me back home to Long Beach where I live. I was soon greeted my Josiah who brought me home in a courteous and pleasant manner. The following day, Carlton contacted me by mid morning with a tentative report on the condition of and prognosis for my truck. He then contacted be three days later (Monday) with a better picture of what was going on with my truck. He sugar coated no aspect of what he had to report, but neither was he ringing the "Bell of Doom". He gave reasonable assurances, yes, but more significantly, he gave me OPTIONS. He allowed me, understanding fully what was going on with my Suburban, to choose the best direction for a necessary outcome with all the facts pertaining to the condition of my vehicle laid bare as he and his team saw it. Technical expertise is obviously what you mainly require from a mechanic, but candor and options are just as crucial. As a customer, I was afforded all three. I showed up two days ago to pick up my beautiful beast after having it towed there less than a week (not counting the day I left it off and Sunday) and was very pleased by their cordial reception and of the detailed and friendly way Carlton broke all of the repairs and resulting charges down. I will not hesitate to say that charges were considerable given the extent of repairs done, but it was all well worth it. I was even contacted today by phone by Kathy (Cathy?) who wanted to follow up with me on my experience. She could not have been more pleasant or concerned. Very nice touch there. Action Auto is here on out my new garage. I love this place. From the staff, to the accessibility of the location, to the quality of the workmanship to the restored performance of my vehicle--I would highly recommend this business to anyone with automotive needs ranging from a basic tune up or oil change, to a smog test, to a computer issue or to a major overhaul as was my case. I don't think I've ever "enjoyed" taking my car in to be serviced... But this is about as close as you can get. This place is totally unlike any other service centers I've ever been too. Brett has personally helped me out numerous times. Totally professional, super helpful, and always did his best to accommodate me every time! I know that being helpful and professional and all that might seem like a standard for a business but when it comes to service centers they usually seem dirty and unprofessional. Action auto is the opposite! They have a TVs and wifi to keep u from being bored while waiting. There's also lots of couches and even popcorn!!! Hahaha I can't recommend this place enough! Gave this place a try after being in dire need of an oil change- glad I did! The guys behind the counter were all very friendly and took care of me right away. Once we settled on what needed to be done they asked if I was hanging around and welcomed me to get coffee or popcorn while waiting. (Perk since I needed some coffee in my life.) Price was definitely the best part! With the $25 for $50 deal I ended up paying a whopping one dollar (and change) for a synthetic oil change!! Reason I bumped one star is because I waited for almost two hours after being told I'd be in and out within the hour. read more

Nat, thank you for your inputs. However, I don't know who you are and you weren't there. 1) You guys told me over the phone that it might take about 2 hrs (no mentioned of 3 hrs). I said that's fine as long as I can leave by 2:30pm. You guys agreed so I brought my car in. 2) I've no problem with the technicians. They were helpful, actually. As soon as I inquired about the status of my car, they stopped what they were doing to assist me right away. The problem was that I found out my car was done much sooner, but Triston didn't inform me and his rude response after. 3) Your workload and absence of a mechanic were not disclosed to me. Anyhow, these events don't justify for the poor customer service I got that day. 4) I believe, I received my car back sooner was b/c I actually walked out to check on my car after waiting in the customer lounge for 1.5hrs. I saw that it was already parked on the street & the technicians told me it was done a while ago! 5) Remember you weren't there so not sure where you got your "facts" from. AAA members get a discount and a free Tire rotation with every oil change . - Others will charge you $$ for a rotation added to oil . They guys do it once and right. About $100 less than the dealership, not to mention I didn't have to wait 6 hours for my car. They always give us great deals and are always there to answer questions we have. Be careful trusting this place, after spending many thousands for a repair (engine) we found out they used silicon to seal up something when they should have just replaced it with a $20 washer. If you complain about the work they will give you the number to their insurance company. They do not stand by their work, if you bring your vehicle back they will say "oh that is not covered". They are high-priced like a dealer, but do not back up their work at all. I really liked them too and thought I had found a place I could trust. (so funny: I started out with a smog check too, like a lot of the reviews I see - don't do it people) Customer Service is depleted when they let Carlton work there, one of the guys said "he is not the owner". Well, when he was talking crap to me that day, he represented the owner. He is rude and can't handle it when someone speaks up to him like I did. Coward. read more

