After the wind storm we had called a tree service we had used before. He was too busy with the…read morestorm damage so he recommended us to call Able tree service. So we did. One of their men came out to look at the tree on our house. They said they could do the job but gave us no estimate. This maybe partly our fault because we were just grateful to get someone to come out after the storm because we knew other people were in need of tree services too. They came after 2days which was fine because the tree did not penetrate through our metal roof. Thank goodness for that. So the crane came but had to wait for the crew to show up . It did take almost all day to do the job. There was no bill that day. About a week later we received a bill of $30,000 plus for the work. It was One tree! My husband called because we thought it was a mistake. They said they could adjust it so now only$26,000 for the job. Our insurance gave us a check for all the work that was needed to be done other than the tree. We had to pay out of pocket a few thousand dollars to have the other things done. The tree company did not remove the tree or do a good job cleaning up. So if you use Able make sure you get in writing what they are going to do for you and the cost. I wish we knew more of what to do in this type of emergency.

They did a great job getting the tree down safely and without damage to our property. They placed a plywood path in the grass to avoid damage to our lawn from the trucks. They did exactly as we asked with the wood (chip the small branches and brush and dump it in the back yard for the garden and hen house, and cut the larger pieces into firewood-sized chunks so we can split it and use it this winter). They ground the stump down nice and deep. The only reasons I give them 4 stars instead of 5 is because they didn't even attempt to level the ground where the stump was, and because they did not communicate well about when they were coming. They had 2 numbers and only called one, and when they didn't get an answer they just came to the house anyway rather than calling the second. He had given us a timeframe (10-14 days till service) with the quote, and it was nice that they came sooner than expected, but an unanticipated arrival was an issue for 2 reasons: they only take cash (so we had to run out to the bank), and I work night shift. I had worked the night prior and had to go back in that night, so I only got about 3 hours of sleep. If they had communicated more effectively I'd have requested a different day. Overall I recommend and will use them again when my trees need trimming this fall.

Unfortunately it rained on my date of removal. I was so surprised when Pedro called me 24 hours later asking if he could remove it promptly. Upon arrival Pedro and his team were patient in explaining to me the process. His team worked quickly and did an amazing job. They meticulously cleaned up all of the branches and leaves from both mine and my neighbors yard. I cannot recommend them enough and will be using them for all of my tree removal needs in the future. I rarely write a bad review but I feel compelled to do so. I went with this company to take some…read moretrees down because my parents had always used them and they had been in business a long time. We also had our neighbors use them last year and they were very happy. They were reputable. They were prompt in getting out to give us a quote. The woman whom I don't remember her name was very helpful on the phone and I felt confident they would do an excellent job. They scheduled the trees to be taken down mid November and I thought all was set and good. A week prior ( this is six weeks later) I called to confirm the appointment and received no call back. I shrugged it off to them being busy. The day prior I called and left a message with their phone service and no call back. I took the day off they were suppose to be here and they never showed. Again, called talked to the phone service and no one returned my call. I get work can get off schedule, jobs can be delayed, or even pushed back a month. I am not an unreasonable person. But the fact I never even got a phone call upset me. I proceeded to call for the next week and a half leaving message after message and never once did the owner call me back. This is extreme poor business practice. I just wanted others to know to call around before they get jerked around. I called early October to set this up and now I am into the winter with two trees leaning towards my house and everyone is booked months out. I would not recommend using Borgman or even calling them for a quote! What a disappointment.

The team came into the neighbors yard to remove a rather large oak tree that a large part of grew over my home. They guys did a fantastic job from my point of view. Not only did they stay on task all day, they cleaned up every branch or bark that fell into my yard. They were much quieter that I had expected for chain saws running all day.
