    Mousaka

Humble establishment with exquisite Greek cuisine. Wait staff is courteous and knowledgeable. A mousaka to die for, excellent lamb and delightful desserts. They even pay attention to the side salads - so delicious. Come hungry. Leave satisfied.

I came here for the prix fixe menu and left having only ordered the soup and salad. I've since returned four times and can't seem to get past the soup and salad, it's that good! I recommend the 4 onion soup which is an interesting lightly creamy onion broth topped with a puff pastry crust. The puff pastry mixes with the broth and makes for a really filling bowl of soup. For the salad, I get the Acropolis salad with grilled shrimp. The salad comes with Romaine lettuce, Roma tomato, blue cheese, fresh cucumber, onion, Kalamata olive, and bacon with a side of balsamic vinaigrette. I've always had great service but this place is packed on Friday and Saturday night so you may have to wait for a table. Acropolis has a real Metairie vibe. It's locals serving locals and I like it!

Combination appetizer but we already ate the spinach dish for the picture.

Fantastic food. Service not so good. Be prepared to wave down your white staff. Delicious flounder gyro. Bahamas was not as smooth as I would have liked it. The combo appetizer was worth it.

Delicious food! Got the appetizer sampler, mousaka and baklava and all were amazing! The entree came with a side Caesar salad which was also good. The wait staff were very personable and patient. It's a small little quaint place but offers so much. People with me got a gyro salad, pistachio (prob spelled that wrong but it's the mousaka with noodles) and one got the pork tenderloin wrap. Not crazy about to the wrap but everything was very good. We got the Luku balls and I wasn't crazy about that. Overall it was all great food! We spent $100 on the sampler, three entrees and two desserts. Not bad!

This is a quaint nice restaurant. Very unsuspecting from the outside, but as soon as you walk inside, you see, smell and feel the Greek authenticity down to the decor. I was the second person through the door for the dinner hours opening so only two people working the dining area. Both were very pleasant and helpful. I was mad at myself for not looking closely at the daily specials. Ugh...all week in NOLA I was jonesing for red snapper / red fish. I didn't even look at the specials because per the Greek ambiance, I wanted gyro meat...well, as you will see from my fotos, one of their specials the night I dropped in was Greek style pan sautéed red fish. I can't wait to return, I plan to scour the specials of the day. Lol Please don't forget to smash the like button, and thank you..

This is the best Meditteranian restaurant in the city. They have lots of daily specials now which is a plus.

Foods are delish and the owner was attentive and checking on us periodically. He welcomed us and our paws kids with a big smile!! Order taken quickly at the counter: gyro wrap w/side of yellow rice, an order of Dolmas (8) and a soda. With tax & tip $34.88. Sat at a booth type table for comfort, only to discover we had to tip toe around the messy floor and I kicked away a ball of something rather than squish it. Husband said wrap was tasty but didn't remember they use a wrap instead of a pita for the gyro sandwich. (I had the gyro on our last visit.) Rice was good. My dolmas, however, were gross. I don't dip them in tzatziki, I typically like the taste. However, today the rice inside them was very, very gooey, as if they sat over the holiday. I ate 2.5 and threw the rest out. Someone came out to ask how things were but apparently didn't notice they were standing on rice. I didn't say anything about the dolmas, because by this time they were in the trash. Took home the remaining portion of the gyro, rice & tzatziki. Asked for a to go box, then asked again for lids for the sauce. Both times I interrupted someone playing on their phone, and the rest of the staff was hanging out talking behind the counter. Really wished they had taken the time to check the dining area.
