There's no possible way I could say enough good things about Rick and his team. Not only were they the first people I found when I needed to remodel my condo, but Rick continued to be an invaluable asset. He recommended a painter who I really liked and was the most responsible, reliable, coolest guy I could've met at the beginning of this journey. Rick is so punctual, the work they did was breathtaking and honestly... I could not more highly recommend anyone I have ever found on yelp! read more

I have been a yelper for years, but have never gotten around to leaving a review, so this is my first. I felt there was no way I could not leave a rave review for Rick and Acoustic Removed after he removed the popcorn on the ceiling of a rental home. I first contacted Rick on a Sunday, calling the phone number he has listed and figured I'd leave a voicemail. I was surprised when he answered the phone and spoke with me for 20 minutes or so. He came out the next day and gave me an extremely reasonable estimate so I told him to go ahead with the work. Rick and his crew did an unbelievably fantastic job and I couldn't be happier. Rick is the most honest, genuine, ethical and straightforward person you could ever hope to meet, and I will avail myself of his services again whenever needed. read more

I called five contractors before I found this guy. All others were either way overpriced, not available or just did not have the time of day for us. Rick pick up the phone and was ready to come and give us an estimate at our convenience. We appreciated the honest opinion, estimate and advice that he gave us. We had been trying to remove the popcorn ceiling ourselves and were getting nowhere really fast. Plus our high ceilings were going to be a pain not only to remove but to texture as well. We decided to continue in our own but after a week, we decided to call him back and help us with the removal and texture. The work they did was great. Very punctual, finished the job in the time he estimated ( 3 days!! For two story house) and left everything very clean. I can not recommend this guy enough. If you want no BS and a great job, give Rick a call. read more

Rick is awesome, solid guy no bull shit great work. If you need a drywall guy or to remove popcorn on your ceiling, paint work etc Ricks your man!! Thanks Rick! Todd read more

OK, so I hire Acoustic Removed to do 4 bedrooms, remove the popcorn ceiling and paint. Day 1, as promised, popcorn removed and I'm left with a clean place. Of course, being me, I run my hand around and do find some very fine white powdery stuff but really not bad at all. Ran the vacuum and wiped and the rooms are ready to be slept in. Will update this review as the project progresses. Day 1, happy camper, do recommend, and by the way Rick is a nice guy! Day 2, took a break for a day to let things dry and set then onto priming and painting. Again, clean job and no complaints. Rick is a good guy, concerned about the job and is on top of the work. Recommended, for sure, no brainier for drywall and painting needs. read more

Acoustic Removed - Roof after popcorn removed and they glossed and painted - Drywall Installation & Repair Near Me - Ventura, California

Rick is a standup guy! He is: 1. accessible 2. reasonable 3. quick 4. trustworthy 5. knowledgeable He helped me get rid of popcorn ceiling and super-adherent wallpaper. I appreciated the time he took to explain the work and how it is done. My ceiling looks great and my place is transformed! Rick is also very reasonable as many other reviewers claim. Initially I was going to have someone else take care of the wallpaper, but after 6 hours of work, they were only able to remove a foot of wallpaper. Rick took a look and offered some tips for removal, but he did such a great job with the ceiling, I was confident that he could help me with this issue as well and he did. The hideous wallpaper is gone and the wall is retextured. He also referred me to an excellent electrician with similar qualities. Thank you, Rick! read more

Rick and his team did a great job at scraping my popcorn ceilings and patching almost 20 holes that I had in the ceiling and in the walls from some electrical work I had done prior. You could never tell there was popcorn ceiling there and the patch work was flawless. I even have vaulted ceilings and it only took them about 2 days to scrape, patch everything, sand, smooth, etc and clean. The price was reasonable compared to other bids I had and he was pretty responsive. read more

Rick contracted a solid job at a competitive price when completing my entire home scrape earlier this year. I found him to be responsive, friendly and professional. I was particularly impressed with one of his scrapers, Jose (the younger one). This guy worked tirelessly-even through the 4th of July....truly cared about getting the job done for me within the timeline I needed-seriously, the best ever. Finish work was solid, they exquisitely patched the holes my electrician made during canned lights....Just gave my house the equivalent of plastic surgery..this old house is quite the cougar! Thanks to Rick and especially his employee Jose for a job well done. Highly recommend. read more

We recently bought a house in Chatsworth that had popcorn ceilings almost everywhere, including in the closets. We really wanted it all removed, but after receiving outrageous bids from 3 different contractors, I'd all but given up hope when I received the quote from Rick. It was less than half (or in the case of one, less than a third) what the other people were quoting me. So I went with Acoustic Removed. Admittedly, though, because they were so much cheaper, I did have doubts as to whether they were going to do a quality job. Luckily, these doubts were completely unfounded. Not only did they do an absolutely beautiful job of removing the popcorn ceiling and replastering, but every single day of the 7 day project, the two guys working on the house were waiting for me before I would even arrive to let them in. It didn't matter if I showed up on time or 15 minutes before their scheduled start time, they were already there each and every single time. While this is how it should be with good contractors, it is unfortunately not the way it often works out. I would glowingly recommend Acoustic Removed if you need to say bye-bye to your ugly, dated popcorn ceilings. read more

