As a parent, we want our kids to be in a place where they can not only grow in their skills and have healthy safe relationships, but to also be safe and be treated with respect and dignity by their instructor. Having their hearts broken by an adult who was supposed to care for them was just devastating. Others have left this studio for similar reasons. It is my advice, based on our personal experience, that families might want to look elsewhere for a studio with a healthy and warm environment. There are many in the front range area! In response to owner's comments. Yes, it was very sad that my family and others had to leave after such a long time of hard work, loyalty and care for you and your studio. How sad that when families came to you for help and assistance, you chose to turn your back on us, and on the issues we brought to you in good faith. I realize it is good business to respond to reviews like the one I left, but it's such a shame you did not want to deal with the severe issues we brought to you while we were all still there and asking for your help and support. As for the mental health experts you mentioned, this was not what you said to us when we were asking for your help. We did not leave solely because of the draconian policies you introduced, but because of the dismissive and cruel way you treated our family, and the others who chose to leave. We loved you and cared for you in so many ways for years, and when we asked for your help suddenly the love was all gone and you chose instead, to dismiss us and our very serious concerns. I hope you do well in the future personally, but I also hope that other families will read this and approach with caution. Too many young broken hearts at frcba. The problem you had, is still there. The rest of us just chose not to subject our teens to the bullying and negative attitude any longer. It became clear that not only was the emotional and psychological welfare of all dancers not a concern for you, but their physical safety was also not of concern when another parent could use their vehicle to threaten us and risk injuring minors and other parents and you refused to handle the situation in any kind of meaningful way. While everything written here is simply our opinion, based on our experiences, I would want any parent considering bringing their child/ teen to frcba to think twice. As the parents, we chose to stop pouring our energies and finances into a studio where it is clear that not everyone is treated equally or with fairness or justice and perhaps mostly, in our opinion, where it simply isn't safe or healthy.

There was a skimpy portion of thin and fatty odds and ends of ham, some coagulated super garlicky mashed potatoes with no butter or gravy, and steamed green beans which were flavorless and completely unadorned. The seating was incredibly cramped, and I did not enjoy sharing a table with complete strangers. There was an air conditioning vent blowing directly down onto me, and the wall behind me was filthy with dust bunnies and lint. By the end of the show several people in my general vicinity started displaying signs of irritability due to the tight quarters. The show I saw was A Christmas Story, and while the classic movie translated to the stage better than I thought it would, I felt there were a few elements that should have been excluded - such as the racism in the Chinese restaurant scene, the sexism in just about every scene with women in it, the portrayal of smoking, and the overacting (even for a community theater production where part of the appeal is the campiness) that I honestly don't remember being present in previous shows I have been to. One last thing - if you are going to do a show that features a firearm (even an unloaded BB gun) for f*ck's sake please educate your actors on proper handling. The barrel of anything (even an unloaded BB gun) pointed in my direction is gut twistingly uncomfortable.

The mashed sweet potatoes are heavenly! The dessert was okay; store-bought raspberry cheesecake. The show was pretty good too. There were some missteps in some of the dance numbers (near drop, near fall into orchestra pit), and a couple of wardrobe malfunctions (ripped pants, ripped hemline), but otherwise the show was very enjoyable. Now the question is: are these servers who act, or actors who serve? Because they do both very well!

The teachers are wonderful and pour a lot of attention and time into each student. They want them to be successful and give lots of great feedback and offer great instruction. Their summer intensives each year have guest teachers from out of state and some of the studio teachers. This gives the students a chance to learn from other artists who may not teach in the same format they are used to. They also do a performance for the parents at the end of each week of intensive. There is a contemporary intensive and a ballet intensive. They also offer many summer day camps for young ones like fairy princess camp on up to older girls. The fairy princess camp is so much fun! My daughter attended when she was little and went on to be a class helper when she was older. The studio just got new floors this spring. And they are very clean. If you are worried about covid they are taking all kinds of precautions. Small class sizes, x's on floor to mark where students should stand and more. They put on the Nutcracker production each year at the lincoln center and generally do a spring performance as well in addition to the spring showcase where the students get to show off what they have been learning all year. This is a fantastic studio! Highly recommend it if you are looking for a great dance education for your child!

Greetings, WE (some…read moredancer friends and me) have some feedback for Inertia Performing Arts dance studio and instructors based on personal experiences and those of some of my dancer friends @ CSU...It's not going to be pretty. Annnnnndddd LIFFFTTOFFFF!!! #1 - Dance instructors should begin class on-time. Not when they want to, or when everyone stops talking, or when they show up. On-the-dot, every time. It is insulting and unprofessional to begin a class late. I have attended four different classes at this studio from three different instructors, and each class has started at least five if not 10 minutes late. My friends and I do not pay for 45 or even 55 minutes of instruction (we pay for 60 minutes, FYI), and it is unethical to take money for a full class that you have no intention of delivering. #2 - Dance instructors should not tolerate conversations or chit chat that interrupts, delays, or otherwise distracts from instruction. The inability to control chatter is a mark of an immature and inept dance instructor. In 5 of the classes my roommates and I have taken, delays caused by casual conversations have totaled upwards of five minutes. #3 - Studios and instructors should not cancel classes at random. One of the most frustrating experiences has been showing up for class at Inertia only to find out it has been canceled due to sickness, low turnout, laziness, *insert other lame excuse here. A dance studio director should be closely monitoring demand and turnout for classes, and make class offerings based on such. It is illogical and unprofessional to cancel classes one week and not the other, the solution is to simply cancel the class altogether and make alternatives known to customers. Inertia Performing Arts could potentially offer something unique that other studios or programs (CCB, Dance Department @ CSU) cannot. For example, many of my friends and I have been looking for fun classes to supplement our required dance course load. However, I don't see how IPA could ever become a professional quality dance studio while some of the aforementioned issues are persisting. It is not surprising to me that IPA has a mediocre reputation among dancers in Fort Collins, and subsequently low turnout for your drop-in classes. My four roommates and I have stopped attending dance classes and will no longer purchase class cards because of these issues. I'm assuming this is significant revenue, as we would potentially take class @ IPA 3x/week (up to 5x/week in summer). This lost revenue does not include all of the bad publicity each of us spreads about IPA to our dancer friends, because we cannot willingly recommend IPA when we know classes are canceled randomly and dancers receive only 75% of what we pay for.

Contrary to the previous review, I have had an excellent experience at Inertia. I, too, attend the…read moredrop-in program, which I love because it is very flexible with my school schedule. When I purchased a punch card, it was made very clear that I needed to call in advance if I was planning on attending classes, so if the other dancers showed up and did not realized that there would not be a class that day, it was because they failed to follow the instructions given by the studio and listed clearly on the schedule. I have found that some weeks have very full classes, and others (particularly during midterms or finals at CSU) have lower attendence, but if I come with two friends every week they will offer the class for us. I have found that there are breaks during class where teachers chat with students, but it is usually very relevant to the style or specific class. For example, one instructor spent a few minutes discussing the importance of the crunches and strength training that we do during warm up because a few students were not enthusiastic about participating in the warmup and decided to laugh and lay on the floor instead. After explaining that a strong core and body is essential for turning, preventing injury, etc, the class resumed, and all the students were ready to learn. I would definiately recommend the classes at Inertia, I have found that the teachers are extremely knowledgable (unlike some classes I have taken where people think they can teach hip hop because they watch MTV) and fun to learn from. I can come in each week and learn new material without having to commit to weekly attendence, and I find it easy to jump right in and have a great time! They also offer classes that I have not been able to find elsewhere in Fort Collins.