Broke down on our way to Disneyland and chose ACTION auto because they are AAA certified. What a great choice! They called to start getting the details before the tow truck arrived. When my family and I showed up they were very comforting and put us at ease. The waiting room and restrooms were very clean, and they even have toys for the kids to play with. When it came to the repairs the staff was very patient and took their time to explain the scope of the problem. They worked to quickly repair the issue and even noticed a couple other issues which needed attention. It truly is a shame that we do not live here, or Action would become my routine mechanic. I took my car here about 4-5 months ago for new brakes and a full alignment. The guys took really good care of me and gave me up front and fair pricing and service recommendations (I always run this all past my mechanically-savvy buddies at the office, just to make sure everything seems reasonable). I really felt like they did a great job on my car, and never once felt like they were trying to upsell me or pull one over on me because I am a young woman....this happens too often at other auto repair places!! This past week I noticed a shaking on my steering wheel and front end as I was braking. I called up Action Auto and Nat told me to bring my car right over. Even though they were swamped, they fit me in and did a quick repair as a courtesy!! Where else will you find that?? I am completely satisfied with the service I received and would recommend Action Auto to anyone (especially people like me who feel like the dealerships feed them a load of BS and expect you to pay like crazy). THE BEST SERVICE I have received from an auto repair shop in years! Absolute honesty and straight forward help. The prices for my services were very reasonable but worth every penny due to their honesty. They did not try to "upsell" me any services or products like so many other service centers do. I am very skeptical of automobile service centers due to constantly being told I need additional parts/service once they have my vehicle. I have been trying to find a trustworthy service center due to my experience at the Honda dealer for my last visit. The only reason I would bring my car back to the dealer is if the item failing is under warranty. I have now found my home for auto service in Orange County. A big thank you to Levi Taylor the Service Advisor who helped me. 2011 Honda Civic Services they provided me: Interior, trunk, hood lights not working oil change rotate tires alignment hydrogen air for tires I paid approximately $200 for everything. i was hoping to really make this my local shop but after today i am done. orig i came in for transmission fluid draining and alignment. i mentioned my alignment was off due to an accident and i was told i may need a new strut or camber arm from a previous mechanic so to let me know before they start the alignment. i come back and they tell me they did the alignment and i just need a new camber. i asked why would they do an alignment if i needed a new camber. they told me if i get the camber they will do alignment for free since i already paid for it. fast forward one week later. i order the camber and bring it in, 4 hours later after they are done working on my car they call me saying i need a strut and the camber alone wouldn't fix it. now i. have to pay for a strut PLUS alignment AGAIN because the changes something in the car where i would have to get alignment again. i asked why they did the alignment in the first place if that's the case. he tells me "they told me" that they'll try with a camber but it may be the strut. and i told them that i said in the beginning don't do the alignment if i neeeded other parts!! either way i paid for a stupid alignment that i will prob need again and 65 for labor for a camber that was completely useless without a new strut. seems to me this place just adds shit or gives u stupid run around to make some extra cash. STAYY CLEAR THESE ARE THE TYPE OF MECHANIC OR SHOPS YOU WANT TO STAY AWAY FROM!!!! read more

He honored the yelp deal which i highly recommend! Went in to get my smog check done...They have a nice comfy couches.... That was literally the review i was writing while i was waiting. Until i was interrupted and informed they 'couldnt smog my car because it was a stick shift'... what?!..they then referred me to a random 1800 number and that number just told me to look up other random local smog shops -_- all in all dont go here if you have a stick shift car! read more
