Scott is extremely thorough and I am confident that if there is a problem that can be found, he will find it. He also took the time to attempt to correct minor problems that he found. OK, House #2 attempt. After losing the last house, we were able to get a better one. Again we used ACSI services to get the inspection completed. His inspections again have impressed us. Even in extreme heat warnings for the day, he took his time in the attic making that everything was covered. His inspections were very through and even impressed my wife with his vast knowledge of materials, quality of work, and house in general was outstanding. He was able to notice that we had a wall in the house that was not part of the original design of the house. I couldn't see it. He does have some fantastic stories of previous inspections, I hope I don't become one of those, Hahaha. Again, I do highly recommend him for any inspection services that you have on a home. From the very beginning, this team was phenomenal. My husband and I were in the process of purchasing a home, built in 1975. When I called to set up the appointment, their admin (I can't recall her name!!) was a delight and a pleasure to work with. Gave me good feelings right from the start; even scheduled the termite inspection for us as well. Day of inspection comes up and wouldn't you know it, we were blessed by the universe, a thunderstorm decided to roll through. Thank god for this storm or else we would not have seen all the leaks and water pooling on the property until it was too late. Our inspector, Tim Lofgreen, was so thorough and detail-oriented, exactly what we were hoping for for a 41 year old home. He discovered water pooling badly on the inside window sills, much pooling on the roof near parapets, active leaks in the roof, and an odd bedroom in the attic. One thing to note is that the sellers sent us a home inspection they had done in January. I am so glad we got a second opinion because boy did the sellers' inspector miss things. A lot of things. A lot of probably very expensive things. The inspection lasted around 5 hours due to the inclement weather, and he gave us a run-down of the big items he found and his recommendations. After much discussion that evening, we made the decision to walk from the house; a house we thought we could turn into our dream home for many years to come. Due to the high level of detail and the fact that his report was 72 pages and the sellers' inspection was only 20, (we felt the sellers and their agents were also being a bit shady and not forthcoming about issues the house had) we were extremely comfortable walking away because the house would've been a money pit. A wonderful touch they did was send over a page of address labels with the "new homes'" address on it as well as a bundle of postcards with the photo of the home to send to our friends and family. I HIGHLY recommend ACSI for your home inspection needs. They far surpassed my expectations and saved us from making a bad decision. Thanks! read more

I asked Scott to inspect the home we're closing on in Tempe, AZ. He was incredible - prompt, thorough, professional, extremely knowledgeable, very patient with all my questions ( i was there for the whole thing - actually was the first time I was seeing the house, too.) And did I say thorough? The entire inspection took almost 6 hours (it is an old ranch and has some "quirks") and Scott didn't let up until he'd investigated every nook and cranny. He even shared his graph paper and water with me, and pointed out SO many things that will come in handy when we're living in the house and maintaining it. Also, beyond his building expertise, he's also extremely well connected. After discovering some major roof damage he hooked me up with a local roofer to do an estimate the next day, and also recommended a great pool repair company and pest control service - all of them prompt, professional, and more cost effective than anybody I found on my own. He's got a great sense of humor, too, and the "gift of gab" which made the whole process a little less daunting, and dare I say, fun?! read more

My inspector didn't do the one specific thing I asked him to look at and document. I practically handed to him on his lap the glaring problem the house had that I wanted looked at and documented. He claimed he looked at it, and found no problem. Total lie. He really never looked at it, otherwise the problem would have been completely obvious. Coincidentally, his light just happened to go dead when he wanted to take a picture of it, so nothing was documented. He also said the bathroom sink drains were fine, even after I told him one of them was completely stopped up. I even had my own video of it, before and after the inspection. I have no idea what this guy actually did. I chose this company becasue they seemed to be more thorough, knowledgeable, and investigative. They also charged way more than other companies, which I didn't mind paying if the service was more thorough. It was in fact terrible. I know this because I did my own inspection beforehand. Just because they write up a nice looking report doesn't mean it's thorough or even accurate. If I didn't find out for myself the glaring items that were wrong with this house, I would have been given the impression that their inspection was good. This company was a total rip-off. Don't pay the premium using these guys when there are so many other cheaper companies that do a better job. read more

As a result of finding yet another defect that was missed in our home inspection last year, I'm lowering my review of this company to just 1-star. I recently found both the hot and cold water valves for the washing machine were frozen when I tried to install a new unit. By the looks of the corrosion around the valves, they'd obviously been in need of replacement for decades. No surprise that yet again my home inspection report doesn't even make mention of inspecting these valves. This ended up being a fairly expensive repair job, because some of the copper plumbing behind the wall needed replacement in addition to the valves. Sure would have been nice to know there was a problem there in advance. read more

We used ACSI for our home inspection. They stated a sump pump was serviceable. They did not mention the fact there was no power outlet to the pump to run it. We found that out the hard way after our house flooded. We have been trying to get this issue resolved with the owner Scott to cover damage as it was missed by his inspector. We have called several times over 6 weeks and submitted all paperwork requested. We keep hearing Scott will call you today every time we call. 6 weeks later we have yet to receive a call from Scott. He own employees have said he keeps trying to pass the buck to other supervisors. Please do not use them, All of their guarantees are false. We have over 22000 dollars in damage from a flood due to a missed issue. Update 10/9/18. We received a response back from one review stating we have not given them information on anything. We sent them the contractor estimate and gave them the insurance information back in August 2018. Not only did we send it via email but also registered mail. They signed for the mail. They called us on the estimates and called my insurance adjuster in September. This company is untrustworthy and will lie to save themselves money. Again do not trust their guarantees. We recently used ACSI for the inspection of our new home. Our inspection was done by Tim who did a very thorough job. He also walked us though all the main issues and took the time to explain everything, and recommended a few inexpensive easy fixes. After we moved in I noticed that a 4 way switch wasn't working at our stairs. With all the hassle of moving, I didn't think much of it. After living there for a month it was a big nuisance to not be able to have a light to walk up the stairs at night. Last week I got an email from ACSI asking if I was still pleased with my inspection, and for the record overall I was. I called them and asked if there was anything that could be done b/c I felt the inspector should have found the switches weren't working. They were so helpful, and sent out Dave the next day! He was there promptly at 9am and stayed until the switches were fixed. He even ran to the store and bought a new switch. He was there over 2 and half hours and dealt with my kids jumping over him to get to their rooms. He was AMAZING to stay until the job was done and dealt with all of us in his way.
