The hotel's location is wonderful, with beautiful waterfront views and a charming walking path nearby. Parking was easy and convenient, and check-in was quick and seamless. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and always smiling. They also offered complimentary unlimited water, coffee, and tea, which was a nice touch. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and we were lucky to have a beautiful view of Mount Tam, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The complimentary breakfast was okay, but I wish there had been more variety and additional options to choose from. It was a nice perk, but expanding the selection would make it even better. The only downside is that the hotel itself feels a bit outdated. I think it has so much potential if the property were renovated, including the hallways, bathrooms, and guest rooms. With some updates, it could easily become an outstanding hotel. Overall, I had a pleasant stay. While I don't think the property itself is quite at a 4- or 5-star level yet, the exceptional customer service certainly deserves 5 stars. The staff truly made the experience memorable. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. The location and outstanding staff make it worth coming back. That said, I would love to see the hotel add a small lobby gift shop with snacks, drinks, and travel essentials to make the experience even more convenient for guests. The property has so much potential to truly stand out with some thoughtful updates and renovations. I would honestly love to renovate the entire place because I can see how beautiful it could become. The complimentary cheese and wine hour was a wonderful touch and something I really enjoyed and others as well. As for the cookies, they were good but cheap, but I think it would be even more memorable if the hotel partnered with a local Marin County bakery to offer fresh, locally made cookies or pastries. Supporting a local business would give guests a true taste of the area while creating a unique experience they'll remember. I visited this boutique hotel a few weeks ago for a Women's Event. I can only share on the event space. I am a big fan of boutique hotels but when you add an incredible view. You have my heart! I loved the tranquil lobby and water feature that I unfortunately didn't get a photo. Tea selection was great too! The event began in one of the event space then moved to second floor where there was an awesome glass encased patio area. We had lunch there and continued our conference there because of beautiful scenery. I would definitely return. read more

We stayed here for one night and really enjoyed it. At first, we thought the freeway nose would be disruptive, but we didn't hear it at all when in our room or on the backside of the property (where there are beautiful walking trails!). The room was very clean, comfy, and the amenities were great. The evening wine and apps hour was a nice touch, with a fantastic and ample selection of local wines. Breakfast was a mix of good quality items, although we would like to have had a hot vegan option (tofu scramble, breakfast potatoes, or ??). There was oat milk and soy milk so we had cereal with nuts and berries, wheat toast with peanut butter, fresh fruit, juices, and coffee/ tea. The walkway behind the hotel is the jewel here...it is SO pretty! So many birds at low and high tide. Such a pretty view of Mt Tamalpais in the distance. Highly recommend! read more

"My husband booked the junior suite for my birthday, and it was such an AMAZING experience from start to finish, starting with Isaac. He helped me with check-in and was extremely nice and accommodating. From the road, the hotel doesn't look like much, but looks are definitely deceiving--it's a beautiful property! They offer free wine and cheese from 5-7 PM, which was such a nice touch. We enjoyed ours on the second floor, overlooking the water by the fire pits. It was so relaxing. The room itself was lovely, and since it was my birthday, they went above and beyond with a bottle of champagne waiting for me--such a thoughtful gesture! They also had cookies, and the breakfast the next morning was delicious. The location is great, too--just a short drive to Sausalito. I have a special review for the Acqua Hotel as my wife and I had our wedding here at the end of May. We've looked at dozens of venues and finally came across Acqua which met all of our criteria with modernness of the hotel, able to accommodate our party size, cost and being water front. However, we never would have expected how amazing the staff would be to make our day special. This hotel might be small but it has everything you'd want in a hotel including amazing amenities such was wine hour, freshly baked cookies, bike rentals, amazing location close to the GG bridge and Sausalito. All of the rooms also have amazing views of the water. The is also an amazing morning breakfast, not like a normal chain Marriot breakfast but much higher quality with vegan options as well. Overall, I am so thankful that we had our wedding at this hotel. Kirstin and her staff went above and beyond to make our day special. A part of me want to gatekeep this location for a wedding since it's honestly perfect but I'd love other couples to enjoy and have the same amazing experience that my wife and I had. read more

