Honestly, not sure how to rate this one. First off, Rodney's is probably 80% bar and 20%…read morerestaurant. If I had to sit inside, I would not come here. The inside is basically a poorly lit bar with a few tables. The outside, however, is a different story. They have a very nice patio area, which is where I chose to sit this evening. I was surprised that the restaurant was mostly empty on a Friday night at 6:00. The waitress informed me that things don't get hopping here until after 9:00, when they have live music or a DJ. Again, this is mostly a bar. Onto the food. I had their messed up taters and their caprese BLT. Let's do the bad first. The BLT was a poor attempt. It was mostly lettuce with some sort of balsamic sauce. I could swear I also tasted mustard for some reason. Very little bacon. I think there was supposed to be mozzarella on the sandwich but I couldn't find any. Two stars. I would stay away from that one. Now for the positive - the loaded taters were absolutely delicious. Lots of cheese, both cheese sauce and shredded. Plus a nice helping of bacon. Can't believe I ate the whole thing myself. Here's why I'm giving this 4 stars - the whole meal cost around $15. You can barely get a fast food meal for $15 and this was way better. My Blue Moon drafts were only $5. I will come here again on a nice summer evening, enjoy their patio, get the taters and try something different for my meal.

We arrived on a Sunday around 4PM, there was hardly anyone in the dining area so I was surprised when the bartender had to check the reservation book before seating us. Luckily, we were seated in the bar area right away. As time progressed, I realized why a reservation was so important. The restaurant got very busy, very quickly. Make reservations! There is a bar area, indoor dining, and an outdoor patio. My friend and I both had parmesan dishes, she had chicken parmesan which was a huge portion and I had the eggplant parmesan which I hoped to be a little bigger of a portion, at least the size as my friend's chicken parmesan. No salads or soups were included with the entrees, which would be a nice touch, especially for the price point ($20+) The bread that was served was amazing, and paired with peppers. I wish we would have had more, the two of us were given two slices and the heel of the loaf which we shared between the two of us. To go, I ordered the spicy pepper linguini with homemade Italian sausage, my husband said it was great and the portion was giant ($22) Would definitely come back again for the food. The venue is also pretty awesome, surrounded by antiques and a house with many stories.

The other dishes we tried, including a salad, and a pasta dish with vegetables, were OK.