I would recommend Rick again in a heartbeat. He and his worker Jose were phenomenal! In 3 days our house was scraped and re-textured. When I asked for an estimate he promptly came out and was able to begin to work on the house right away. Very clean- they cleaned up really well when they finished. They even patched holes on a wall and re texture it as well. If you are looking to have popcorn removed, don't hesitate call Rick! read more

Acoustic Removed - Great job! Very clean. - Drywall Installation & Repair Near Me - Ventura, California

This firm provides the three things I look for in contractor services: 1) A fair price; 2) Good quality; 3) The handshake at the end of the deal came with an earnest question of whether I was completely happy with the work, and if not, was there anything needed to make sure I was happy. AcousticRemoved was recommended by my painting contractor. They showed up on time, charged fairly, worked with me fairly on changes and modifications to the work order, kept a clean workplace, and delivered quality. It is a pleasure to give them a positive review. read more

Our ceilings turned out great! What a wonderful team. Rick was responsive and organized. He stuck to his phone quote and had the contract written out so the terms were clear. The pair who worked on our home was detail oriented and left it as clean as when they walked in. We highly recommend this company. We had a quote from another place that was much higher. Rick's price was fair and he was a joy to work with. Must say again- we highly recommend read more

Rick and his team were great. They took care of popcorn removal on my vaulted ceilings in several rooms. They adjusted their schedules to meet my needs, as I was moving into the house quickly and wanted the ceilings done before I moved all the furniture in. They were on time, on schedule, and had the acoustic removed, textured, and ceilings painted by the time I moved in. Great job! Rick even came out to inspect the job when I thought that something had been missed by the painters, even had his guys repaint it the next day to be sure, turned out to just be something wrong my ceiling framing that was casting a shadow. Was a pleasure working with them, and Rick was great about taking my calls late at night and planning out the job with me. A+!!! Overall, excellent job, highly recommended, competitive pricing. read more

Rick and his guys are great. They conduct themselves the way all contractors should. They showed up on time. They did exactly what they said they would do when they said they would do it. They did an amazing job. They were courteous and professional every step of the way. Definitely one of the best contractors I have ever worked with, and recommend them for both acoustic removal and drywall re-texturing. read more

We are so happy with the work Rick & his team did! It looks even better than I could have hoped for! Not only did Jose remove the acoustic & spray new texture--they even repaired areas where drywall had been removed. Rick was so friendly as well! I would 100% recommend these guys! read more

Outstanding job!! We purchased a home with 20+years of smoking tenants and cottage cheese ceiling. When it came time to remove it, the end product was less than tolerable to the eye (removed by another company), but Rick and Jose came in and made it look outstanding!!! No nicks or chunks of left over puddy, just seemless drywall. Rick and his workers did everything and then some for us. Even when another contractor locked us out of our garage he helped us get back in! Great pricing, flexible with our crazy timeline, attentive to our needs, and lastly did everything he said he would do. I rarely if ever write Yelp reviews, but I chose Rick and his team because of the Yelp reviews and I wanted to make sure another could benefit to know that their work is still great! read more

Rick is AMAZING. He's helpful and available. He keeps checking in and following up and makes it clear he really cares about the job. I wanted our ceilings scraped, textured, primed, and painted before we moved into my new place. There wasn't enough time to get the job done, so Rick was able to get the scraping and texturing done before we moved in, and then came back and did the priming and painting after we'd moved in, when the whole place was full of boxes and furniture, and this included several vaulted ceilings. When I brought something to his attention that I thought had been damaged during the job, he instantly replaced it. Both timews they came, when they left they didn't leave a trace of any mess. They are VERY professional and considerate. This could not have been a better experience. I would recommend Rick and this company to everyone! read more

Very reasonably priced, but you get what you pay for. Upfront the manager, Rick, was friendly, got to work, and finished quickly. They did an okay job, but scrapped and missed refinishing a closet. He came out to take a look at what was missed he said he would 'call his guy to come finish it' and then, as if we made him angry, said 'so can I get the check now?' Unfortunately after he got his money he left and no one ever came back and finished the work. Had he not been disrespectful at the end, I probably would have rated the business 3 or 4 stars because it was such a small area inside of a closet we never use. In the end, it was very cheap and 'okay' but I still wish we had a better overall experience. read more

Rick and his crew did an outstanding job! They had entire house scraped, primed & painted in 2.5 days. They're clean, quick and very professional. Not to mention that his price was nearly HALF of what I was quoted by another contractor. Highly recommended!! read more

