This store sells expired items. Please check before you buy! Maureen at customer service is the worst. Would not take a return and didn't give a single $hit telling me "we are not going to lose on that return" and if you want the return "got fetch the item in the trash" so if you buy an expired item you're screwed and out of money. read more

I had to deal with an extremely rude employee at the self-checkout. I bought something that required an ID check and the employee who checked my ID was in a nasty mood and at one point knocked my hand away when I tried to show her my ID. She growled at me to tell her my birthday and that she can't read the date. She actually broke the law because you are required to see the date of birth on the ID and to verify the ID isn't expired. I used to be a bartender, and I know the law well. She shouldn't be working there. read more

I came here to get food for a party that I was co-hosting, and it was easy to find everything I needed. This grocery store has almost everything you could need or want. The produce is fresh and delicious too. Sometimes if you're lucky, you'll be able to get your hands on a couple bags of shishito peppers, which in my opinion is the best kind of pepper. You can also find gluten and dairy-free Oreos which is almost impossible to find anywhere else. The employees there are also really kind and are willing to help you with anything you need. I'm also impressed by their selection of condiments and was able to find gluten and dairy free sauces including spicy mayo which is also the best. I wish I could find an ACME Market on the Upper West Side because I'm very happy. read more

Update: Tuesday November 8th, 2022. My son and I walk into this location, in the attempts to give it a try. We walk over to the deli counter, where there is one employee. So we are standing there, standing there, standing there, no acknowledgement at ALL from the employee. As I explained to the manager the way customer service works is you ACKNOWLEDGE the customer in front of you with a word or even with a hand wave. The manager states "he was busy with another order, where the customer leaves what they want and then comes back". I said great but if he would have given me the opportunity to even do that, knowing he was busy I would have done the same if he would have ACKNOWLEDGED me. read more

The prices are so high and some of the cashiers are rude. Bought cherries a and grapes a couple of weeks ago and I put them in a plastic bag and brought them to the register I do not want two pound of fruit I wanted just enough for the work day . The girl had no idea what the code for the cherries and grapes were because they weren't in the original bag from the produce section and just in their regular clear plastic produce bags that hang in the aisle. They ended up suspending the order to bring me to customer service so they can put the cherry and grapes code in...smh . Only reason I go here is bc I work near by. Also the baking team pretends they don't see you and takes them forever to help you. read more

I've lived here most of my life, and have always shopped here. Well, I won't be supporting them anymore. This evening, at self checkout, an employee came up to me and put an empty box in front of me. He told me I dropped it and when I tried to give it back and said it wasn't mine, he insisted that I should I pay for it. His words- "No, it's okay. Just pay for it and it will be fine." After seeing it was an empty box of Tylenol PM I realized he was accusing me. Mortified, I tried to unzip my bag and told him he could search it. Pissed and upset, I obviously wanted to speak to a manager. Turns out HE is the manager! He then gaslighted me on what had just happened. All I wanted was an apology for his mistake of embarrassing me and instead he argued that I heard wrong and he was just trying to give me back something he thought I dropped. I'm sorry but... I want an empty box of painkillers? I don't know who made that man manager, but I will not be returning while he is still an employee there! read more

I bought 3 items: a jar of Kretchmer wheat germ, a box of PG Tips tea bags and a box of Twinings Chai tea bags. The cashier rang it up for a total of $21.47 and asked me if I wanted a receipt - I said Yes. As I drove home I glanced at my receipt - saw an error: the PG Tips box was rung up 2x and the Chai tea box was not rung up at all. The PG Tips tea was $7-something The Chai tea was $4-something. I drove back and got it "corrected". It makes you wonder. This was a mistake with only 3 items. Imagine if it was 30 items. read more

One Star ratings is too much! The crappy experience I had at the Acme supermarket store #1063 in Patterson NY, was extremely insulting and unfortunately, it has occurred on multiple occasions. I have been going to this store for over 5 years. This morning as I went grocery shopping and picked up meat and pushed my cart to get cases of water, a call immediately goes over the loudspeaker hysterically announcing "associate (forgot name -think Kevin or Steve) to the water aisle, please go to the water aisle" and the worker rushed into the aisle and passes me to see what I have in my cart. Then he hides behind a center display a few feet away and continues to duck in and out watching me as if I am a thief. After I got my water, I spoke to the worker about how insulting it was that they treat their customers like that, and he stated sorry, I'm just trying to do my job. It is understandable that they may have a problem with theft, but there are ways to professionally go about it, and people should be trained. It is not by having a moron call for a clerk to rush to an aisle to conduct surveillance on customers as it also puts the clerk in danger. Especially if they are dealing with someone who could care less about a clerk trying to stop them. Currently, you would think treating customers respectably would be in the best interest of business and to keep customers returning. Being a minority does not make someone a thief, and this was 100% profiling. It was embarrassing and insulting and will never shop at this place again. read more

Wow...open one month....expired food all over the store...produce has 0 life...help is nasty when you tell them about issues and prices really.... $2.00 more for a half gallon of half and half than anywhere else...and that's the store brand....the seafood looks nice, bought a lobster tail.....and straight to the garbage....wnet back and the shell fish is sitting in nasty grey smelly water. On April 1 i went to the store to do some shopping, purchased a bottle of qoc10 vitamins soft gel 72 ct. was charged 45.99 did not think anything of it . When i arrived home my wife informed me that they e the wrong kind she can only have the chew-ables. Then laughter and said you were ripped off the average price in any drug store or supper market is 26 to 36 dollars. I looked on line and she was right. The $36 price was a 2 for 1 sale. On April 3 i returned to acme to exchange them for the right ones only to be informed they are not doing exchanges or refunds and told were sorry but your sol and walked away. This store is terrible. I went Sunday, 5/6/18 and as usual they had three registers open. The lines were going into the isles. One of my purchases was a buy one get one free vitamins. There was only one of the vitamin I wanted so I got another vitamin of the same brand. It didn't work at checkout so I went to customer service to return the one I didn't really want and asked for a rain check for the free one once they came in. The kid said they are always buy one get one. I explained that I already bought one and I wanted my free one. I had to explain this several times before he understood. Then he became angry that he had to fill out a form. Then handed it to me without saying anything and simply walked away. They let self entitled high school kids run the store. Shell shocked. That's the only way I can describe my first experience in this newly opened store. Shell shocked by its exorbitant non-sale prices. Doesn't ACME realize that A&P (the previous occupant of this location) went out of business exactly because its prices were so ridiculous? Really, $4.99 for store brand organic milk? The tiniest box of Kellogg's cereal is $3.99. $2.49 for a single roll of paper towels, and I'm not talking about a supersized roll. I could go on and on. Am I only supposed to buy what's on sale that particular week? Because that's all I can reasonably afford and all I'm willingly to pay for without being morally outraged. Only open for a week, the store was absolutely deserted at 7pm on a Friday night. I guess everyone quickly figured out that this place is going to be a rip off once all the "new store, come on down and check us out" specials end. The cashier staff was plentiful given the dearth of customers, but they were all young and more interested in flirting with each other than ringing up my groceries. Nothing here bodes well. read more