We hosted an event at this hotel. The event staff were responsive and provided great guidance/ideas when it came to staging for the event. The event space is simple, but beautiful because it looks out to the bay. You don't need much additional decoration when half of your room is looking out to water and greenery. The hotel is right next to the highway, but it's quiet in the hotel rooms. They offer wine & cheese every evening AND a great breakfast in the morning. This is a gem of a spot in Mill Valley. I was leading a 4-day training here and it was an awesome experience! Judy Gilmore and her team provide excellent service for events every step of the way. This boutique hotel is part of the Marin Hotels group. It is right on the water and the majority of the rooms face the water. I've stayed here many times, and each time my room has had a bathtub which is nice. The hotel has a very calm and friendly vibe. The nightly wine and cheese happy hour from 5-7pm is a great bonus as well as the freshly baked cookies nightly at 7pm. There is also a nice breakfast that's included. I also borrowed a free bike and helmet and rode around the water. There is no restaurant on site, yet there are nice dining options within walking distance or a few minutes away by car. This is a great hotel if you're looking for a quiet getaway or looking for a venue for your next training! read more

It's easily one of the best affordable hotels you'll find in the Bay Area. Their wine and cheese happy hour from 5-7 PM is a lovely touch, and the warm cookies afterward are the perfect treat to end the evening. The views from every room are simply breathtaking, and the beds are so comfortable that you'll have a hard time leaving in the morning. On top of that, they offer a complimentary breakfast that's the cherry on top of an already wonderful stay. The Acqua hotel exceeded our expectations! We walked into the lobby and were greeted warmly by Gustavo. He was thorough in his explanation of the amenities of the hotel. The hotel hosts small events such as complimentary wine and cookies towards the end of the day with such amazing views. Gustavo also explained the enclosed lounge area and let us know of the warming fireplaces. Overall, we were content with the attention to detail during our stay, customer attention to detail from Gustavo, and environment. I am very picky on hotels and expect a lot out of them since we are spending money to stay. We booked the room based on the good yelp reviews, location and price. I will say the staff was PHENOMENAL. They let us check in 2.5 hours early which was a huge win. They are very accommodating. We asked for extra pillows and blankets which arrived timely. They offer a wine and cheese hour daily which we had to miss due to our dinner reservations but thought it was a nice touch. They also offer cookies in the evenings, complimentary smart water and breakfast in the Mornings until 10am. Unfortunately if you don't get breakfast early all of the items are gone quickly so we ended up having to leave to get breakfast. But nice perks at least. The hotel itself is very very old. We entered our room and there was a bad smell like an old smell so we ended up going to the store to buy candles to get rid of the smell which worked. We stayed on the first floor in a junior suite. It had double doors that opened up to a patio but there were so many bushes and bugs near the door so we decided not to utilize the patio. The furniture in the room was pretty outdated. There was a mini fridge. I saw a few ants near the bath tub. The bed felt more like a queen. All in all was an average stay for one night. Probably wouldn't have wanted to stay more than one night but again I'm very picky on hotels. read more

