    Greek salad

Now this is what real Greek food tastes like! My husband and I stopped in for lunch and it was a fantastic experience. We were warmly greeted and our server came to our table quickly to take our order. My husband and I ordered keftedes- the meatballs, a Greek salad, potatoes, and the tour of Greece. Everything was phenomenal! We loved it all and the tour of Greece platter was the perfect way to go. The moussaka was delicious with creamy bechamel sauce, spanakopita, gyro meat, green beans in tomato sauce! We are so glad that Acropolis has opened up in our area.

On my first visit, everything was great! Service, food, parking were spot on. We were told that the desserts are handmade. Entree portions are huge. I am happy to see a new restaurant in this area for locals and tourists to enjoy. This is an easy walk or short drive from the coast casinos and the Shuckers baseball field. I have no doubt this location will do great. This was an easy 5-star review. Eat local and enjoy.

The original owner of Mr. Greek just opened this place in the old Wayward Kraken by the baseball stadium. We started with the Greek sampler appetizer and it had a little of everything. Just watch out for the seeds in the olives. They give you plenty of pita bread to go with it, too. My wife ordered the spanakopita and they gave her three large pieces. I had the pastitsio which is like moussaka but with pasta. It was so good! Salads and sides were also included. For dessert, we each had some warm baklava. It is great to see new places like this open up and I hope they do well. Service was quick and friendly, too. Give them a try!

Fantastic, just utterly fantastic. Was in town visiting friends when they recommended this place. Had the chicken souvlaki, calamari and the Mykonos Gyros (I just wanted to try everything). This food was Spectacular. The only bad thing was my inability to eat everything. On the menu.

First of all the staff is fantastic. Normally I immediately jump to the food but the people here treat you like family. The chef came out and Made me feel like I was his nephew. He truly was concerned if we liked everything. Next the food, we had the calamari to start and my wife had the snapper. I had the other fish. Both were so good we shared everything and then for dessert nothing beats the blueberry cheesecake. Out of this world. Finally let's talk about the prices. these are easily 30-50 dollar dishes and they are charging way under those prices. You need to run here for the food...

Stopped in yesterday after the Shucker's game and we are happy to have this new addition to the downtown area. Feels like a Greek restaurant inside to add to the experience. The lunch specials are well-priced and generous. I had the spanakopita and he had the gyro plate. We were first served their Greek salad and it was quite tasty with a slab of feta - nice touch. Each lunch comes with their green beans and potatoes and they're very good. We both enjoyed our entrees and our shared bites! Our server was sweet - didn't get her name. This will be on the regular rotation for sure.

Love the decor. Located on main district. Order Togo. Quick service. Gyro was delicious. The sweet look so yummy will try next time.

Restaurant was amazing, very authentic decor and very clean. The service was amazing, our server explained everything on the menu and her recommendations were great. I highly suggest the fried zucchini.

When I travel to Gulfport for work, I looked for healthy, authentic options in the area. I found Acropolis Greek restaurant on Howard avenue & I've got to say that the food and staff were amazing. I highly recommend.

On the inside this place it feels like you are actually in Greece. The tzatziki was great, gyros were huge, and service was wonderful as well. Clean place and good eats.

The restaurant reminded me of "Grandma's Haus" without the overwhelming aging smell. I wasn't hungry much, but wanted a bite to eat. My boyfriend was indeed starving and was ready to sink his teeth into some Greek food! We were immediately greeted by this nice and kind server, she was attentive and gave us patience when ordering. I ordered a Greek salad minus the feta cheese. My boyfriend got the gyro sandwich, fries, and zucchini fritters. Our server jokingly questioned why I wanted to opt the cheese, but I gladly told her to make it vegan at which she agreed that she could. I wasn't expecting the salad to be a massive portion, but geez louise, it was colossal with half cut tomatoes, large cucumbers (not the Kirby ones), long strips of purple onions, thick lettuce, the brightest and tangy banana peppers, unpitted Kalamata olives with a housemade viniaigrette. The salad was enough for two, but it was overwhelmingly delicious to finish for one. The olives were a tad bit harder to eat since the pits remained in there, not good for anyone that could struggle with swallowing or can choke easily. I did struggle to fit the tomatoes in my tiny mouth which they needed to be cut more. I haven't had a good salad with that portion size in a while. My boyfriend said that the food was good, but that it doesn't beat Aladdin Mediterranean Grill in Jackson. I could agree that the food was solid. The prices definitely matched what I used to spend at Dimassi's Mediterranean buffet (in Houston, TX) back in the early 2012-2018 before COVID hit. I actually miss those days when everything was dirt cheap. You can't go wrong at Mr. Greek if you are wanting tasty food and you are craving Greek.

I was here for lunch on a Saturday. It was empty when I arrived but by the time I left it was pretty full. Lots of locals and regular customers talking about how good it is. I can attest. My food was fresh and delicious. I can't attest for its' authenticity, but it is as good as any Greek food I have had elsewhere. Service was quick. I was seated immediately and the lady brought my drink out right away. She kept the refills coming and my glass never got empty. After I ordered, my food came out very quickly. She kept checking on me, and the restaurant started to fill up, but I never felt any pressure like she was trying to hustle me out and turn the table. This was good, because my plate was so large that it took me a while to eat it all! My food was a little bit pricey for a lunch, but it was so nice that I feel it was worth it. I will definitely go back. There are a number of other menu items I want to try.

First thing when I walked in the door, that's what I heard. I should've turned around and walked out right there. The hummus was without flavor, but I'm used to fresh robust flavors in my authentic hummus. The pita was clearly left on the counter without being covered and so it was chewy, stale, reminiscent of a dog eating a rawhide and not edible. Hard pass. Even though our server was very pleasant, there was extreme inconsistencies coming from the kitchen that could not be resolved. With the owner sitting at the front table and the daughter at the front desk, there was clearly a sense of tenseness throughout the establishment. After being in the Mediterranean myself, this is not a Mediterranean restaurant and it confuses me for it to say Mexican on the menu. I'll try back in another eight years.
