We bought our house the day the pandemic was announced. I feel fortunate to have bought the house when we did. It is a nice home. When we bought the home the previous owner had painted the house in a trendy dark brown-ish color. And over the past few years the dark paint color had begun to fade and the house didn't look as nice any longer. So we decided to have the exterior painted with a fresh new look. I guess living in Ventura sometimes we may take things for granted, short lines, friendly store clerks and honest car mechanics so when you accept a bid from Jason at Secor Painting you may not be surprised by the outstanding work. It's wonderful when somebody exceeds expectations and simply displays exceptional and skilled work on the job. We are having our home painted by Secor and each day when I come home from work I'm blown away by the craftsmanship of the work. The crew takes the time to do outstanding repairs that I did not expect... it's like they are working on there own house or their Mothers house. A while ago we had a new breaker box put in the back of our house and the stucco job that the electrician did around the new box was shabby at best. With out being asked or Not being part of the bid the Secor stucco guy redid the electricians shabby work. I could go on and point out the amazing prep work they are doing. We used Jason and his team at Secor to paint our kitchen walls, ceiling and original cupboards, and one office including new shelves, in our 99 year old home. When we bought the home, it was in poor shape, and we are slowly renovating and restoring it. The two rooms Secor painted needed a LOT of prep work especially to the plaster and lath walls and the 1925 kitchen cabinets. Jason gave us great guidance about what paints to use to achieve our goals. His team was always on time, worked hard, kept everything as clean as possible, and did an excellent and professional job. We asked for some unusual colors, and they made the places where the colors joined look great. Jason and his team have taken our kitchen from a grubby dim room that is hard to keep clean due to poorly maintained surfaces, to a bright and clean place to cook and enjoy. The process was rather expensive, particularly as the two rooms were in poor shape, but worth it. We recently purchased a house which needed the interior to be painted throughout. It's a fairly large house of about 3000 sqft. We had several contractors come out and bid on the project. Jason came out promptly to look over the house and discuss options as far as color arrangement and paint type. He was very polite and took his time in answered all of our questions. We got the best bid from Secor painting. Our other concern was how quickly they could schedule the project. I told Jason we needed to move in ASAP and even though he was booked for several weeks, he was able to shuffle his crew around to get to our project the following week. None of the other contractors were willing to do that. Jason and his crew did an amazing job throughout the whole house. Any issue I had with the work they were already aware of and Jason assured me they would have the house in perfect condition once completed. And that they did. I made the mistake of pointing out a painting issue after the project was completed to Jason that was not part of the original agreement and he still had his guys show up to fix it at no cost even though he had no obligation to do so. The other problem which I have to give Jason credit for is the limited supplies that were available. Some of the colors and primer were not available locally so Jason went out of his way to go to locations further away to make sure he could get the project completed on time. He was delivering supplies daily. For anyone looking for a painter who'll do a pristine job and make the job headache free for their client, we highly highly recommend Secor painting. When we bought a new house back in March, we knew we had to use Jason again to paint our new home. Jason came over and went over all the paint samples with me and got a sense of the feeling/theme I was going for. He made some suggestions and helped me choose paint colors that went well together. His team also added baseboards upstairs, that match the downstairs baseboards that the original owners had. When we didn't like a color, his team easily swapped them out. Jason and his crew painted my townhouse interior a couple months ago. They broke bathroom light fixture and stated they would replace the glass or purchase a new fixture of my choice. Asked to have glass replaced as this was a matching light fixture in both bathrooms. They could not find glass and then promised to replace fixture of my choice. I finally agreed as this was not what I really wanted. Then stopped returning phone calls and texts. They never replaced fixture and left me a very unhappy customer. Painters also painted the electrical box shut and had to use knife to cut away paint to get into box and old paint was not completely removed on kitchen cabinets leaving new paint cracking and peeling off. read more

My wife and I are extremely pleased with all the work Jason and his team did at our home. First, our exterior needed stucco repairs and complete painting, including five different paint colors, including main stucco, trims, facia, shutters and doors. Jason matched all these w beautiful, durable Sherwin Williams paint. When Jason was done our home looked more beautiful than ever. We were so happy with everything Secor Painting did on the exterior we asked Jason to bid on our interior. This is where he really shined. He helped us select colors (our home had been all builders white inside) and he showed us many colors, and recommended several for us to choose from. We were so happy with his knowledge about what would look good, given existing tile color, and esp the look we wanted. When completed we loved everything, from our entryway and living room thru the hall and our four bedrooms which each have a unique color. Now our home looks like a model home.