Rick and his team were great. They scraped and textured the ceilings (even in a room with a vaulted ceiling) and textured the walls where we had to do some patching. 5/31/2.017 I contacted Acoustic Removal and Rick came out to the house to give us a estimate. I read the reviews on Yelp and could not believe what I read. He was so professional about removing popcorn material from our ceiling's home. Well Yelp was RIGHT again and the procedure done by his crew was right on. Jose was awesome so clean and neat and helped us in so many ways. After that procedure was done the painters came in to finish the job. If it wasn't for Yelp's reviews I probably would not have gotten the right contractor. I recommend this company and Rick who made this project come true. Awesome experience. read more

I can't believe how wonderful Rick Hufford and his team were. Rick is so kind and thorough. His team, Jose and Hector, did ART WORK!! on our ceiling. The ceiling texture we chose was orange peel, and the finish is very thin and very beautiful. THANK YOU!! Rick and team. read more

Rick was great to work with, he made the process easy and he and his team did a great job. They were on time and were very flexible with our scheduling issues and worked around when we were able to make the property available. He has excellent communication, everything is done on time, and the result was great. He also explained an issue to me that would have cost me more money later if he had not done so, and was able to resolve it during the work they did, saving me money. We'd definitely recommend him. read more

Very good experience with this company. I called rick to get an estimate not expecting much since the last contractor flaked on me. He gave an estimate and did the job as promised. Rick the owner came out to give me an estimate. He was prompt and professional. The work I needed done was total scraping of acoustic ceilings in my 1500 sq. ft. condo, patching and paint. I wanted recessed lighting too so Rick recommended I have that done BEFORE I did my ceilings. That was good advice! The holes in the ceilings and walls it took to wire all of the lighting was extensive and Rick gave me a reasonable quote to repair it all. His team was on time and worked hard until the job was done. This is a messy job, they did a good job of cleaning it up. We had all of our stuff in the home, so extra cleaning was needed, but only from the dust. Totally expected with this type of job. Total job from start to finish 3 days. I would highly recommend Rick he was informative, professional and really cared about the job being done promptly and correctly. He also recommended the contractor who did our recessed lights and he did a great job too!! The painter whom Rick recommended is painting the whole condo too. All good work, and reasonable quotes! read more

They were by far the most reasonably priced bid I received. I have an 1800 sq. foot home and they were able to scrape, patch, re-texture, prime and paint in a three workday period. They clean up at the end of every day. House looks much better. Three stars due to extended period from estimate to bid, and paint and texture could have been more carefully applied, but hey, there is a significant price savings here. I have recommended them to family and their impression was the same. Good value for the price. read more

We had Rick and his team remove the acoustic on our ceilings, re-texture and paint them. They did an EXCELLENT job!! We absolutely love the work they did! What a difference! Rick was awesome to work with! Easy to communicate, and our ceilings look great. He was almost half the cost of the other quote we got, stayed within his timeline, and was able to help us do a bunch of repairs from other work we had done, which also look great. There were a couple of little things that got missed (to be expected with such a big job) but he was extremely prompt in getting them taken care of. He was also able to give us several referrals for other work we needed done, as we are new to the area. Thanks, Rick! read more

What really stands out for me is the great advice Rick Hufford gave me, right from the start. I had just bought a home, and he provided information and suggestions in a completely objective, professional way. It was clear that he knew his business and took pride in giving his customers excellent service. After another contractor had steered me toward getting a more expensive ultra-smooth finish, Rich reiterated some of the reasons I might want to reconsider, even though he was completely willing to provide whatever finish I chose. After giving it more thought, I decided that the orange-peel texture Rick originally had suggested would better suit my home and my budget. In short, he helped me avoid spending a lot of money on something I would NOT have valued in the end! Rick's employee, Jose, did a great job removing the popcorn from the ceilings and applying the texture, and he was super-friendly. (The texture, by the way, is very subtle, and since all the walls in the home already have a similar texture, it made no sense to go for baby's bottom smoothness on the ceilings alone.) Rick also was very helpful in advising me on paint and on some other remodeling issues not directly related to his work. I'm delighted with the results, and I'm really glad I trusted the great Yelp reviews and called Rick for this job. read more

I was referred to Rick from a colleague in my company. Rick answered my calls, gave me prompt attention and was able to accommodate my schedule when it came to getting my acoustic ceiling scraped. Rick and his team were great. They did a great job, were on time and had great communication with what was to be done and when. There some minor cracking that occurred as certain sections dried. I would highly recommend them as they are fast, do good work, and the price is very competitive. read more

I was in escrow and wanted a quote without someone going to the new property, I didn't want anything to mess up our offer. Rick was the only contractor that gave me a reasonable estimate over the phone. Our close date was pushed early and Rick was accommodating to the new date. He and his team did an amazing job on our whole house; over 2,000 sqft. I would highly recommend them. He gave a discount for paying in cash, and also had a paint discount since we chose to paint ourselves after the acoustic removal. I gave a much deserved tip on top. read more