The Acqua Hotel is easy to overlook because it sits just off the 101 Freeway in Mill Valley. It's along a nice waterfront. The rooms face Mill Valley and Mt. Tam. Nicely appointed, comfortable rooms is a garden setting. Great views, access to the waterfront trail which is easy to connect with the paved trail to Sausalito. Free use of bikes. Full breakfast included, wine and cheese at 5 p.m., cookies in the evening. Nice conference rooms as well. A bit of an oasis for a bay area stay-vacation or a visit from out of town. Unbelievable. We spent the weekend there with family for a private event. The food was spectacular, the ambiance was breathtaking and the hotel staff were so hospitable. They have a delicious free breakfast with the best vegetarian frittata .. free wine and cheese/fruit in the evenings.. free water in the room, more wine in the room.. it was a pleasure staying there. The husband and I came here for our anniversary. I was looking for a tranquil low key place and this hotel checked all of the boxes. Genevieve had helped me with checking in. She was exceptional! She made our stay even more worth while with upgrading our room. I appreciated all the extra touch they include with your stay. They had a welcome package which included a half bottle of wine, cookies, and water. They also surprised us with a bottle of champagne and chocolate in the room. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. Room was a good size. I love the fact that they had a balcony and individual ac/ heating units, especially with the pandemic. I felt very safe staying there. I love taking staycations and exploring areas close to home...When I was researching a hotel to book: I came across the excellent reviews for the Acqua Hotel. Let me tell you, the reviews are definitely accurate and the Hotel did not disappoint. Upon arrival there's plenty of free parking. The location is beautiful with pathways for walking/bike riding. Staff was very friendly and smiley :) I love that! The hotel lobby was very tranquil...the fireplace was on, along with wall fountains and plenty of plants. There was complimentary tea and coffee provided 24/7. A great perk is the rooftop lounge area. I loved the fire pits and the beautiful lights. I enjoyed relaxing on the rooftop and blankets were provided in case it became too chilly. There's a wine and cheese reception daily starting at 17:00 ending at 19:00. Also, complimentary breakfast provided in the morning from 7:00-10:00. The breakfast offered a variety of choices and not your typical continental breakfast. It definitely was a breakfast buffet and there is also a coffee bar equipped with staff to prepare drinks and replenish the food provided. The service staff was also very friendly and inviting! I really appreciate the attention to detail and the ambiance that Acqua Hotel offers. Although the decor could use a little updating, the beds were so comfortable!! Each room comes with a refrigerator, plenty of towels, toiletries, T.V, central air/heating, and stickers indicating that everything was clean/sanitized. I also loved the view from my room. Large, comfortable rooms (ours had a balcony), quiet and peaceful with walking paths, benches, bikes for guests, a fantastic breakfast spread, fresh coffee and bottled water available 24/7. Wine and cheese happy hour and delicious, fresh-baked cookies every evening. Excellent restaurants steps away and a shopping center with Safeway, In and Out Burger and much more 1/2 mile. Several larger malls (Nordstrom, Macys, Apple, Banana Republic) less than a 10 minute drive away. Super easy access to the freeway. Sausalito and the Golden Gate Bridge just minutes away. The staff is wonderful! We had to leave early this morning for the airport, and John, the night manager, kindly packed us a to-go box with muffins and melon slices! We would never have even thought to ask and he did this all on his own for us at 6:00AM! Such wonderful service! My fiance and I have stayed here twice in the last year. This is a prime location for the price. Please don't let the freeway keep you from staying here. It almost did for me. The rooms are spacious please consider a "water view " it's breathtaking. If not you'll still have a great room and excellent service. The front desk staff was very attentive and even upgraded our room once they found out it was our anniversary. At 5pm they serve complimentary cheese and wine with fresh baked cookies. Lastly, the trails that lead into a beautiful neighborhood into a dog park is truly amazing. We got to rent bikes from the hotel for free! Loved our stay and will be coming back soon! read more

Spur of the moment get away with my man and we chose the Aqua Hotel, and let me tell you we were more then satisfied with our stay here. Josh took his time to tell us everything we needed to know and was so happy to help us find our way around the hotel to even suggesting places to eat around the town! This will be our go to spot when we need a getaway it's just so quit and peaceful and beautiful! Oh and they have an amazing complimentary breakfast with everything imaginable! They've got comfy beds and nice rooms. Our room had sliding doors that opened to a waterview. It was nice being able to easily access the outdoors. We enjoyed walking along the water and sitting on the benches. They gave us a little welcome bag with wine and a cookie. A member of the staff noticed my son and gave him a darling stuffed whale. It made his day. They have a nice tea and coffee station in the lobby. When we last visited, they were still practicing Covid safety precautions. read more

We checked in at this hotel 2 wks ago and was surprised by the gorgeous and serene view and ground.The hotel itself is surprisingly great only complaint is the room on the small side, even the king suite room that we were in is small to my liking. Price for the suite room is comparable to SF and SausalitoTiburon hotel pricing. Perks: welcome wine and chocolate in the room, free hot breakfast( ample choices) and afternoon wine&fruit/cheese in the lobby; Water view for all the suite rooms; and a beautiful walking trail. Some reviewers said that they can hear the freeway noise but we didnt. Kudos to the receptionist that day, he let us in an hour early of check in time, lobby smells good and has a zen like feel. We very much enjoyed our one night stay at this hotel. Beautiful views outside and it was nice to walk around out front around the water. They have bikes you can use for free as well. Check in was quick and easy, Haley was the one who checked us in and was very sweet and welcoming. Gave us a welcome bag that included a small bottle of wine, water, and some cookies (how awesome!!) and also wrote down some recommendations of restaurants in the area that she liked. The room itself was clean and comfy and our kids enjoyed the big tub. Breakfast buffet is included with your stay and had a nice selection of items.. fruits, oatmeal, deviled eggs, scrambled eggs, sausage/bacon, waffles, etc. I would definitely recommend this place to others who are looking for a nice/comfortable stay in Marin county. read more

From the outside, it looks like a business/corporate building, but when you walk in, the lobby is beautiful and serene. This has been one of the most welcoming hotels I've experienced! When my fiancé and I arrived, we received a welcome half bottle of wine of our choice, two smart waters, and two cookies. There was always a refreshments station available in the lobby with fresh water, nearly a dozen tea options, coffee, and decaf, and we definitely made good use of it throughout the stay. Plus, since we were there on New Year's Eve, the front desk staff gifted us a bottle of bubbly to toast to the new year! We found the rooms to be extremely cosy and warm. We were in one of the top floor rooms with a balcony and a fireplace, and we were delightfully surprised that the fireplace was a real wood burning stove. We found some easy to light logs next to it, and a lighter, and loved that our room filled with the heat and the smell of a real fire. We finished the logs that they left us on the first night, so we asked for more and they brought us more than expected. The bathroom was well equipped and had a sperate tub from shower. We wished we had brought materials for s'mores and bubble baths! The free breakfast was also one of the highlights of this hotel. It was extremely varied and beautifully presented. There were always two very welcoming staff members available to help prepare espresso coffees, replenish the dishes, and sanitize the utensils. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and included scrambled eggs, frittata, sausages, bacon, a waffles station, oatmeal, hardboiled eggs, string cheese, fresh fruit, a cereal bar, water, a few juices, coffee, tea, pastries, toasts, jams, peanut butter, and nutella. The absolute best was a freshly made waffle topped with strawberries and nutella! Overall, this hotel had excellent service and a beautiful view, and was extremely comfortable for our stay. I stayed here for two from SoCal. Wow, I was coming from SF AIRPORT and the convenience of the Marin Aiporter Comfortable Shuttle that only cost $24.00 and dropped me of by the hotel. When I checked in to this hotel, I was greeted by lovely staff and a bag of wine, water bottles and delicious chocolate chip cookies. This hotel offers incredible surprises. From super sweet morning smiles of the service staff for the buffet breakfast and a great walk around the bay. Sunrise to sunset and more. My guy and I absolutely LOVED our stay here! Such incredible and friendly staff, so many included amenities, and even bike rentals?! It was awesome. Shout out to Joshua, Randy, and the entire housekeeping staff- so warm, friendly and helpful! We started our stay with a great bike tour of the area, then hung out watching sunset on our balcony, enjoyed the included wine and cheese happy hour in their very zen lobby, then walked over to dinner at a local spot. In the morning we enjoyed lattes in our soaking bathtub, followed by taking our breakfast to go to enjoy at Muir beach! I can't recommend Acqua enough and you really get an amazing value for your money. We stayed in a 3rd floor suite and I would definitely book that again. Such a hidden gem of Mill Valley/Marin! (Be sure to bring cash to tip the breakfast team and housekeeping! I wish hotels would start having a QR code for tipping!
